Reasons Why God Doesn't Answer Prayers - Part 2
John K. Jenkins Sr., 2026-08-12

… It's beneficial to us. Let me read 1 John chapter 3 verse 22. 1 John chapter 3 verse 22. And whatever we ask, we receive from him because we keep his commandments and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. I need to explain this verse to you. And whatever we ask, we receive from him. Whatever we ask God, we can get it from him. Why? Because we keep his commandments. Let me tell you what's significant about that. There's two key words here. The first key word is keep. Somebody say keep. Say it again. We keep. The word keep means guard, protect. And here's what the scripture says. When you get the word, you want God to answer your prayer. He will honor your word. He will honor your prayer when you guard the word that you receive, when you protect the commandment that you receive. Now, this is true because what the devil wants to do, before y'all, when the service is over, y'all leave, before you get home, something's going to happen to try to take that word out of your heart, get you to ignore it, get you not to pay attention to it, get you upset and get you mad and forget about the Word. But the Scripture is saying when you guard it, when you protect it, you don't let the enemy steal it from you. And the enemy is going to try to steal it from you. And so you have to guard it. You have to put protection around it. …

Life at the Pace of the Holy Spirit
Levi Lusko, 2025-09-08

… whatever we ask, we receive from him because we keep his commandments and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. What is he saying? He's saying you're naturally going to, walking with Jesus, closeness to Jesus is going to cause there to be a power that's unleashed in your prayer life. And you're not going to want to use it just for you. You're naturally going to realize, man, such grace, such kindness upon me. I want to use this for other people. Then you're going to start praying in alignment with his will, which is when your prayers become unstoppable. Jesus said the same exact thing. He said in John 15, 7, if you abide in me and my words abide in you, look at this, you will ask whatever you desire and it shall be done for you. When your heart is full of God's words, you're not just like Mercedes-Benz and new job and new clothes, right? Your byproduct of time in his arms with him is going to be your heart so full of his word, that you're praying what God wants you to pray, and those prayers are going to be done in Jesus' name. And let me just tell you, Satan is not and has never been afraid of a big church, but he's scared and terrified of a praying church. And when we take our place in prayer and begin praying in alignment with his will, out of a spirit of humility and dependence, things can change. William Cowper put it this way, Satan trembles when he sees the weakest saint …

God wants us to be in a posture or place to believe His Word. jot down 1 John 3 22 and that this goes with this too and i'm finished 1 John 3 22 says whatever we ask we receive from him because because we keep his commandments and do those things that are pleasing in his sight what does that mean the key word in this verse is the word keep and that word keep means to guard protect it means to to put police officers around it to guard and keep the enemy from stealing it out of your life how many of you know as soon as you get a word from God the devil gonna try to steal it from you he wants you to dismiss it he wants you to reject it but you got to put a guard around it you got to do whatever's necessary to get that word in your heart and put a guard around it and don't let the enemy take it from you. …
