… At this time also my heart trembles and leaps from its place. hear attentively the thunder of his voice, the rumbling that comes from his mouth. Now, I think it's beginning to thunder. Clouds have gathered, starting to sprinkle a little bit. There's the sound of thunder, and he says so poetically, the rumbling that comes from his mouth. Now, that's a poetic description that God is using the thunder to speak. But do you remember in John chapter 12, when Jesus prayed and he said, Father, glorify your name. And God spoke and said, I have both glorified it and will glorify it. And people around who heard it said, it thundered. It was the voice of God, but it sounded to them like thundering. I just want to smile for him. He's not. He's not. It's not about us. It's not about us. It's about himself in his magnificence. Nahum writes of it. He has his way in the whirlwind and the storms and the clouds or the dust of his feet. He is transcendent. He is magnificent. He is mighty. He is gigantic. He is everything about us, above us, around us, and within us. Without him, there is no righteousness. There is no holiness. There is no ability to change. …
