God's Will Is What?
Levi Lusko, 2026-10-05

… or living to make Jesus famous. The text for this, Jenny, read Colossians 3.17. Colossians 3.17, it says, and whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. That is so incredibly comprehensive because there's no wiggle room. There's no area of your life left out. There's no confusion. There's nothing gray. He says, hey, whatever you do in any area, if it's a word or a deed, so that's all of life. Anything you say or anything you do with your body, anything at all, everything at all, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Paul will double down on this when he writes his letter to the Corinthians. He will say, therefore, whether you eat or drink, or again, say it with me, whatever you do, do it to the glory of God. Our good friend, Pastor Louis Giglio, a long time ago, we heard communicate around this and it completely changed everything. …

YOU ARE WHAT YOU WORSHIP
Brad Hughes, 2026-05-17

… God publicly. And then this whole thing just gets better and better as we worship God perpetually. Colossians 3.17 says, and whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of our Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. He says, whatever you do, whatever you do, if you're a homemaker, then make that home to the best of your ability. Make it amazing. If you're running a business, then run that business to the glory of God. If you work a nine to five, then do such a good job that you are undeniable that people will take notice so that it points people to Jesus. Whatever you do on the pickleball court, in the gym, wherever you go, be excellent in everything that you do so that it will point people to Jesus and get this as you continue to worship God perpetually in your day-to-day life, in every single moment when you bring Jesus to do the dishes with you, when you bring Jesus to mow the lawn with you, when you bring Jesus everywhere you go, Jesus will begin to give you a passion for what he's passionate about. …

Sinclair Ferguson: Progressive Holiness
Sinclair Ferguson, 2025-12-03

… like what he says in Colossians chapter 3, and it's exactly what he says in Colossians chapter 3. And if you have a modern version, almost certainly Colossians chapter 3, verse 17 verses will be divided into three sections. And the three sections build on each other. In the first four verses, Paul is helping us to understand what it really means to be a Christian. From verse 5 to verse 11, he is telling us, because we are united to the crucified Christ, there is going to be an ongoing crucifixion of the flesh. and since we are also united to a risen Christ, there is also going to be an ongoing and progressive transformation into the likeness of Jesus Christ in which we will participate until glory. And the first four verses are really significant because I think we can put it this way, that what the Apostle Paul is teaching the Colossians here is that in Jesus Christ, we've been given a new identity. He says, you notice, beginning of chapter three, if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above. …
