Christian – Is That You ?
Jack Hibbs, 2026-07-29

… praying exceedingly that we may see your face and perfect what is lacking in your faith. Now, may our God and Father himself and the Lord Jesus Christ direct our way to you. And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all just as we do to you. Here it is, verse 13. So that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints. Watch this. He said, well, Jack, wait a minute. Isn't that the second coming? No, it is not. And we'll see it in a moment. Remember this in your head. Jesus Christ, the Bible says, is coming back with all his saints. You say, well, doesn't that mean us? It depends on the context. 1 Thessalonians 4
Skip Heitzig, 2026-03-25

… Chapter three ends with a doxology of sorts, a prayer, really. If you remember, will just draw your attention. Verse 11, now may our God, Father himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ direct our way to you. He's making that a prayer. We want to see you again in Thessalonica. We want to come and visit you again. That's his prayer. But there's three words as he ends chapter three that form for us a preview of chapter four. He says, And may the Lord, verse 12, make you increase and abound in love, that's one word, to one another and to all, just as we do to you, so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness, that's word number two, love, holiness, before our God and Father at the coming. That's the third word. The coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all of his saints. Holiness, love, and coming. That's the outline for chapter 4. Look at those verses that we just read as a trailer, like a movie trailer. …

1 Thessalonians 2:13-3:13
Skip Heitzig, 2026-03-18

… raise his hands and give glory and thanks to God for something. He does that here. Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus Christ direct our way to you and may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all just as we do to you. I got to draw your attention to something. In verse 11, notice how it is worded. It is worded very carefully. Now may our God and Father himself, God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, so he's speaking of two different entities, then direct our way to you. you have plural nouns, two nouns. You have a singular verb to emphasize the deity of Christ and the unity of the Godhead. Father and Son, Holy Spirit isn't mentioned. Don't let that bother you. Jesus said the Holy Spirit kind of stays in the background, doesn't draw attention to himself, points to Jesus. He's pointing to Jesus. So if a person's always talking about Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, I'm kind of thinking it's not the Holy Spirit. …
