… soul and your whole life. You need to be saved. Notice the last verse on your outline, 2 Timothy 1, verse 8 and 9. And I love the message translation says this, we can only keep on going. We can only keep on going after all by the power of God, the power of God who first saved us. Now, before you can have the power of God in your daily life, you gotta let God save you. He first saves you, and then he gives you the power for daily living. Now, if you're not sure whether you've been saved or not, it would be my honor right now to lead you in a prayer of salvation, if you're not sure. Let's just settle this issue for once and for all, your eternal destiny, all right? So let's all bow our heads together, and I'm gonna pray a simple prayer. … He continues in the very next verse, Therefore, do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me, his prisoner. And then in 2 Timothy chapter 2, You, therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Jesus Christ. I think Timothy was experiencing fear. I think he was beginning to be ashamed of Paul as a prisoner of Rome. Ashamed of the ministry. Hesitant. And I just think that was his natural inclination. But he's pointing out Onesiphorus was not. He took a risk. Can you think of somebody who took a risk on you? Who stood up for you? And then follow that question up with this. Is there somebody the Holy Spirit might be tapping on your heart about that you should take a risk on them? there's a lot of people I've taken risks on in my ministry career. I've been burned by some. I've been blessed by others. They're worth it. So refreshing, repetitious, risk-taking. A fourth word that describes Onesiphorus, he was resolute. Resolute. Verse 17. Look how Paul writes it. When he arrived in Rome, he sought me out very zealously and found me. Other translations say he took great pains to find me, searching everywhere until he was successful. This guy was unrelenting. First of all, he left Ephesus to go to Rome. That's over 800 miles. That's quite a trip. …
