… Expose the enemy. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. It's your fight and mine. And then resist. Resist the enemy. The Bible tells us in James chapter 4 verse 7, Submit yourselves then to God. Resist the devil and he will. say it with me, flee from you. As you've heard me say a million times, we're not fighting for victory. We've already won. We're fighting from it. So don't act like a loser. Satan cannot go toe-to-toe with you or me because we have Jesus. We have the dynamite power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. So we fight, we identify, we expose, we resist, we confront, okay? We hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught so that he can encourage others of sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it. And then we engage. This is the sixth thing. We engage with the fight. The Bible says in Ephesians chapter six, verse 13, therefore put on the full armor of God so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground. Sounds pretty tough to me, doesn't it? And after you've done everything to stand. …
… A deadly myth when it comes to this issue. You might write down Ephesians chapter 5 verse 11. Ephesians chapter 5 verse 11 teaches. Paul's saying there that we not only avoid works of darkness we don't just avoid works of darkness but we oppose works of darkness we don't just avoid evil we act against evil we don't just passively by when surrounded by evil we avoid and we act and so this is where I don't know what this means for your life I don't know what this means for your family. Still walking through even what this means for my life and my family. And I don't know what this means completely for us as a church in the days ahead. But I want to call us tonight, based on what we've seen in the Word, I want to call you, Christian, first look around to learn the facts about abortion. Let tonight be a start. we've got brookhills.org rotating feature children yet unborn tonight, this week, sometime go there, click on it, you've got a whole page there with resources stuff where you can find, let this catapult you into don't be the person who just says I don't want to know all that's going on in a concentration camp I don't want to know all that's going on and this over here. …
… Ephesians 5, starting at verse 8, For you were formerly darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light, for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth. trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them. For it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light. For everything that becomes visible is light. For this reason it says, Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine upon you. Now the text compares light and darkness, obviously. There are essentially two commands. One is a positive command in verse 8, Walk as children of light. The second is a negative command in verse 11, do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness. So darkness and light are set against each other. Now the context for this, as you well know, began in chapter 4 as we began to look at the practical instruction of the Spirit of God through the Apostle Paul for living the Christian life, for walking through the world in a way that honors the Lord. And we have talked about walking worthy. We have talked about walking in unity. We have talked about walking in purity, walking in integrity, last time walking in love, and now we have come to walking in light, Just another way to perceive the life of the believer. …
