… And they are living contrary to the word and it's obvious. Galatians 6.1 tells us, if a fellow believer is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual, you who are righteous, should restore that person gently. Restore, restore, meaning help bring them back to righteousness. Not rebuke, restore. Our goal is to restore, not to be angry. And the Bible says, but be careful or you might be tempted. In other words, you don't come in high, hot, heavy, and proud. You're coming in humble, gently, trying to restore them toward righteousness. Now let's say they're not a believer. Different approach. Colossians 4, 5, and 6 says this, be wise in the way you act toward outsiders, non-believers. Let your conversations always be full of grace. In other words, if someone's not a believer, they didn't sign up for your beliefs. So who are you to try to hold them to it? Your first goal is not to correct their behavior, but to help them find the grace and love of Jesus who changes them. …

… and the protection of the church officers that as they lead they may do so as pastor nathan pointed out to us from galatians chapter 6 and verse 1 to do discipline in a spirit of gentleness we need to uphold our elders tonight they represent the lord to us and they're doing his work and oh how we must pray for them pray for their protection their marriages their families for their own walk, that they would guard their heart and their doctrine. The second thing we must pray for is our pastors to preach the word, that they will not give in to false doctrine or water down the gospel or get caught up in the trendy way of preaching that you can find any time on TV. folks, we're at a sweet spot here at Christ's covenant. Our senior pastor is a student of the word, and he walks with the Lord, and we know that. Oh, we must pray for him, and for all of us that serve along with him, that we walk in obedience and truth. …

Nathan George | Imitation of Good
Nathan George, 2026-08-03

How we do this, well, that could be a whole sermon unto itself. But let it suffice to be reminded of Galatians 6, verse 1. Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Even Paul, who as you know if you've spent any time in the New Testament, even Paul, so bold in writing, he says, I'm humble face to face. There may be a time to name names, but there is never a time to lose the humility it takes to watch over your own life and doctrine. It's always good to double-check your own heart. Maybe Diotrephes was legitimately hurt at some point. Maybe you have been legitimately hurt at some point. And so when you're in the midst of a tussle with a spouse, a friend, a child, a church, it's good to ask yourself, am I digging in my heels like Diotrephes? Is my heart becoming atrophied? …

Thank God Im Free | Chad Veach
Chad Veach, 2026-08-02

… it is not that you be bound or addicted to something. It's that you be free to worship him. Oh, I love this. Galatians chapter 6 verse 1. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm then and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. It is for freedom that Christ has set you free. God wants you to be free. It's the plan and the will of God for you not to be bound in that old relationship and in that old bottle and in that old thinking pattern and in that old unforgiveness. No, God wants to set you free. So the first thing the Bible says is for freedom, the Christ has set you free. And I just like that because God wants you to be free. Today, I don't know what your plans are this afternoon, but my 12-year-old son is playing in a baseball tournament in Cooperstown, New York at the Hall of Fame of Baseball. Clap for my guy, Winston, and the Westchester Legends. …

Confronting wrong calls for humility, not pride. Galatians 6.1 Confronting wrong calls for humility, not pride. You have a friend that is wrong. You have a mate that is wrong. You have a child that is wrong. you have a parent that is wrong if you want to confront because you care then you carry with you a great dose of humility if a brother be overtaken in a fault Paul says you who are spiritual you who are controlled by the Holy Spirit confront, restore such a one. Help him. Help her back. Bring healing. How? With a spirit of meekness. Humility. I'll tell you if there is one thing that characterizes Mr. and Mrs. Average Evangelical today, it is relationship number one you saw on the chart. I'm right, you're wrong. It's this rigidity that dooms us at crucial moments of relationships. Friend, you may be absolutely right But if you carry it in pride You become absolutely wrong Now there's a second lesson I'm learning. Condemning wrong is based on righteousness, not knowledge. …

Did Jesus Keep the Sabbath? Part 2
Skip Heitzig, 2026-06-28

… psalmist say, Psalm 23 to God? You restore my soul. How does God do that? Oftentimes, God does that through God's people, through God's people. I get restored. Galatians 6, verse 1, if anyone is overtaken in any fault, you who are spiritual restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering yourself, lest you also be tempted. So Jesus made the choice to attend public worship because that was a biblical priority. It's a biblical priority. It's Sabbath day. Going to show up at synagogue. We're going. You think Peter said, I don't want to go today. You're going. we need to reject what I'm going to call convenience fellowship. Convenience fellowship. I'll go to church if there's not a game on. I'll go to church if my friend doesn't invite me to lunch. I'll go to church if I don't have a golf game. That's convenience fellowship. You know, when I grew up, there was one question I never asked my parents on Sunday, and that is, are we going to church today? If you live in that house, guess what? It's the Lord's day. Y'all going to church. All four of you boys, get yourself in the car. …

… and listen to what Scripture teaches there. Galatians chapter 6 verse 1, Paul writes, Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks he is something, When he has nothing, he deceives himself. Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself without comparing himself to somebody else, for each one should carry his own load. Come back to Matthew chapter 18, and here's the picture. What you've got is Jesus spelling out a process. New Testament church practicing that, 1 Corinthians 5, and then Galatians chapter 6, a direct command. If a brother is caught in sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. The New Testament tells us this is a matter of obedience. Church discipline is a matter of obedience. We will obey, here's the key, with the love of Christ. And the whole context here, Galatians 6, 1 Corinthians 5, Matthew chapter 18, is love. …

… when you take this whole picture in light of the entire teaching of the New Testament, some would say, well, this is only when somebody directly sins against you. But the reality is Galatians chapter 6 verse 1 teaches us that when a brother is caught in sin, we should restore him gently. It's not specifically specified there, well, if it's against you. And so the pictures the New Testament gives us is if you've been directly sinned against, if your brother's caught in sin, this is what you do. You go and show him his fault just between the two of you. So here's the principle that we're going to see kind of unfold in these first two steps especially. Keep the circle as small as possible, as long as possible. Jesus says don't go and talk to somebody else about your brother's sin which let's be honest is the first thing that we are prone to do and that we do all the time and Jesus is saying scripture is teaching that that is sinful it is sinful. …

… Look in chapter 6 and verse 1. Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual restore such a one. Now, if you say, that's not my gift, That's not my calling. That's not what I'm inclined to do. That's not what I'm supposed to do. You know what you're saying about yourself? I'm not spiritual. I'm not spiritual. If you are a spiritual person, a person who loves God, a spirit-filled person, then you're going to have all the qualifications you need to restore such a one. Now, I've talked about the ministry of restoration. Let me talk about the manner of this restoration. If you say, all right, pastor, I'm going to do it. I have somebody right now in my heart and in my mind, some man, some woman, some boy, some girl. All right. Let me tell you how you're to do it. First of all, you're to do it very gently. Look, if you will, in chapter 6 and verse 1. …

What to Do With Your Burdens | Part 1
Adrian Rogers · Scripture reading

… Look, if you will, in chapter 6 and verse 1. Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For every man shall bear his own burden. Now there are three kinds of burdens I want to talk to you about today. There are burdens that we willingly take up. There are burdens that we faithfully endure. And then there are burdens that we wisely lay down. First of all, there are certain burdens that you're not to try to escape. As a matter of fact, there are burdens that you are to take up. And what are those burdens? Those are the burdens of another brother, another sister. …
