Tranquil Words for Troubled Hearts │ Msg 13/14
Chuck Swindoll, 2026-07-07 · Scripture reading

… to get you ready. Now, he said to his men, now you know where I'm going. Thomas said, no, we don't. That's verse five. We don't know the way. We don't know where you're going and how can we know the way? Thomas didn't know. He was honest Thomas. He wasn't doubting. He was honest. He said, we don't know where you're going. He honestly didn't know. So the Lord said to him that historic statement, I'm the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father but through me. Christianity has often been criticized because it is bigoted and narrow and rigid. No, it's just as Jesus said it. If a human being on earth wants to go to the Father in heaven, he's got to go one way through Jesus Christ. Without him, there is no going. Without the life, there is no living. Without the truth, there's no knowing. It must be through Jesus Christ. If you're planning on heaven as your eternal abode, there's one way to get there, and that's through the cross, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Well, this created another question in Philip's mind. …

05/03/26 The Next...: The Next Goodbye
Mike Schmitz, 2026-05-02 · Scripture reading

… If you know me, you will also know my Father. From now on, you do know him and have seen him. Philip said to him, Master, show us the Father and that will be enough for us. Jesus said to him, And then I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do and will do greater ones than these because I am going to the Father. The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. Wait till you have a seat. As I mentioned at the beginning of Mass, this is the season of goodbyes. And it's so strange. I don't know if you think about it much, but like it seems, I don't know if it seems like this to you, but it seems like it was only the season of hellos not too long ago. That some of the people maybe you're sitting next to are people that not too long ago you had no idea who they were. And now here you are sitting next to these people. …

When Jesus Speaks to Troubled Hearts - Dan Watson
Dan Watson, 2025-12-18 · Scripture reading

… No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him. I want to ask you a question. Have you ever had those moments or those times where someone asks you, how are you doing? How are you? And our natural response is what? I'm fine. I'm good. I'm good. But the truth is this. You're not good. you know that you're not good on the inside, that you're functioning and you're performing, but you're not fine. You're showing up, but something inside of you feels unsettled. You can function, you can turn up to work, you can lead, you can get the kids ready for school, you can put the smile on your face, but somehow you still feel troubled. And what's interesting in John chapter 14 is that Jesus speaks to something that these guys haven't even articulated themselves. My heart is troubled, but Jesus knows. And that's why at the start of John 14, it doesn't start with a miracle or a lesson. …

Can You See Him?
John K. Jenkins Sr., 2025-09-08 · Scripture reading

In verse six, Jesus says something else that's very important. He says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. That's an important theological stand because some of y'all think that there are many roads to heaven. But according to Jesus, there's not many roads to heaven. There's one way to heaven and Jesus is his name. Jesus is either God and he's everything he said he was and everything he said is true or he's a liar and a fraud. But I am persuaded and I know he's not a fraud. He's not a liar. He tells the truth. And he said the only way you can get to the father is through Jesus. Verse number nine says this. Jesus said to him have I been with you so long and yet you have not known me Philip he who has seen me has seen the father so how can you say show us the father in their discussion Philip asked Jesus show us the father Jesus says I when you see me you see the father in other words if we want to know what what God looks like Jesus says look at me that's what Jesus said check me out Jesus says and and I'm showing you the father if you want to know what the father looks like. Look at verse 12. He says in verse 12, most assuredly I say to you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, the works that I do, he will do also and greater …

The Coming of Christ for His Church
Charles Stanley · Scripture reading

… No man cometh unto the Father but by me. If you had known me, you should have known my Father also. And from henceforth ye know him and have seen him. Philip said to him, Lord, show us the Father, and we'll be satisfied. It sufficeth us. Jesus said unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father. And how sayest thou then, show us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself, but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me, or else believe me for the very works sake. Jesus said in this 14th chapter that one day, the time being unknown to man, that he would return for his body, the bride, his church, of which you and I are a part. …
