… as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord, as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Amen. Yeah, that's good. That's good. You got it, Kendall. I know, I know, but you can do this. Truthfully, I think for me, it's kind of simple. I think of, so I'm from Mississippi, kind of raised on a farm. So like plants are like my thing. So when I think of roots, like your roots grab nutrients in the ground as you grow. And so I think of just like ensuring that we're in every situation as we spread our roots and as we deal with like different life challenges, what piece of nutrients are we going to pull from what we're connected to? Because that to me is just ultimately like what it means to be rooted is continuing to grab those pieces of nutrients that are going to help you to grow. and then, you know, on top of the surface, if your roots are strong, you know, you can deal with any type of storm, any type of weather. …
… Let me show you some scriptures. The Bible says in Colossians 3.24, Know, you can know this for a fact, not wish or hope, know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward for serving Christ. Where? That's in heaven. You're gonna be given inheritance. You're a child of God. You're a child of the heavenly father. You're in God's family. And God gives an inheritance to his children when they finally arrive at the home that he created for them. It's created for you. Heaven was created for you. And he says there will be this great inheritance. What kind of inheritance? Well look at this verse. First Peter chapter one verse four. God has reserved a priceless inheritance. It's bigger than any IRA or retirement payout you could possibly have here on earth. God has reserved a priceless inheritance for his children and it is kept in heaven for you. I don't know if you knew that or not. But when you get to heaven, you're not just gonna get there, you're gonna be honored, you're gonna be rewarded, and you're going to receive your inheritance based on how you lived your life for Christ. …
… but with sincerity of heart fearing the Lord. Whatever you do, work heartily as for the Lord and not for men. Knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. for the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there's no partiality. Masters, treat your slaves justly and fairly, knowing that you have a master in heaven. I think the main point of this text can be summed up like this. Christians so first slaves and masters but all of you if you're a Christian magnify the supreme lordship of Christ in the way you serve in the subordinate lordships of this world that's the main point I think of the text let me say it another way we exist to make much of the greatness of Christ by the way we submit to the fading structures of this world. And they are all fading. Government as we know it and democracy as we know it will be no more when King Jesus comes. …
