… John 14, verse 15, Jesus says, if, conditional statement, if you love me, then keep my commandments. love drives obedience jesus says if then let me show you another one first john chapter 3 verses 5 and 6 it says and you know that he was manifested that is jesus came into the world to take away our sins and in him there is no sin verse 6 whoever abides in him does not sin whoever sins has neither seen him nor known him. Now I remember these verses absolutely torturing me as a young believer. Maybe you guys remember the same. That when it says there, and you know that he was manifested to take away our sins, but then it says whoever abides in him does not sin, and you immediately begin to think, wait a second, I see myself. I know that I still sin. What is that about? David Guzik is very helpful here. Let me read this quote. David Guzik says this. It is very important to understand what the Bible means and what it does not mean when it says does not sin. …

Time Is Running Out
Levi Lusko, 2025-09-01

… When you are constantly, well, let's let John speak for himself, living deeply. That's 1 John 3, verse 6 in the message translation. Living deeply in Christ, you're not going to make a practice of sin because you're going to be busy doing something. If I keep my stomach full of chicken breast, I'm much less likely to pull through Taco Bell. You see what I'm saying? No one who's living deeply in Christ has an appetite for those other things because it's impossible to worship and sin at the same time. So don't sin less. Walk in the spirit more. Don't try and stop sinning. Try and live a life exalting God and bringing him glory and worshiping in the spirit and being aware of how he's trying to lead you and encourage you and who he wants to bless through you, right? Lastly, if you are in the place today where you're going, wow, I want to do those things. It's hard. I'm struggling. I'm entrenched in these things. …

Holy Spirit Empowered Generosity
Francis Chan, 2018-12-09

… 1 John 3 says this, verse 6. No one who abides in him keeps on sinning. No one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil. For the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. no one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him. And he cannot keep on sinning because he's been born of God. By this it is evident who are the children of God and who are the children of the devil. Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God. nor is the one who does not love his brother. Wow. And look it up for yourself. I'm not making this, this is not my opinion. It's not, oh, here's what I think. It's just, just read it. What does it say? …

Maturing in the Lord

… and in him there is no sin. No one who abides in him keeps on sinning. No one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother. do you see what he's saying there he says when you're born of god his seed enters into you and because he lives inside of you you can't keep sinning because it's just like my children they can't stop looking like me i'm in them my dna is in them in the same way god here is saying whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil. And whoever has the God's seat abiding inside of him. Again, it's about what's inside. Man, church has become this thing where everyone needs an accountability group. And if they don't call you that week, you're going to fall back into your sin. Oh, it's my accountability …

Practicing Righteousness, or Practicing Sin?
Francis Chan, 2018-10-20 · Scripture reading

Man, that's intense. You see what the Bible says? He says, if God's seed abides in you, you cannot keep sinning. See, just like when the Holy Spirit comes into you, you have this affection for Jesus. Like, inside of you, you don't need someone to talk you into prayer. Please, please, just pray for two minutes a day. Just try it. Just read the Bible for three minutes a day. Come on, just do it. You don't need that inside of you. You're screaming, Abba Father, I've got to have more of you. I've got to have more of you. This is the one thing I want is just to be with you. And in the same way, He says if the seed abides in you, you can't keep sinning. Like you don't have to, someone doesn't have to beg you, please, please, End that sexual relationship. Stop that pornography. Why? Because God's Spirit is already saying that to you. And he says it so clearly. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil. …
