… seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon and our hands have handled concerning the word of life. The life was manifested and we've seen and bear witness and declare to you that eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifest to us. That which we have seen and heard, we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us, and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. That's a kingdom. The question is, are you in that kingdom? I hope, I trust you are, you're here on a Wednesday night. you're really committed. Or you somehow thought this was some other event taking place. But God has pinned your ears to his truth tonight. And then finally, it's this. The concept is universal to all mankind. God is king. He's got a kingdom. And he's coming back. … I want you to listen to what he says in 1 John 2, verses 15 through 17. Don't love the world or the things in the world. Everything that is in the world, the craving for whatever the body feels, the craving for whatever the eyes see and the arrogant pride in one's possessions is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world and its cravings are passing away. But the person who does the will of God remains forever. I think this is interesting. 38 times, I think, in the gospel or in 1 John, 38 times in 1 John, John mentions the word love. Almost always he's telling us to do it. This is the only time where John is telling us not to do it. He says, don't love this. Don't love the wrong thing. Now listen, possessions are okay. Everybody needs possessions. We need clothing. We need shelter. Most of us need transportation. We need food. We need a lot of these things. …
… concerning the capital W word of life. The life was manifested and we have seen and bear witness and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us that which we have seen and heard we declare to you that you also may have fellowship with us. And truly our fellowship is with the Father and therefore with His Son, Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full. This is the message. Someone say, this is the message. Which we have heard from the beginning and declare to you that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus Christ, his son, cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, whack, right? We deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, this is that believer's bar of soap I was telling you about. …
