… We have the awareness. and the assignment. Here's what God said. Exodus chapter three, verse 10. He goes, Moses, I am sending you. Drop the mic. I'm sending you. You're standing on holy ground. Take your sandals off. I am sending you. And that's what he's saying to you and me. He's sending us. He's sending us. Now here's where Moses just gets into this, this, this long, long diatribe of excuses and he over talks to God. Now, the good part is when, when, when, when God said, Moses, Moses, Moses said, here I am. And that pretty much is what we should say. That's, that's all we got. Cause God's not concerned about our ability, but our availability. He'll give us the ability. I mean, if I'd thought about my ability, I would have never, ever, ever done what God has allowed me to do. It's because of my availability. It's not my ability, but I've discovered that when we're available, God will give us the aptitudes and gifts and abilities to do what he wants us to do. But look at these excuses very, very quickly and run through them. This is God calling and check out what he's saying. Who am I? God, Exodus chapter three, verse 11. Well, that was really the wrong question. You should have thought, man, God, who are you? Exodus 4.1. What if they don't believe me or listen to me? This is scenario sickness, isn't it? Exodus chapter four, verse 10. I've never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you've spoken to your servant. I'm slow of speech …
… Now, therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppressed them. Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh, that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt. But Moses said to God, Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt? So he said, I will certainly be with you, and this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you. When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain. Then Moses said to God, Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is his name? What shall I say to them? And God said to Moses, I am who I am. And he said, thus you shall say to the children of Israel, I am has sent me to you. …

But Moses said to God, If I come to the Israelites and say to them, the God of your ancestors has sent me to you, and they ask me, what is his name? What shall I say to them? God said to Moses, I am who I am. He said further, thus you shall say to the Israelites, I am has sent me to you. … So now go. I am sending you, Moses, to Pharaoh to bring who? To bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt. God gave them the land, but the people belong to him. And he's saying that to you today. I want to lead you into a full life. But you've got to understand right now that if you're in Christ, you belong to me. So I'm not working over here as an agent on your behalf to get all the things you want out of life. No, you are working as an agent on my behalf to possess the land that I've given you and bring glory to God. Completely different viewpoint. And it leads us to Paul in the New Testament. This is you and me. This is now our promised land. Paul preaching about Jesus, going from place to place, telling people this new gospel power. He says, but thanks be to God who always leads us as captives in Christ's triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. …
… So, Moses, you go. Now I am sending you to Pharaoh, the most powerful person on earth, to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt. And Moses said to God, after all of that, who am I? Who am I? What? Pharaoh? Me? Hmm? Who am I? Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt? And, you know, God's kind of like, I don't know. I think I just said, I've seen, I have heard, I'm concerned, I've come down, I'm choosing you. I am going to do this. But Moses missed all that and said, who am I that I should go to Pharaoh? And I want you to look at the pep talk God gave him. And God said, I will be with you. Isn't that awesome? He didn't say, you know, come on, Moses. I'm going to send you to this self-improvement program. I'm going to pay for it. It's 12 sessions. You'll go there. You can get them online if you don't want to go. …
… are oppressing them so now go I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt enokeyÉ goed That was all great until we got to this part. isn't it a paradox it's a good and spacious land oh by the way the amorites are there they'll rip your head off the canaanites they're fierce the jebusites why didn't he just say it's a good and spacious land and i've got rid of all the problems because he wanted them to believe all in the journey that the same God who gave them the land, who parted the sea, who let them walk on dry ground, who gave them cloud by day and fire by night and manna on the ground was the same God who would lead them in victory over every opposition challenge that they would face in their journey, that the same God was the God that was going to give them victory. And if he'd said to them on day one, come on, tell me if you agree with me. …
… We're going to be in Exodus chapter 3 today. Exodus chapter 3 and verse 10. and we're picking up in this unusual scripture of Moses encountering God. And Moses encounters God in the middle of a desert in the form of a burning bush and God is trying to elicit Moses' yes. And so this is on the end of that conversation and Moses has some issues saying yes to God like I think a lot of us do. It starts like this in verse 10. So now go, I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt. But Moses said to God, who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt? And God said, I will be with you and this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you. When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on the mountain. Verse 13, Moses said to God, suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, the God of your fathers has sent me to you. …
I believe there are many of us, maybe not all of us, who would find ourselves in a moment like that. And so today I want to continue that from Exodus chapter 3, verses 1 through 11. and all the bible school students already know who we're talking about today somebody say moses moses we grew up singing a song in church called pharaoh pharaoh oh baby let my people go and then if you really got into it you would go uh yeah yeah yeah yeah it was to the tune of louie louie i don't want to get a copyright strike on youtube so i won't sing it but we would do that Pharaoh, Pharaoh, oh baby, let my people go. And then everybody would go, uh. And a quick story, one time I was 17 years old, just getting started in ministry. And I was leading that for the youth. And one of the parents was really uptight and she walked in and she saw how I had all the kids going, uh. And she said, don't do that again. That's not a holy, that's not a holy gesture. …
… And then in one second, he says, now go. I'm sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites out. And as soon as he says that, all the hope that we had, somebody stuck a pin in that. And it just started going. Just like that. It's like when God comes to us and he says, I promise you. And then all of a sudden, in one little turn, we're like, oh, wait a minute. I'm not sure if I can do that. Oh, wait a minute. I'm not sure if I'm able. I'm not sure if I'm the right person. I don't have the confidence to do that. And then all the hope dissipates, just like that. So how do you get the hope back? where you find out what the hope was rooted in to start with. And God said, probably one of my top 10 favorite verses in scripture. And God said, Moses, bro. or bruh you can do it. I believe in you. and God said, say it with me, I will be with you. The end. I'm sorry, Moses. You're the agent. …
