Into The Dark Realm – Part 3
Jack Hibbs, 2026-09-16

… I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And he said to me, my grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Look at Paul's response. Therefore, most gladly, I will rather boast in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Listen, if you're going through something right now, even if it's an attack from the enemy. Number one, we know this, it's gotta be father filtered. Number two, God is working some great plan out for his glory and for your maturity. And listen, no matter what that thing is, remember you raised your hand a moment ago indicating that you're a Christian. Whatever is going on, how painful, how strenuous it is, body, soul, and spirit, God wants you to learn that his power will rest upon you in a way that otherwise couldn't come. So much so that Paul says, really, that's it? Messenger of Satan to beat me up and to keep me humble because of the revelation God gave me and God wants to use me? Okay then, bring it. I will rejoice in my weaknesses because I know this, when I'm weak, the power of God will be upon my life. So bring it on. You could not stop the man Paul. By the way, you couldn't stop the man Job after he went through the fire either. …

… with it. he said to me, my grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, most gladly, I will rather boast in my infirmities that the power of God may rest upon me. I'm going to boast in weakness that the power of God would rest upon me. Verse 10, I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, I am strong. I don't know if this is making sense to you or not. Let me just illustrate it this way. There are times where the power of God is displayed because of the aggressive obedience of the servant to the Lord. I've seen moments where where I've got friends, they've just aggressively stepped into a place. In fact, I have one friend who preached to this entire crowd and told them, you know, like, if this blind person is not healed, I will renounce this gospel. Thankfully, his whole team was going, oh, no. …

… my grace is sufficient my power is made perfect in weakness and so Paul responds therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses so that the power of Christ may rest upon me for when I am weak then am I strong Paul's gladness in the midst of suffering makes God's grace look great I will all the more gladly boast not grace to borrow what is not bliss nor flight from all distress but this the grace that orders our trouble and pain and then in the darkness is there to sustain he's not going to take it away folks this is why I'm preaching this I would like young people to just settle it when the crisis comes, when the darkness comes, when the horrible phone call comes, mom is dead. I got that call at age 28. She was in a car accident. When that phone call comes, I want you to know what's going on. I want you to know what resources are at your disposal, what God might be up to in the big picture. …

Glitch or Feature? - J.D. Greear
J.D. Greear, 2026-01-27 · Scripture reading

It's such a powerful statement. My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Again, one more time. My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then, then I am strong. This is the word of God for the people of God. Thanks be to God indeed. You may be seated. You may be seated. Does anybody else in here feel like it's super embarrassing when a Pixar movie really gets you in the feels? Like when Buzz rejects Woody's counsel and gets himself in serious trouble, but then Woody risks everything anyway to come and rescue him because you've got a friend in me. Or when Andy discards his toys and he goes off to college. …

… read it again, by the grace of God, I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. Second Corinthians 12, verse nine, but he said to me, my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that Christ's power may rest on me, may rest on me. Grace will, I'm telling you, it will save you. Grace will shape you. It will strengthen you. The power of Jesus will get all over your life and give you the strength to say no to the wrong thing and yes to the right thing. Grace will give you the power to break this addiction and to create a new addiction. Grace will give you the strength to overcome bitterness and to walk in the power of forgiveness. Grace will give you the ability to say no to your old life. And come on, clap and praise him today. He'll save you. …

On the Way, Already Home
Michael Zeigler, 2025-09-27

… in using small people, small events, small things, five loaves, two fish. I go back to this verse a lot in 2 Corinthians 12, verse 9, where God says, my power is made perfect in weakness. And if you want a summary of the Bible, and if you want a guide for your life, that's a pretty good verse. God's power is made perfect in weakness. And another way to say that is going to like James 4, 1 Peter 5. God opposes the proud but gives grace, right, to the humble. Numbers chapter 12, verse 3, where it says, Moses is the humblest person on the face of the earth. So there you go. The lowliest, the lowliest. And you can see that really throughout the book of Numbers. Well, thank you so much for being here with us. So if you needed another reason to go and read the book of Numbers, with the help of Dr. Lessing's book titled Hope in the Wilderness, you've got this beautiful picture of Jesus. …

… God used Satan to accomplish that 2 Corinthians chapter 12 verse 7 through 10 Paul, there was given me a thorn in my flesh a messenger of who? a messenger of Satan given to me, a messenger of Satan to drive me to trust in the strength that God provides. God used Satan to teach Paul to trust in his grace and his sufficiency. One more example, 1 Timothy chapter 1 verse 20. Hymenaeus and Alexander, they have been handed over to Satan, uses the same language. I have handed them over to Satan so that they would be taught not to blaspheme. God has a purpose in this, and there's a lot of questions there. That's for those three or four sermons. There's a lot of questions there. It's mind-boggling to say the least, but the picture is God is sovereign over Satan, and God is, first, ultimate picture here is the purity of the church, but this is for the good of an individual, that being cast out of the church, he would see the severity of sin, that he would feel the consequences of not being united to the body of Christ. …

… give you the grace that's found in Jesus. You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is found in Jesus. Watch what Paul says to the church in Corinth. He says, and he said to me, my grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, most gladly, I will rather boast in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me. How do you get God's grace to rest on your business, to rest on your home? How do you get God's grace to rest on your life? You admit that without him, you are weak. Without him, you are insecure. Without him, you cannot make this happen. But by the grace that is found in Jesus, I am who I am and I can become who he's called me to become. Oh, come on, give him a clap of Thanksgiving today. you then my son be strong in the grace that's in christ so even if i'm weak and i feel like man i want to quit i want to quit on uh my city or my marriage or my kids or fill in the blank i i can't do this you ever notice that when you come into church or you come into god's presence you walk in one way, but you leave changed? Because you didn't encounter Zoe, you encountered grace. …

Grace is God at Work - Louie Giglio
Louie Giglio, 2024-12-02

… in the middle of this, this is in second Corinthians 12 in verse nine, right in the middle of him telling all of this. He says, but he said to me, and then it's in red after that, Jesus interjecting, my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. So I'm not taking your thorn away. You know why? Because there's grace for that. and it's going to keep you close. It's going to keep you humble, but it's also going to give you the opportunity to show my glory because my power is going to be made perfect and weakness. So Paul goes on and says, therefore I'll boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses. And I want you to watch me carefully here. Watch the text. He says, I'll boast all the more gladly about my my weaknesses so that, this is the most important little phrase in this passage, so that Christ's power may rest on me. This power that is made perfect in weakness, I want it to be made perfect in my weakness. In other words, I'm not going to hide my weakness. …
