The Invisible War
Skip Heitzig, 2026-09-06

… into the world you know he came into the world to stop and arrest the devil's grip on people's lives listen to it first John 3 8 for this purpose the son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil. That's why he is here with this man, to destroy the works of the devil, to rescue him. In the synagogue at Nazareth, our Lord went in and he preached a sermon. You remember in Luke chapter 4, he's quoting Isaiah 61. He said, the spirit of the Lord God is upon me. He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, to set at liberty those who are oppressed. That's what we're seeing happening here. So he casts him out. I'm going to take you ahead again to verse 15 this time. And notice afterwards, they came to Jesus, saw the one who had been demon possessed and had the legion sitting and clothed. That's important. Luke says the man was living a long time in the tombs and he was naked. So he's exposed to the elements. Now he's sitting and he's clothed and in his right mind, in his right mind, in full control of his senses, attentive, alert, smiling at all the right places. This is a mark of Jesus' touch. …

Time Is Running Out
Levi Lusko, 2025-09-01

… little children let no one deceive you he who practices righteousness is righteous just as he is righteous he who sins is of the devil for the devil has sinned from the beginning for this purpose the son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for his seed remains in him. And he cannot sin because he's been born of God. In this, the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest. Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. and so God we ask that as we now consider your word which is high we esteem it we honor it we tremble before God we're not going to flippantly oh well what do we think we want to acknowledge God what we've just read is your eternal word and so now in this moment God this precious gift of the present as we have the opportunity and the honor to think about your word to let it frame how we view the world. …

Totally Transformed (Ephesians 4:17-24)
John MacArthur, 2022-03-13

been created in the image of the One who created everything. On the other hand, verse 8 says, the one who practices sin is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose to destroy the works of the devil. No one who is born of God practices sin because his seed abides in him, God's seed, and he He cannot sin because he is born of God. The old is dead. The new has come. By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious. Anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother. It's not that hard to distinguish people. What do you mean? You mean they never sinned? No, they don't practice unrighteousness. If you practice unrighteousness, you give evidence of being of the devil. If that's the pattern of your life, then you're not converted. Whatever you think you may have prayed or whatever emotional connection you thought you had with Jesus. …

If you don't practice the righteousness laid out by God in His Word and show love for others, if you're a hater and you're vicious and you're vengeful and you're destructive and you're lawless, you're a child of the devil. Children of the devil and the children of God can't make a partnership. That has to do with behavior. The next comparison has to do with character, or what fellowship has light with darkness? …

Practicing Righteousness, or Practicing Sin?
Francis Chan, 2018-10-20 · Scripture reading

Man, that's intense. You see what the Bible says? He says, if God's seed abides in you, you cannot keep sinning. See, just like when the Holy Spirit comes into you, you have this affection for Jesus. Like, inside of you, you don't need someone to talk you into prayer. Please, please, just pray for two minutes a day. Just try it. Just read the Bible for three minutes a day. Come on, just do it. You don't need that inside of you. You're screaming, Abba Father, I've got to have more of you. I've got to have more of you. This is the one thing I want is just to be with you. And in the same way, He says if the seed abides in you, you can't keep sinning. Like you don't have to, someone doesn't have to beg you, please, please, End that sexual relationship. Stop that pornography. Why? Because God's Spirit is already saying that to you. And he says it so clearly. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil. …
