Have You not placed a hedge on every side around him and his household and all that he owns? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.Haven’t you made a hedge around him, and around his house, and around all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.Hast not thou made a hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath, on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

… and his house and all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands and his possessions have increased in the land. But put forth your hand now and touch all that he has. He will surely curse you to your face. The Lord said to the Satan, behold, all that he has is in your power. Only do not put forth your hand on him. So Satan departed from the presence of the Lord. You remember what happened? Four different messengers. It happened on the day when his sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother's house that a messenger came. Verse 16, while he was still speaking, another also came. 17, while he was still speaking, another also came. 18, while he was still speaking, another also came and said, Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking in their oldest brother's house, and a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people, and they died. …
… Thank you. he said look you've you've made a hedge about him and his household and all that he has on every side you've protected him you've blessed the work of his hands and his possessions have increased and let him stretch out your hand and touch all that he has and he will surely curse you to your face so the lord said to satan behold all that he has is in your power only do not lay a hand on his person. Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord. What is the accusation? The accusation is this, God, the only reason Job serves you is because you bought him off. he serves you because he's a mercenary you give him so much you bless him so much take that stuff away he won't love you and so here here's the challenge can God be loved and worshiped for who he is alone or must it always include for what he does and what he gives what if God strips away the favor and the blessing and he still is who he is. Can God be worshiped then? So in this, this is a challenge. This is like the divine epic story of all stories. The gauntlet gets thrown down. The challenge is on. Of course, Job doesn't know this. It'd be helpful if Job had the book of Job, but he doesn't have it. So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord. Now there was a day when his sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother's house. …
… does Job fear God for nothing? Have you not made a hedge about him and his house and all that he has on every side? Will you do that? As the story unfolds from this ancient document, we are immediately impressed with a man who indeed was just a man, but what a man. He loved you. He feared you, Father, and he disciplined his life in such a way that he had nothing to do with evil and the compromises of those of his day. …
… different levels we're dealing with spiritual warfare i'll just point to job you guys can go read it later on but job 1 verses 8 to 12 god asks satan if he's considered his servant job and in this satan's basically like oh yeah i've considered him like meaning yeah i would like to go do stuff to him. I'd like to mess with him a little bit, but you've placed a hedge of protection around him and I can't get to him. So God begins to remove at different levels some amount of protection that he placed around Job so that Satan's allowed to do stuff to him. And so we read the whole book and then we see in the end, God blesses Job with twice as much as he ever had before, including children. Did you know that? Including children. Because the children that he lost, The number of children he had, I think it was seven. I don't remember exactly. But he received the same number of children again. …
… And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power. Only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord. Now Satan, we're going to see, is going to cause incredible trouble for this man, Job. And finally, after all of this trouble, Job says, Though he slay me, though he slay me, yet will I trust him. Now, the devil said, God, he loves you because. He loves you because. Because you've been good to him. Because you've given him riches. Because you've given to him children. Because you put a hedge around him. That's the kind of love he has for you, because love. And by the way, that's the weakest kind of love, isn't it? You say to your wife, I love you because you're beautiful. You say to your husband, I love you because you provide for me. Well, what if he loses his job or she loses her beauty? You see, that kind of love can be threatened. …
AND I'LL TELL YOU WHAT HE, HE'LL DO FOR YOU, GOD. HE WILL CURSE YOU TO YOUR FACE. LOOK IN VERSE 10, HAST THOU NOT MADE A HEDGE ABOUT HIM AND ABOUT HIS HOUSE AND ALL THAT HE HATH ON EVERY SIDE? THOU HAS BLESSED THE WORK OF HIS HANDS, AND HIS SUBSTANCE INCREASED IN THE LAND. PUT FORTH THINE HAND NOW, AND TOUCH ALL THAT HE HATH, AND HE WILL CURSE THEE TO THY FACE." THAT IS, GOD, HE ONLY LOVES YOU BECAUSE OF BECAUSE LOVE. YOU KNOW WHAT BECAUSE LOVE IS? THAT'S THE WEAKEST KIND OF LOVE. I LOVE YOU BECAUSE. AND SOME OF US DON'T HAVE GOOD, STRONG FAMILIES BECAUSE THE ONLY KIND OF LOVE THAT WE HAVE FOR OUR WIVES, OUR HUSBANDS IS BECAUSE LOVE. I, I LOVE YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL. I LOVE YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE RICH. I LOVE YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE SMART. I LOVE YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE STRONG. YOU SEE, ALL OF THESE THINGS, UH, IF YOU LOVE WITH A BECAUSE CLAUS, THEN WHEN THE BECAUSE IS TAKEN AWAY, UH, THE, UH, THEN THE LOVE GOES. I HEARD ABOUT A MAN AND HIS WIFE WERE MOVING INTO A BEAUTIFUL SCRUMPTIOUS NEW HOME AND SHE WAS THE WEALTHY ONE. SHE HAD INHERITED THE MONEY AND SHE SAID, HAROLD, I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT IF IT WEREN'T FOR MY MONEY, WE WOULDN'T BE IN THIS APARTMENT. AND, UH, THEN THEY LOOKED OUT THERE AND THERE WAS THAT BEAUTIFUL CAR IN THE DRIVEWAY AND SHE SAID, UH, HAROLD, I WANT YOU TO KNOW, IF IT WEREN'T FOR MY MONEY, THAT CAR WOULDN'T …
