By the word of the Lord, we declare to you that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who have fallen asleep. For this we tell you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will in no way precede those who have fallen asleep. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we that are alive, that are left unto the coming of the Lord, shall in no wise precede them that are fallen asleep.

Christian – Is That You ?
Jack Hibbs, 2026-07-29

Verse 15. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with the shout, with the voice of the archangel and the trumpet of God and the dead in Christ will rise first. Their bodies will rise first. If there's anything that we could add to this carefully, it would be their bodies will rise first because he's bringing those saints with him remember I told you about my mom? Her body is in the ground. She's with Jesus right now, tonight. When he comes, he brings her with him, but her body's gonna be resurrected out of the ground. That's, yes. Verse 17, then, watch this, then, that's a timestamp, then, it means a lot. Then, time, then, we who are alive and remain, shall be what? Caught up. The word's rapture in Latin. Anybody have a Latin Bible? …

The Coming Of The King – Part 3
Jack Hibbs, 2026-06-03

… Paul wrote to the Thessalonians, but I do not want you to be ignorant or uninformed, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, believers who have died, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who sleep in Jesus, speaking of the body. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep or who died before us. In other words, we're not going to go up before those who died. Their body's going to be resurrected and then we're going to follow them up. Watch this. For the Lord himself would descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel. And here it comes again. This is that last trump. There's only two trumps. Not two trumps. There's a lot of trumps. Two trumpets. I don't know why I said trump. There's the first and the second, first and the last trump. …

The Coming Of The King – Part 2
Jack Hibbs, 2026-05-27

… This is important. I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, believers who have died, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. Lee, listen carefully. And Tina, if she's in here tonight, listen carefully. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who sleep or died in Jesus. for this we say to you by the word of the Lord that we who are alive and remain hello suddenness until the coming of the Lord will by no means proceed those who have fallen asleep or died for the Lord himself will descend from heaven with the shout with the voice of the archangel and the trumpet of God and the dead in Christ will rise first then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them, wow, in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And of course, based on John 14, verses 1, 2, and 3, and thus we shall always be with the Lord. …

Jesus is Returning I Jentezen Franklin
Jentezen Franklin, 2026-04-13

… Hallelujah. You see, 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 and verse 15 says, This we say unto you, not by somebody's prophecy, but by the word of the Lord. That's the Lord saying, I'm going to make sure there's a reunion. I'm going to rescue you out of this world. I love that the scripture said he has not appointed us under wrath. You can go through the tribulation if you want to. Your pastor's not going through it. I found in the scripture where he's going to take me out. He's going to then we'll begin the moment the church is raptured. Suddenly tens of millions of people will vanish, vanish into thin air. Confusion will hit. People will turn and look, where's my baby? Where's my husband? Where's my wife? They will be gone by the millions. They will panic. The world will go into chaos. The economies will collapse. Can you imagine what will happen to the systems of this world? Millions and instantly, instantly that will begin. As soon as the church is taken out, that will begin the great tribulation for seven years. …

1 Thessalonians 4
Skip Heitzig, 2026-03-25

… Verse 13, we launch into it. But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. for if we believe that Jesus died and rose again even so God will bring with him those who sleep in Jesus for this we say to you by the word of the Lord don't worry we're going to go back over all those phrases that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep for the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of an archangel, with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore, comfort one another with these words. I wanted to read to the end so that I could technically say no matter when we stop tonight that I have finished the chapter it's my little cheetah moany thing that I do. Okay, so back to verse 13, I do not want you to be ignorant. I've discovered whenever Paul uses this terminology, I don't want you to be ignorant about something. It's generally an area that Christians are the most ignorant of. …

Final Judgment Launched (Revelation 8:1-5)
John MacArthur, 2024-04-14

… Verse 14, we believe Jesus died and rose again, and we also believe that God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. He will gather those who are believers and who have died. This we say to you by the word of the Lord. So this is a new revelation, really. This is a mystery as far as the Old Testament is concerned. This is a completely different event than the day of the Lord. And here is the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain living believers until the coming of the Lord will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore, comfort one another with these words. This isn't talking about judgment. …

Scared to Death (Revelation 6:12-17)
John MacArthur, 2024-03-03

… For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will not precede those who have fallen asleep. The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words." comes to the earth. Believers go to heaven. Amen. Because we are not of the darkness. We are sons of light, sons of the day, and we are not destined for wrath. Jesus said, I go to prepare what? A place for you, and if I prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself. …
