… Where are you? And he said, I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked, and I hid myself. He said, who told you? God said, who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat? The man said, the woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate. Then the Lord God said to the woman, what is this that you have done? The woman said, the serpent deceived me, and I ate. The Lord God said to the serpent, Because you have done this, Cursed are you above all livestock and above all beasts of the field. On your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life. I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel. …

wow look at that wow look at that real quick I gotta teach it but look at that God immediately is connecting his dysfunction to his disobedience Thank you. He doesn't even litigate all of the confusion. He's saying there's a one-stop shop for your confusion, and it's disobedience. and your disobedience has opened now a Pandora's box, and more specifically, not just your disobedience, but your disobedience to the word I spoke. then the man said it gets even more dysfunctional then the man said the woman who you gave to be with me now he's blaming the lord he's so dysfunctional he is now accusing god of being dysfunctional it was a bad idea god you giving me that woman was a terrible idea god you ought to be look at how crazy we get how insane we get when we disconnect from the word. And the man said to the woman, the man said, the woman whom you gave to me with me, she gave me of the tree and I ate. …

The Daze Of The Antichrist
Jack Hibbs, 2026-03-11

So where are you? So he said, I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked. And I hid myself. That is a huge statement, verse 10, everybody. There's a deep, deep psychological, spiritual, physical message to verse 10. and he said, who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree which I commanded you that you should not eat? Then the man said, the woman, here you go. Instead of him saying, yes, Lord, I did it. Please forgive me. I think God would have forgiven them and you and I right now would have been in paradise. But nope, you know, God, it's your fault. You gave me that faulty woman. the woman whom you gave me to be with me she gave me the tree gave me uh of the tree and I ate and the Lord God said to the woman what is this that you've done and the woman said that serpent deceived me and I ate so the Lord God said to the serpent I mean just down the line because you have done this you are cursed more than all cattle and more than every beast of the field on your belly you shall go, which is interesting, which meant previously on its belly, it did not go. …

Don't Hold Your Breath - Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Sarah Jakes Roberts, 2025-07-27

… Adam and Eve thought they lost their clothes. Genesis 3 and 10 says that I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked and I hid myself. They think the biggest problem here is that they lost their clothes. They don't even realize you was already naked. but because we always lose a little bit more than we thought we did it is God who then reveals to them that you did not just lose your clothes you lost access you lost a part of who I created you to be you lost I don't know if anyone else has ever realized that there are some moments where I lost more than I thought I did I didn't just lose my mother I lost covering I didn't just lose that relationship. I lost confidence. I didn't just, I didn't just lose what I thought I lost. I don't know if anyone's ever gone through a circumstance like this where you just thought you lost your time, but I didn't realize that I lost my hope. I thought I just lost a person. …

Shame On You
Jamal Bryant, 2025-05-25 · Scripture reading

… But the Lord God called to the man, where are you? He answered, I heard you in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked. so I hid. You may be seated. and they heard God walking through the garden and they hid and he asked them why you had I want to preach today using as a subject, shame on you. Shame on you. the diagnosis has come back and the results are in that the society that we live in has a severe case of dyslexia. because we tend and are prone to read things backwards. Make it make sense. How we shame victims and rationalize perpetrators. it becomes very difficult for survivors to come forward because we penalize appearance, categorize clothes, minimize power dynamics, and we do it all in earshot of our daughters. Our sons have even less of a chance because it's projected that they should know how to protect themselves. It doesn't matter how old they are. And otherwise, they were just a willing accomplice. …

… garden in the cool of the day. And they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to them, where are you? And he answered, I heard you in the garden and I was afraid because I'm naked. So I hid. And he said, who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from? And the man said, the woman you put here with me, she gave me some of the fruit from the tree and I ate it. The Blame Game - Part 1
Charles Stanley · Scripture reading

… Then the Lord God called to the man and said to him, Where are you? And he said, I heard the sound of thee in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked, and so I hid myself. And he said, Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat? And the man said, the woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me from the tree and I ate. And the Lord God said to the woman, what is this you have done? And the woman said, the serpent deceived me and I ate. And the Lord God said to the serpent and he didn't say anything. You know why? Because there wasn't anything to say. He knew exactly where he was and he knew exactly what was going on and what was happening. And so there wasn't any point in him making any excuse about what was going on. And so I want us to look at this passage and deal with something that all of us have to deal with. …
