27 I want to talk briefly about the name Prince of Peace. For he says, name shall be called Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. these five names given to Jesus by Isaiah prophecies are not repetitious they are not the same thing every name means something different each one describes some attribute of his character as wonderful is the awesome one, the God in the flesh miracle worker. As counselor, he is the advisor of all things good and best.

30 We do well to walk in the path of his direction. as almighty God he is the divine one very God our very God he who knows him knows the father also as everlasting father we understand him to be a provider like a father a protector, a disciplinarian of his children. Everything a good father is, he is. And now as the prince of peace, he gives his divine claim to those who will trust him.

34 He is the Prince of Peace. Shake somebody's hand and say, He is the Prince of Peace. Well, He promised peace. Our world has known such little, real peace. When Isaiah spoke this prophecy over some 2,700 years ago, his nation was threatened with destruction. Always was the rumbling of the war, defeat, and slavery were heard on the distant horizon. Within a generation, the nation would be suffering the bondage of Babylon. Yet, Isaiah held out to the people a magnificent hope.

43 He said, the people that walk in darkness have seen a great light. So that they that dwell, yeah, that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them have the light shown. Isaiah 9 and 2. Where is that light? For unto us a child is born. under us a son is given. His name shall be called Prince of Peace. The Hebrew word for peace is shalom. Was known well enough, so common was it used that it was employed as a greeting of the day.

44 Shalom, shalom. It was used as we would say hello to somebody, to a friend. But the real meaning of the word had eluded the people for a century. The promise of peace had been given many times. For he said, I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid. According to Leviticus 26 and 6, the psalmist had talked about it and said the Lord will bless his people with peace. according to Psalms 29 and 11.

41 Then when Isaiah announced the coming of the Messiah, he said his name, his name would be called Prince of Peace. Yet for all of the promises, there was so little peace. Then finally on that Christmas came peace. Peace came. But let us look at it just a little further. The promise being fulfilled. While the shepherds watched by night. It was a wintery night in old Judea. The shepherds had built a fire in the crevices of the rocks and huddled themselves together to escape the cold. They were the least to expect that this night the Prince of Peace would come because they were just plain old shepherd folk.

57 They were ceremonially unclean. Look at here. They were not allowed inside of the synagogue or the church of that day. They were the nobodies of that day. They could not be called witnesses in a court for who would believe the testimony of a shepherd. They were despised. They were looked down upon and often hated. The Jewish tell them all, says, give no help to the heathen or a shepherd. But there is no such prejudice with God.

52 Thank you, Jesus. Other folk may look down on us. Other folk may criticize us, ostracize us, close doors in our faith and call us nobody. But I'm glad that the Lord loves me. Are you glad? When others reject you, he will accept you. When others put you down, he'll pick you up. Can I get a witness? When others despise you, he still loves you. Shake somebody's hand and say, the Lord loves you. These who were the forgotten among men were not forgotten by God. And sometimes folks that ought to love you, they hate you.

55 People that ought to remember you, they soon forget you. Sometimes we might feel like the shepherds outcast from the world, alone and lonely. somebody tonight feel lonely, feel like they don't have a friend in the world. Yeah, we are denied the nicest tits of life that other folk seem to have. Have you ever worked hard, did everything you thought was right, but look like other people always got along a little better than you. We feel friendliness and loss.

51 Our despair increase until we almost wish life would not have a tomorrow. And let me tell you one thing, my friends, you can get so bogged down in trouble. and depressed that you hate to wake up the next morning. You wish, huh, that tomorrow wouldn't come because every day bring about more trouble. Can I get a witness? But listen to what the scripture says. He gives peace to the humble. Do you believe that? Let me hear you say, he giveth peace to who the humble it is to you, kind to whom God most often revealed himself. While we are rejected, while we are despised and called nobody, sometime the Lord will speak to you.

11 He will reveal himself, not to the high up, not to those that are sophisticated and got a lot going for him, But sometime he'll come to you. Can I get a witness? It was true with the shepherds in the Bethlehem field. The angels sang. Suddenly the darkness of night became as midnight. The angel of the Lord appeared and said, Fear not For behold I bring you Good tithing Of great joy For unto you Is born this day In the city of David A savior Which is Christ The Lord And suddenly There was with the angels our heavenly host praised God and sent glory to God in the high on earth peace and goodwill toward men can I get a witness and then suddenly as the light had come It was soon gone All the way To the manger Those shepherds Must have kept repeating The words of the angels Glory Glory Glory To God In the highest All night All night

17 Goodwill to warn men gonna get a witness they must have thought about it there'll be no more war no hate and no killing no more Roman soldiers in the land but peace peace at the manger they told what the angel had said and everyone was not at the time was the thing really true that was told to them peace on earth looked like there is no peace I don't care where you go as months passed the whole countryside were stirred with the promise of peace.

20 Then one day the Roman legions came to Bethlehem with an order from Aaron. While the people were gathered in the village square, the centurions read the edict. Let all the children of Bethlehem and all of the brothers thereof two years old, of age and under, be slain. Matthew's gospel tells about the tragic story. In raiment was their voice heard, lamentation and weeping and grand mourning. Rachel weeping for children and would not be comforted because they are not.

24 So from a hundred, if you please, broken and bleeding hard, came the wailing. They won it, did the angel lie? No peace, nowhere. Look like the more we think about it, the more trouble. Oh Lord, the Messiah of peace. Jesus is a true prince of peace. The peace that he came to give is peace that passes understanding that are in this world. It's not political peace and peace among nations and peace that outlaws war.

28 It is more than non-aggression. Can I get a witness of a treatise? What is this peace that Jesus came to give? peace peace with God can I get a witness peace with God therefore I hear the scripture saying being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is sin that separates us. Can I get a witness? It is sin that puts a barrier between man and God.

26 This wall of petition destroys the peace. But I hear I am saying there is no peace for the wicked. Sin is the grand disturber. Sin is a constant troublemaker. Sin will wound your heart. It is the source of all disorder. Sin brings about stripes, jealousy and envy. Sin brings about covetousness. Sin brings about hate, war, and killing. Can I get a witness?

22 But Jesus came to destroy the order that sin had set up and bring peace to our dying soul. peace can I get a witness Jesus Jesus he came here to redress and to redeem I heard him that when Jesus was born in Bethlehem the angels they call his name his name Jesus For he shall save his people from their sin. Can I get awareness?

15 Oh, Lord. Oh, Lord. And I want to ask you this evening, do you have peace with God? Do you know this evening that the Lord has forgiven your sin? Peace with God and then the peace of God. Not only does Jesus give us peace with God, but God gives the peace of God. The Bible said, and the peace of God which passes all of unstanding. Yes, shall keep your heart and your mind through Christ Jesus. Yes, when the apostle wrote, thank you Jesus, these words.

20 He was in prison down in Rome. It was cold, it was lightless down in Adonia. But oh, oh Lord, the Lord gave him peace. He will do it. You may not have any heat. You may not have any money. Doors may be closed in your faith. But I know the Lord, he got some peace, not like the world, and folks won't understand him. He gave him calm in the midst of a midnight storm. With everybody, I say everybody, was afraid.

22 When you know the Lord And the Lord is on your side You can stand still The Lord will He'll give you peace Down on the inside Can I get a witness? Yeah

43 family i told you that message was gonna be powerful i told you it was gonna bless your life
