… every day we must seek one another spiritual and material welfare at the expense of our own Paul reminds us of that in Galatians chapter 6 and verse 10. He says, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, especially to those who are of the household of faith. I hear more and more from different ones that they come to Christ's covenant, that they sense that there's a spirit of love that makes them feel welcome here in our church. and many of you invite these visitors and first timers and folks that don't come on a regular basis to join in with the fellowship of the Bible studies, of the men's groups of the covenant groups, of the Sunday schools reaching out to others with the love of Christ we must so love our brethren that we are willing to lay down our lives for them. John again tells us by this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. …

Be Good To People | Joel Osteen
Joel Osteen, 2026-09-24

… The next week he had a monitor just like mine Galatians 6 10 says don't miss an opportunity to be good to people If I wouldn't have been sensitive not only would he not have been blessed, but when you're good to people, you're sowing a seed for God to be good to you. I would have missed out on a blessing. Well, Joel, I don't have extra money to buy a computer monitor. Maybe not, but can you buy a cup of coffee for a friend? Can you stay late and help that coworker finish a project? Can you clean the kitchen, give your spouse a night off? Can you take time to compliment someone, brighten their day? that doesn't cost anything. Don't miss opportunities to be good to people. You hear your co-worker talking about how they've got to take their car into the shop for repairs. Hey, can I give you a ride? You need me to swing by and pick you up in the morning? You're on the lookout. That young couple, they just had a baby. You hear them talking about how tired they are, how they're not getting any sleep. Don't say, oh yeah, I remember those days. That's a really tough time. No, be sensitive. …

… Now, let me give you a couple of scriptures. In Galatians chapter 6 and verse 10, as we have therefore opportunity, let us do good to all men, especially unto them of the household of faith. The video that you just saw of these single mothers, they're mother birds. And all we did, it's no big deal, all we did as a church is we stepped in and we said, We can't do everything. But these all three, and there are many more to follow, and we've already helped many more that you don't know about. But here's what I want you to hear. They're of the household of faith, and we are to take care of the mother birds, the single mothers, the children that need help. And so when you pay for that apartment for 12 months, you did it. So you did it. You did that for a mother bird. When you buy that car, you did it for the mother bird. And God says, a blessing. …

… this is Galatians so then as we have opportunity same word kairos as we have opportunity let us do good to everyone especially to those of the household of faith so one example would be purchase the opportunity means can you do some good here when you go home tonight on the way home is there something good you can do for anybody If your whole mindset is, I'm going to buy some opportunities before I go to bed tonight. I'm going to say a word to my wife or my son or daughter or phone call or an email that needs to be. I'm going to do something. I'm going to buy this night. The devil is not going to have this night. These evil days are not going to have this night. So that's the idea of redeeming the time. It goes hand in hand with look carefully how you walk. I mean, you know, people have written all kinds of books about the Protestant work ethic for the last, say, since the Reformation. …
