00 Hey, what's going on, everybody? Thank you so much for joining us for this week's message from Zoe Church Los Angeles. We are excited we're in a brand new series. Studying the book of Luke will be in Luke chapter 3 and 4 today. Open up your Bibles and go there now as we prepare to hear the Word of God. I want to say thank you. It's the first Sunday in the month of May. I want to say thank you to everybody that gives to and through Zoe Church. and we just had youth night this last week. We had Zoe Cares. I love my city feeding and clothing people yesterday. All of the things that we do here at Zoe happens through your faithful generosity. If you'd like to give, go to our website and you can give there. But let's jump in to this week's message. He shapes before he sends. Luke chapter number three, go there in your Bible, go to verse number three.
54 And I'm so excited. We started last Sunday. if you missed our start to this series, we are calling it the Jesus road, the path that changed everything. And this will end in an epic, climactic conclusion on a path that Jesus gives his life for us. But last week, if you missed, we started out on the birth of Jesus. We talked about John the Baptist before he was born, his parents. And we're kind of journeying through the book of Luke. And so if you didn't read before this Sunday, that's all right. Next Sunday, come prepared, having read Luke 5 and Luke 6. But I want to preach a message in the installment, the second installment, installment number two. Write down the title of the theme of these two chapters. It's he shapes what he sends.
44 And I just like this thought about God. Before God sends you, he first shapes you. and so he'll shape you that's why the bible says he is the potter and we are the clay because he shapes stuff and then he sends stuff but he ain't gonna send you until he first shape you amen to that and i like that idea because i'm in the world where i shape stuff and then i send stuff i don't know if you knew this about your boy but i'm a part of the worship team and I write music. It's kind of my thing. And I'm not really like a lyricist or like, I'm not there for the melody line, but I'm the Bible guy. So I'm there for the writing session. And I always say to Nadine and the guys, you know, the Bible says, or we could consider this because the Bible says, but you know, at Zoe worship, anybody loves Zoe worship, by the way, clap for these amazing guys over here we love y'all so much and and and you know we we we shape songs and we test them out here at highland park before we ever send them down to the south bay but we shape them before we send them out on spotify and that's the whole thing about life is you got to get stuff ready and get stuff right before you export it into the world.
12 I want to encourage you and remind you, God has a plan for your life. God has something for you to do while you're here on this earth. God has a purpose for your being. And before God ever launches you into your potential, he spends careful time crafting you, molding you, and shaping you. And then he sends you out into the assignment that he has for your life. clap if you're thankful that God's got a plan for your life today Let's go back to John the Baptist. John the Baptist in Luke 3, it says, he went into all the country around the Jordan. He was preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. And as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah, a voice, one calling in the wilderness, prepare the way for the Lord. Make straight paths for him. Even valleys shall be filled in and every mountain hill made low.
09 The crooked road shall become straight. The rough will become smooth and all the people will see God's salvation. John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, you brood of vipers who warned you to flee from the coming wrath, produce fruit in keeping with repentance. I'm gonna give you six things to write down. Write down number one today. God prepares you through repentance. The way that God gets you ready for what he has for you is through the act of repentance. And if you don't know what repentance is, repentance is a turning away. Repentance is making a 180. And there might be parts of your life where you're walking against the will or plan of God. There might be parts of your life that you're not living up to God's standards. The way that God prepares you is he prepares you through repentance.
03 Repentance, by the way, is not feeling bad about what you've done. Repentance, by the way, is not crying tears of remorse over what you've done. A repentance is changing your mind and making a U-turn and saying, I'm not going to live for me. I'm not going to live for the world. I'm not going to live for pleasure. I'm going to live now. Come on, everybody, clap. I'm going to go God's way.
27 That's what repentance means. There's a famous missionary. He was in China. He went for years trying to win people in China to the Lord. and he was famous for going around every day. He'd ask everybody the same question. Everybody he encountered, he'd ask them the same thing. Have you repented yet today? Have you repented yet today? Have you repented yet today? And he believed that the problem for most of us is that there's a long gap between the last time I repented to this time that I repent. And he said, you know what? I think you should not do it once a year or bi-yearly. I think you should do it every day. that's why Jesus said when you pray you pray this way our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name forgive me of my sins as I forgive those that have sinned against me so my question to you today is have you repented yet today come on man some of you drove on the 405 have you repented yet today Thank you.
26 you know your starbucks order wasn't ready in time have you repented yet today god prepares you through repentance and repentance isn't a feeling where repentance is a decision i'm saying i'm not going to live for me and mine and what i can do and i'm going to do what god's standard is and he and here's john the baptist while he died preacher he's a voice in the wilderness crying out, prepare the way of the Lord. I can hear the Bishop Jake's voice right now. Get ready, get ready, get ready. He was trying to tell everybody you better get ready because God's about to show up. How do you get ready for what God has for you? You repent of anything that doesn't please him. You repent of anything that's not worthy of a standard. You repent of anything that doesn't live up to the glory of God?
22 And John the Baptist was saying, you don't understand, you need to repent and get right. God's about to show up and do something awesome. And I wanna encourage you, if there's an area of your life that is not up to God's standard, repent now for the kingdom of God is near. Don't keep walking against God's standards. Make that U-turn and go God's way. Are you like me? Sometimes you come to a stoplight and it says no U-turn and you're like, I don't know.
55 Maybe, maybe not. Who's watching? repentance is not going man i feel bad about not tithing repentance is tithing i feel bad about what me and my boyfriend are doing no it's walking in in strength and purity oh i i feel bad about my attitude and my rebellion no i'm going to submit my life to god how does god prepare you he prepares you through repentance and john the baptist was a voice crying out in the wilderness, get your life right. Get your finances in order. Get your relationships right because God is about to do something. And so he's out there baptizing in the water, in the Pacific. I'm jealous of all these other bodies of water, by the way, that get warm. The Pacific is a cold plunge no matter what time of year it is. Glory to God.
55 watch verse 16 John answered them I baptize you with water but one who is more powerful than I will come and the straps of whose sandals I'm not worthy to untie he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire I just like that because John's going hey I'm dunking people in the Pacific but there's a man that's coming who's not going to baptize you in water he's going to baptize you in the power of the Holy Spirit and you'll have the fire of God on your life come on anybody thankful today that I'm not just baptized. Come on, clap louder. I'm not just baptized in water. I'm baptized through Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit today.
37 God prepares you through repentance. Write down number two. God gives you identity before assignment. So Jesus comes to John. He's like, John, you got to baptize me. And John the Baptist like, Jesus, you're crazy. There's no way that I could ever baptize you. I'm not worthy to baptize you. And Jesus goes, I must be baptized. I just want to say this. If you've never been baptized, if Jesus had to be baptized, you and I must be baptized. Jesus goes, I've got to get baptized. And so he's like, all right, I don't want to do this, but it'll get awkward if I argue with God. And so he baptizes Jesus. Watch what the Bible says when Jesus get baptized. Luke chapter three, verse 21. When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven. You are my son whom I love with you. I am well pleased. I love this story.
45 Jesus goes down crosses himself they get him all the way in the water because it don't count unless you go all the way in the water he comes up out the water and a dove appears on his shoulder and the skies the may gray rolls away okay we're gonna have fun today or not and a voice comes down from heaven this is one of the only times in scripture that the Trinity are all there at the same time. The Father is there. The Holy Spirit is there. And the Son of God is there. And God shouts down, the Father shouts down from heaven to his Son. This is my Son with whom I love in whom I'm well pleased. You know what he's saying? You belong to me. I love you. I'm proud of you.
38 You belong to me. I love you. I'm proud of you. See, before God can give you your assignment, he's got to first give you your identity. There's no way you could go out in your assignment until you know who you are. You don't know who you are until you know whose you are. But I'm thankful today that we serve a father that would roll across the heavens and say, you belong to me. I love you and I'm for you. I'm proud of you. See, I don't know if you grew up with a good dad. I don't know what your dad used to say over you, but identity is not shaped by what's not spoken over you. Identity is shaped by what is spoken over you. And our God knew this about his son. Our God knew this about you. And so he comes out of the water and everybody's got their iPhone out and they're taking photos and they're posting it on their story and they're filtered, filtered Jakarta and they're going at Jesus, fire emoji.
34 Wow. God is good. Post. And they're going nuts. All the cameras are out. Whoa, there's a bird. There's a dove. Whoa. And the heavens open and a thunderous voice beams down from heaven. And the father says, this is my son. I love you so much. And I'm so pleased with you. And I don't know if you had a good dad. I don't know what kind of dad you grew up with. I don't know if you ever had a dad say this over you, but I wanna echo what heaven's saying over you today. You belong to me. I love you. I'm proud of you. You belong to me. See, Jesus, for the rest of his assignment, lived from approval, not for approval.
28 This would change your whole dynamic. Most of us want the approval and the acceptance so bad that we chase it on all kinds of other platforms. But if you get it from God, you don't need it from nobody else. And so God shouts down to his son, you belong to me. I love you. I'm proud of you. I love to wake up my boys in the morning. It's one of my favorite things to do in the earth. When I wake up my boys, my eight-year-old jumps out of bed like he's ready to go. My 12-year-old just kind of slowly moves his blanket and then he moves. My 10-year-old needs 45 minutes to open his eyes. So in the morning, I get next to my 10-year-old, I get next to his ear, and I start talking to him. Good morning, you man of God. Do I love you, you champion, you warrior. Is he a warrior? No, but I'm declaring it. I'm shouting over my son every morning who he is more than who he's not. I'm declaring you are who God says you are. You can do what God called you to do. Anybody thankful today for a good father who is in heaven that would roll away the clouds and shout over your life today. I love you. You belong to me. I'm proud of you. Clap louder if you're grateful for the love of the father that would increase and declare your identity so you know who you are. And most of us, we don't, you ever meet somebody that they clearly don't know who they are? And it's like so sad and it breaks your heart because you're like, wow, I can see that you tried to become this for a while.
03 And then you were this for a while. And then you're a chameleon and you don't have identity. You can't get your identity from people. You can't get your identity from crowds. You've got to get your identity from the one that created you, from the one that made you, from the one that fashioned you together. When you were in your mother's womb, somebody clap and thank the Lord together. I know who I am because I know whose I am. before he ever sends Jesus out in assignment, he opens up the heaven. He puts the Holy Spirit on his shoulder and he said, I want everybody to know I approve of you, that you belong to me. You belong to me, not based upon your behavior, but based upon the fact that you, I made you. Some of you keep thinking like, am I good enough to belong? You belong before you believe. God made you and you belong to the Father.
58 So Jesus comes up out of the water and the Holy Spirit comes upon him. And it's an epic moment. By the way, can we just thank God for everybody that got baptized last Sunday? and I'm so excited for it we have baptism at the end of every month we'll do baptism again at the end of May and so they have baptism and you know they go to old country buffet afterwards to celebrate and on the way home Jesus like dad can we go to handouts and the father's like I'm more of a salt and straw kind of God. And so they go to salt and straw. It's epic. It's epic. He got baptized. And right after this spiritual encounter, right after this spiritual enlightenment, right after this incredible moment, watch what happens in Luke four, verse one, put it on the screen. It says, Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for 40 days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them, he was hangry. Write down point number three today. God tests in the wilderness. I just love this. Jesus, full of the Holy Ghost, full of the Holy Spirit, was led by the Spirit into the wilderness. See, most of us think that when we have a God moment and we get baptized or we go to conferences and we go to us conference, we're going to have this moment and God's going to lead us into comfort. But here Jesus gets full of the Spirit and gets led into the wilderness. Why does God lead his son into the wilderness? Because Jesus is about to prove that he is the true Israel. Israel was led into the wilderness. It should have been for 40 days, but it ended up being 40 years because in the wilderness, it's a test of dependence upon God.
00 The wilderness is a test of identity and strength. The wilderness is a test. Can you love God when nobody's around you and the devil is tempting you? Jesus is the true Israel where for 40 days, He says no to temptation, no to the flesh, and passes the test in the wilderness. Is there anybody thankful that you serve a God that before he sends you, he's going to shape you in the wilderness where nobody's watching?
27 I don't know if you've ever been through a wilderness season, but I've lived long enough now where I've had some fun seasons. I've had some friend seasons. I've had some laughter seasons and abundance season, but I've had a wilderness season or two, anybody else? and when you're in the wilderness, you're in the wilderness and when you're out in the wilderness, you're just like, man, we out here, no cell phone service, no Wi-Fi, no friends, nothing, wilderness and God filled him with the spirit, approved his identity and said, okay, we're gonna send you the wilderness. Let's see how you do. let's see if you can pass the test and Jesus while he was in the wilderness remember God tests Satan tempts and people tease and God is testing his son he's testing his trust and his dependence on God while he is in the wilderness he is tempted three times by the devil and all three times that the devil comes to tempt him he tests his identity Satan says to Jesus if you are the son of God if you are the son of God, if you are the son of God.
43 Three times he tests his identity. Thank God he had the moment when he was baptized that he knows who he is and he doesn't have to prove himself to anybody. He gets a physical test. He gets a spiritual test. And he gets, the third one is a shortcut to glory. But every single time Jesus stood on the living, breathing word of God, he quotes Deuteronomy 6, Deuteronomy 6, and Deuteronomy 9. And he says every single time back a scripture to the devil, it says man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Man shall not put God to the test. Anybody thankful today that you and I have the living, breathing word of God that can lead us in times of temptation. And if Jesus needed the Bible when he was in the wilderness, you're going to need the Bible when you're in the wilderness. That's why I want to invite you to read the Zoe Devo. I want to invite you to read every day.
35 we follow along a reading plan and we read the Bible. Why? Because the wilderness is coming. I'll never forget a few years ago, I was preaching at a conference in Montana in the summer and Pastor Julia tells this beautiful story she told at her night where we were in this outdoor, like, I don't know, just fields. Montana just is fields. It's like just horses, cows, fields.
01 And she said, God spoke to her in Montana. I was like, for sure. because there's nothing else talking in Montana. and the Lord spoke to Pastor Julian and said, I still have you in a wilderness season, and sometimes you and I get frustrated because God has led you into the wilderness, and you don't recognize it, so you're trying to run from it. You got to pass the test in the wilderness so you can step into the assignment that God has for your life. I'm preaching to somebody that's in the wilderness right now, and if God be for you, who can be against you? Clap and thank God. You might be in the wilderness, but my Bible says, yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Somebody clap and thank the Lord today that even if I'm in the wilderness, I'm going to pass the, come on, give them a praise today. We'll pass the test. Jesus is in the wilderness. He's not trying to run from it. He's not trying to hide from it. He's just trying to be faithful to depend upon God.
05 And so three times the enemy comes and tempts him. Read this last verse in Luke chapter four, verse 13. And when the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time. I like that part so much. He left him until an opportune time. In other words, you need to know that the enemy of your soul is looking for the right opportunity when your guard is down to tempt you.
30 Why would he come tempt you when your guard's up? Why would he come tempt you? some of you know you're not tempted at 12 p.m. You're tempted at 12 a.m. So why would he come and tempt you in the middle of the day when you don't struggle? He's looking for an opportune time. And if he was looking for an opportune time with Jesus, he's looking for an opportune time with you. And I'm just grateful today that God baptized me in the Holy Spirit where he will comfort me, lead me, guide me, remind me, teach me, and train me to walk in truth. Thank you. And so Jesus, Jesus in the wilderness, in the wilderness, after he was baptized, after he had a spiritual high, he was conflicted with his greatest test and he passed the test, the true Israel, Jesus.
22 And so he comes back into town out of the wilderness and he goes to church on a Sunday and he walks into the church and he opens up the scroll of Isaiah and he reads a prophecy to the church about himself. And he says, the spirit of the Lord is upon me because he's anointed me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted. He has sent me to proclaim the acceptable, favorable year of the Lord and to set at liberty the captive. He finishes reading, he sits down and he goes, today that scripture from Isaiah has been fulfilled.
54 And you would have thought everybody in the church would be like. you go Jesus but you want to know what they said who is this guy that thinks he's all that you know what God is doing God is revealing that there are certain people that are going to receive you and there are going to be those that will reject you but if you have your identity it doesn't matter what they do It only matters what God thinks. Amen to that.
27 Write down the next point today. Just because God is with you, that doesn't mean everyone will believe in you. Verse 20, then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began by saying to them, today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing. All spoke well of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his lips. Isn't this Joseph, son? Jesus said to them, surely you will quote this proverb to me, physician, heal yourself, and you will tell me, do here in your hometown what we have heard that you did in Capernaum. All the people in the synagogue, walk in verse 28, put it on the screen. All the people in the synagogue were furious when they heard this. And they got up and drove him out of the town and took him to the brow of the hill on which the town was built in order to throw him off the cliff. they said to Jesus, you're not welcome here, buddy.
27 You're not, we, no, you, we don't believe in you, man. And they escorted him to the, to the, to the brink on the cliff. And they're ready to throw him over just because God is for you. Doesn't mean everybody's going to believe in you. And you got to be okay with sometimes people are going to hate you. Other times people are going to love you, but if God be for you, who can be against you? Come on, it doesn't matter what man says. Clap if you believe it today. It doesn't matter man's opinion of you. All that matters is what God says about you.
03 And they escorted this brother to the edge of the cliff and tried to throw him over. Jesus, could you see him? He sits down and he's like, today, today, today. This scripture has been fulfilled in your reading. and they roll their eyes and they go, who in the world does this dude think he is? And they tried to kill him. Can I remind you that Jesus said, they hate me, they're going to hate you. They hate me, they're gonna hate you. It's just part of it. I wanna remind you and encourage you, if you got a whole bunch of people that hate you in your life, that means there's probably some people that love you in your life. If you got some people that say bad stuff about you and are some naysayers, there's probably some people that are celebrating you and for you. Don't be spoofed. Don't be scared. Don't be swayed by the opinions and the polls of others. You just keep on being obedient. You keep on being faithful. You keep on doing, come on, clap louder. South Bay, join with us. Everybody at home, come on, thank the Lord. It doesn't matter what you say. It doesn't change my assignment. It doesn't change my assignment. The other day, I was on social media. My son looked over my shoulder, and there's this dude on social media that makes fun of church people and makes fun of churches and makes fun of pastors.
19 And my son was like, who's that? I was like, ah, he's just a mocker. He's just one of them dudes that mocks, makes fun of all of us. And he's like, really? He's like, has he flamed you? And then this boy says, can I see how he flamed you? I said, shut up. and he's like so excited like dad did he get you i was like no he didn't get me he did you know he didn't get me he maybe he got like our friends and stuff but he didn't get me and he's like he got you didn't he i was like dude just can you go to bed I just believe this, that there's some people questioning you, laughing at you. People are just like, who do you, they go, who does he think is Joe's kid? Get out of here.
12 There's some people in your world that don't believe in the thing you're trying to do right now. Don't let it sway you from being obedient to the assignment that God has placed on your life. some of us it's like one bad comment throws us one negative word we're just like we can't handle it one person going against you like the world's against me no susan is against you everybody's against me. Three people at most, but we get all up in our feelings. And you know what Jesus did? Jesus said, Oh, y'all don't want me here. All right. I'll go to the next place. Stop sitting around tables where you're tolerated. Start getting around people where you're celebrated. Go to the people that are going to be for you and celebrating you. Come on, clap. If you believe that there's some people that God has placed in your life, they're going to hold up your arms, pray for you and root for you. Come on, give God some praise for the community and friendships and brotherhood that God has placed in your life.
15 And so Jesus keeps it moving. He goes to another church and he keeps on preaching. And watch what happens at this next church. It says in Luke chapter 4, 35, Jesus says to this demon, be quiet. Come out of him. Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him. And all the people were amazed and said to each other, what words these are? With authority and power, he gives orders to impure spirits. and they come out and the news about him spread throughout the surrounding area. Right down the next point today, all authority belongs to God. God has all authority. There is no sickness that's bigger than God. There is no cancer that's above my God. There is no evil spirit that's stronger than my God. If you're dealing with evil spirits in your home, I want you to speak the name of Jesus. I want you to declare the power of the blood of Jesus.
10 I want you to stand on the promises of God because God has all the authority. Anybody believe today that God is bigger, God is stronger, God is greater, and God is better. Come on, South Bay, clap with us right now if you believe that all the authority belongs to God. Demons have to bow. Evil spirits have to be cast out in the name of Jesus. And he was teaching in this church. He's teaching in this other church. And while he's teaching this demon possessed man starts saying, I know who you are. I know why, why have you come here to save us? And this demon possessed man starts this. It's like a cowboy fan manifested. Stay with me. and Jesus doesn't speak to the man because he speaks to the impure spirit. He says, you come out of this man.
04 You come out of this child of God, and without hurting the man, the evil spirit flies out. I just wanna encourage you. If you've been being messed with by some alternative spirit, by some other spirit, not the Holy Spirit, I want you to, right now, just declare the name of Jesus under your breath because God is for you, God is with you, and if God says it, he's going to do it. He has all the authority. the story about this young girl who was in her house and she's watching, she's watching this old Bible show called gospel bill, this old Bible teacher, gospel bill. She's watching gospel bill teach this lesson about the power that's in the name of Jesus. And gospel bills teaching about the power in the name of Jesus, that when you speak it, demons have to flee. Bodies have to get healed in the power in the name of Jesus. And he's teaching this as he's teaching this, They had a front door and like a slider door, like a screen door.
02 And while she's sitting there in her living room, a kidnapper comes into the house, grabs her from her house, throws her in the back seat and speeds off. He's flying, leaves the house and he's got a gun on his passenger side chair and he's driving like crazy. And this little girl's freaked out, but she just heard this lesson on the power that's in the name of Jesus. So as the guy's flying, she didn't know anything to do. Others say, in the name of Jesus, let me go. In the name of Jesus, you let me go. In the name of Jesus, pull over and let me go. This man was so upset that he kept hearing the name of Jesus. He's telling this little girl, shut up. Stop saying that. Shut up, shut your mouth. She just kept saying, in the name of Jesus, you let me go. In the night, sure enough, after a couple minutes, this man pulled the car over, opened the door, and let her out. Anybody believe today that there's power in the name?
00 You ought to clap like you believe it today. Nothing over your house, nothing over your children, nothing over your body is bigger or stronger than the name of my God. Clap louder if you believe that God has all the authority. He has all the dominion. He has all the power. Clap like you believe that he is who he says he is. And he can do what he said he would do. Come on, Zoe, give him a shout of thanksgiving and give him a shout of praise.
27 He's just in there teaching. He's in there teaching. He's teaching. He's teaching. It might have been the same verse. And this demoniac man who's possessed by a demon says, I know who you are. Jesus says, you come out of him in the name of me. that demon came out didn't even harm that man see we think that the people are the problem it's the evil spirit that's the problem worship team come join me here's now i said it last week i want to say this week again the end of this reading is my favorite part once again two weeks in a row by the way before you come next sunday i want you to read you got homework read luke 5 and luke 6 before you come next sunday at the end of this jesus delivers this this man and watch here these last verses in luke 4 42 it says at daybreak jesus went out to a solitary place and the people were looking for him.
26 And when they came to where he was, they tried to keep him from leaving them. But he said, I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent. And he kept on preaching in the synagogues of Judea. Write down the last point today, private devotion leads to power in public. what a whirlwind what a whirlwind he's baptized he's in the wilderness preaches on a Sunday in a church they lead him out to the cliff we're gonna kill you goes to another church delivers a demon after all this transpires what's Jesus doing? he's slipping away at daybreak to be alone with the Father.
23 is he alone with the father so he could be powerful in public he's alone with the father because he knows that if he gets disconnected he's got nothing going for him some of us need to remember that it's your connection to god that keeps you in the assignment of god do. And at daybreak, when the sun is coming, Jesus slides away because he knows I got to repent today. He knows I need to, I need to get my daily bread today. I need the father like I've never needed him before. And I've never been more dependent. And God, as I go to these cities and as I declare your kingdom. I'm nothing without you.
14 So he did not get into his private devotion simply for public authority. He got into his private devotion because he wanted to be connected to the Father. And I'm grateful today that you and I are not in religion any longer. But because of the blood of Jesus, we are in relationship. and what matters most to me, Zoe, hear me loud and clear. What matters most to me is that you stay connected to the source, that you get rid of anything that would disconnect you from God. Any obstacle, any idol, any person, anything that would disconnect, get rid of it because Jesus is slipping away to say, you know what, I need God. It's not just that I want God today, I need the Father and I need to hear those words once again. I love you, you belong to me, I'm for you, I'm proud of you, I need to hear it.
06 in my ear. Maybe the father knew that he could send Jesus because he knew the character that Jesus would stay dependent upon him. And I want to remind you today, maybe you stopped needing God. That's a lie. you're like i just i got out of the wilderness and i got the fun stuff so i'm doing good now that's what israel said every time israel got out of their problem they turned their back from god that's why it took 40 years now i'm just wondering if you and i could be those people that say god may I never get past the fact that I need you more today than I've ever needed you. I love you and I live for you. Shape me so you can send me. Come on, clap if that's your prayer today.
