Although Potiphar’s wife spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to go to bed with her or even be near her.As she spoke to Joseph day by day, he didn’t listen to her, to lie by her, or to be with her.And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.

Well, I believe that the Joseph from the book of Genesis is an excellent example of seeing this very thing. In Genesis chapter 39, verses 6 through 10, a little bit of backstory about Joseph. He has been betrayed by his brothers, sold as a slave, ends up in the house of Potiphar. everything Joseph touches basically turns into gold and Potiphar notices this, that the favor of God is upon him. And so Potiphar raises him up, gives him much responsibility, and that's where we pick up here in verse 6. Thus he left, that's Potiphar left, all that he had in Joseph's hand. And he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance. And it came to pass after these things that his master's wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, lie with me. I think you know what she was meaning. But he refused and said to his master's wife, look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand. There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you because you are his wife. …
Can you pass the test of temptation? And she's pursuing. You ever notice how temptation doesn't show up once a week? It's lurking every day. That's why, what did Jesus say? When you pray, you ought to ask God, Lord, lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from Potiphar's wife. and she's day after day trying to wear him down day after day saying come on joe come on come on joe joe please come on come on and he said no and in one day he's in the house and nobody else is around and he's you know doing his duties and she comes and she comes from behind she crazy now she mad crazy so she comes she's like boo Thank you. Joey. And Joe's like, oh God, the crazy lady. and she said come on joe and joe he said man this lady crazy and she got his jacket so he runs out of her jacket and you know what he's saying he's saying you can have my coat but you can't have my calling You can mess with my day, but you can't steal my dream. …
And the temptation was the greater, in that she did not only tempt him once, but frequently, day by day, verse 10. And at last became more violent with him. She caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me. His behaviour was very remarkable under these temptations. He absolutely refused any compliance with them: he made no reply that manifested as though the temptation had gained at all upon him; so much as to hesitate about it, or at all deliberate upon it. He complied in no degree, either to the gross act she proposed, or any thing tending towards it, or that should at all be gratifying to her wicked inclination. And he persisted resolute and unshaken under her continual solicitations, ver. 10. “And it came to pass as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.” He, to his utmost, avoided so much as being where she was. And the motives and principles, from which he acted, manifested by his reply to her solicitations, are remarkable.—He first sets before her, how injuriously he should act against his master, if he should comply with her proposal: “Behold, my master—hath committed all that he hath to my hand; there is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me, but thee, because thou are his wife.” But he then proceeded to inform her of that, which, above all things, deterred him from a compliance, viz. that it would be great wickedness, and sin against God.— “How shall I do this, and sin against God?” He would not do any such thing, as he would not injure his master; but that which influenced more than all on this occasion, was the fear of sinning against God. On this account he persisted in his resolution to the last. …
