… the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning if you check Job chapter 1 verses 2 and 3 you will read one half these figures he originally had 7,000 sheep and he winds up in verse 12 tells us with 14,000 so his flocks grow as he feeds them and breeds them so their numbers increase. And there's plenty to eat and there is plenty of land to graze in and the sheep grow in number to 14,000. And remember the caravans that Job was a part of in his business? His business doubles. He now doesn't have 3,000 camels but 6,000 camels. What a sight that must have been. You ever looked at a camel? You looked at one lately? They are weird, weird, weird, weird, weird. They just look funny. We were in central Florida this week, and we were at a particular place where there happened to have been a mama and a baby camel. They don't look any better as babies as they do as mamas. …

Job 1-2
Skip Heitzig, 2026-08-05

… different situation here seven sons three daughters were born to him also his possessions were 7 000 sheep 3 000 camels 500 yoke of oxen 500 female donkeys and a very large household so he had servants like abraham did so that this man was the greatest of all the people in the east. The word greatest, and some of you who know Hebrew, like Matt, who remember this word, the word is gadol, gadol. When it says he's the greatest, gadol, which means large. He was the largest man in the east. And that doesn't mean he was overweight. It just means he was significant and very, very well-to-do. So he was the greatest of all the people. Think of an Arabian sheikh, somebody who had great power, was over lots of people, and was well-known. So he's the greatest or the heaviest. He's a heavyweight back in those days of the people of the East. Now, his sons would go and feast in their houses, each on his appointed day, and would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. …

Setting the Stage for Disaster │ Msg 1/22

… from evil. Seven sons and three daughters were born to him. His possessions also were 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen, 500 female donkeys, and very many servants. And that man was the greatest of all the men of the east. His sons used to go and hold a feast in the house of each one on his day. That probably refers to his birthday. On his day. And they would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. It came about when the days of feasting had completed their cycle that Job would send and consecrate them rising up early in the morning and offering burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, perhaps my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts. Thus Job did continually. Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord. and Satan also came among them. The Lord said to Satan, From where do you come? …

Can God Be Trusted in Your Troubles? | Part 1
Adrian Rogers · Scripture reading

… And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters. His substance also was 7,000 sheep and 3,000 camels and 500 yoke of oxen, 500 she-asses and a very great household. So that this man, now here's a big statement. This man was the greatest of all the men of the East. Now he was the big shot. Spiritually, he was a great man. Financially, he was a great man. domestically. He was a great man. But the devil is suspicious of the motives of Job. The devil says, well, now wait a minute. The only reason that Job serves God is God has been so good to him. God has bribed him and God has bought him off. Skip on down to verse 6 and you'll see this. Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord. And watch this. And Satan came also among them. Did you know that Satan is called in the Bible the accuser of the brethren? And so the angelic creatures are coming to present themselves. And along comes Satan. And the Lord said unto Satan, and by the way, the word Satan means adversary. Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord and said, from going to and fro in the earth and from walking up and down in it. And by the way, he's still doing that today, isn't he? And the Lord said unto Satan, Has thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, and one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? …
