Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because on that day He rested from all the work of creation that He had accomplished.God blessed the seventh day, and made it holy, because he rested in it from all his work of creation which he had done. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it; because that in it he rested from all his work which God had created and made.

… and he rested on the seventh day from all the work that he had done. And God blessed the seventh day and he declared it holy. For on it, he rested from all his work of creation. Before we get into it, I just wanna highlight one thing that scripture seems to have a higher view of work than we have and a higher view of rest than we have. What God talks about in Genesis is he promotes a six-day work week. Did you see that? He worked, yeah, don't say amen. He worked for six days, six days of work. Interestingly, many studies have been done and they found that beyond a certain amount of hours a week, no matter how much more you work, You're not that productive. On it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea and all that's in them, and he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and he made it holy. So what we read in Genesis chapter 2 is the foundation for this commandment in Exodus chapter 20. To set aside one day out of seven to cease from work and to rest, which revolutionized history. Think about this with me. So much in our calendar revolves around what God reveals through nature, naturally. Like we have 24-hour days because of the earth's rotation on its axis. …

Because it's the number of fullness and completion. It goes back to Genesis 2, verse 3, and on the seventh day, what did God do? He rested, because everything was done. This book is the fullness of God's revelation. And when this history is done, that's the end of everything. With regard to this universe, that's the end. In chapter 22 again, verse 18, I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book. If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in the book. So when God says, I'm signing off, that's it. And if you come along and want to add something that you think is a revelation from God, you're in danger of receiving the plagues that are written in this book. And on the other hand, verse 19 says, if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away His part from the tree of life and from the holy city which are written in this book. …
