… That's good. Verse 12, and it was told King David, the Lord has blessed all the household of Obed-Edom and all that belongs to him because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the city of David with rejoicing. with rejoicing. And when the Lord, sorry, and when those who bore the ark of the Lord had gone six steps, he sacrificed an ox and a fattened animal. And David danced before the Lord with all his might. And David was wearing a linen afad. So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the horn. I love this about David. After meeting and experiencing the fear of the Lord, after Uzzah dies, he goes back to the house of Obed-Edom and he's not shy. He's not bashful. … they just let it dwell in their midst So David was told, the Lord has blessed the household of Obed-Edom and everything he has because of the Ark of God. So David went to bring up the Ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the city of David with rejoicing. When those who were carrying the Ark of the Lord had taken six steps, he sacrificed a bull and a fattened calf. And then wearing a linen ephah, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might, while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts and with the sounds of trumpets. Wow. So the fourth point in this talk today is that we need to be careful not to do God's things man's way. This is so powerful in this story. This is the whole point of the talk, by the way, today. God didn't tell them to put the Ark of the Covenant on a cart. That was the Philistines' plan. …

… and the Lord blessed him and his entire household. Now, King David was told the Lord has blessed the household of Obed-Edon and everything he has because of the ark of God. So David went out to bring the ark of God from the house of Obed-Eden to the city of David with rejoicing. Those who were carrying the ark of the Lord had taken six steps. He sacrificed a bull, a fattened calf, wearing a linen ephod. David was dancing before the Lord with all his might, while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts and sounds of trumpets. That's a bad situation turned good. This is the word of God. You may be seated. In 1981, Steven Spielberg hit a blockbuster run with Indiana Jones. Raiders of the Lost Ark. I know Spielberg had been reading around the Old Testament to come up with this. This wouldn't be new language to somebody like him. Indiana is an archaeologist and he's given one big job go find the Ark of the Covenant rescue it from the hands of the Nazis whoever possesses it has the power whose military will be strong enough to be undefeated now I saw some of you check out I'm not preaching about Indiana Jones and I'm sure that the writer of this historical narrative didn't have Indiana Jones in mind when he wrote it. …
