Meditating on God’s Presence
David Platt, 2026-08-12

… is not just God with us. What is Colossians 1.27 says? This is the mystery of the gospel. Christ in you, the hope of glory. So just picture this. Here we got, I'm going to bring in the spirit here, okay? So there's the spirit. Can you see the spirit? It says spirit. So this is the spirit. So picture the spirit of Christ. The spirit of Christ who raised Jesus from the dead comes to live inside of you. So Ephesians 1 says he's a deposit in you. guaranteeing your eternal redemption. So you are sealed with the Spirit of Christ inside of you. So just meditate on this. Let this soak in right where you're sitting. Christian, you put your faith in Christ. Even this woman this morning from Ukraine, she put your faith in Christ. At that moment, the Spirit of Christ comes to dwell inside of her. You have the Spirit of God living in you. Right where you're sitting, dwelling. God's Spirit, the Spirit of Christ living in you. …

Speak Boldly – Part 3
David Platt, 2026-01-21

… God became flesh and dwelt among us and that continues through each of our lives Christ is in us Colossians 1 27 he lives in us he dwells in us his presence dwelling in us and so at the core of our being as believers is the character of Christ. Now, the second circle outside of that, let's call the conscience. And the conscience, if you want to write some notes out by the side there, the way we think, the way we feel, the way we believe, what we believe. Now, all of those things are obviously affected by the character of Christ in us, right? When Christ comes in us, he changes the way we feel. He changes our desires. He changes what we believe. Everything now revolves around the character of Christ that's in us, that affects our conduct, our conscience. Let's go to the third circle. That would be our conduct. That's the way we behave or act, the things we do. Now see how the progression goes here. The way we act, what we do, the way we behave is completely based on what we think and feel and believe. We always live out our faith. We may say we believe something, but if we're not living it out, we really probably don't believe it. Whatever is at the core of our values and what we believe and what we think and what we feel is going to affect the way we act. …

Share The Word
David Platt, 2025-10-15

… That Christ lives in us. Christ in you, Colossians 1.27 says, the hope of glory. Christ is making himself known through us. We are his hands. We are his feet. We are his mouthpieces. We are the word made flesh today. That's why he prayed over and over again for these guys. It's almost as if Jesus is saying to the Father, Father, it is best for your glory that you bring me back to you because when you do, then I will show the word made flesh in each one of these guys as they go out into the world. And the incarnation will continue over and over and over again. and here we're getting to the heart of disciple making we know scripture's clear that we were all created to bring glory to God how do you do that how do you glorify God and the picture is you let the word become flesh in you in your life and you let Christ live through you and him become a reality in and through you on a daily on a weekly basis and so that's the foundation as a result the word is at the center of disciple making the word and the sense of the person of christ living in us as well as the word that we're about to read in just a second that shows the emphasis on his actual words his commands so with that foundation here's what i want us to dive into the first component of disciple making that we're going to see here in john chapter 17 component number one …
