The Intolerant Christ – Part 1
Robert Jeffress, 2026-09-03

… Jesus' teaching offensive. It was because he claimed to be the Son of God that he was put to death. Throughout the Bible, he made that claim. In John 10, 30, I and the Father are one. John 14, verse 9, he who has seen me has seen the Father. Jesus claimed to be God. Now, truthfully, anybody could claim to be God, though isn't it interesting that none of the founders of any of the major religions ever claimed to be God? Buddha never claimed to be God. Confucius never claimed to be God. The prophet Muhammad never claimed to be God. Jesus claimed to be God. And he not only made that claim, but he proved the claim was true by what he did. Jesus claimed that he could heal the sick, and he did. He claimed that he could turn the water into wine, and he did. He claimed that he could rise again from the dead. And guess what? He did. Jesus claimed to be God. That's what made him unique. Not only that, but secondly, Jesus claimed that belief in him led to eternal life. …

The Way Jesus Sees You
Pastor Nate Heitzig, 2026-07-19

… and that'll be enough for us jesus again teaches him patiently don't you know me philip jesus says even after i've been among you for such a long time anyone who has seen me has seen the father how can you say, show us the Father? Jesus never gave up on Philip. He kept teaching him, kept guiding him. I bring this up to let you know that maybe you're that logical person. I think more of us are those logical people than we'd care to admit. Because faith is hard. It's scary taking a step in faith. But even logical people can grow in faith. So don't use your logic as an excuse for why you never do anything for God. Well, I'm just a logical person. Okay. God will keep growing you. God will keep stretching you. God will keep leading you. And guess what? He's patient. He'll take his time. He doesn't expect you to wake up tomorrow and be like, I'm going to India. Now, if he calls you to go to India, do it because he's God. He knows what he's doing, but he'll be patient with you. He'll lead you. He'll guide you. Even if you're logical, you can grow in faith. See, Jesus sees not only where Philip is, he sees where Philip is headed. …

Tranquil Words for Troubled Hearts │ Msg 13/14
Chuck Swindoll, 2026-07-07 · Scripture reading

… Ah. He who has seen me has seen the Father. How do you say, show us the Father? You're looking at God in the flesh. Now the principle is in verse 10. Do you not believe that I am in the Father? And do you not believe the Father is in me? Why, the words that I say to you, I don't speak on my own initiative, but the Father abiding in me does his works. Ah, there it is. Principle number three. The sovereign hand of God is at work in your life. Do you have a troubled heart? Mark at least underline in verse 10, The Father abiding in me does his works. What a tremendous thought. Jesus, God in the flesh, said, when I speak, it's the Father who's speaking through me. When I do a deed, the Father is doing a deed through me. So the Lord says to us, the same thing, the Father abiding in you is doing his works. I have a good friend, I call every once in a while and ask him how he's doing. …

05/03/26 The Next...: The Next Goodbye
Mike Schmitz, 2026-05-02 · Scripture reading

… From now on, you do know him and have seen him. Philip said to him, Master, show us the Father and that will be enough for us. Jesus said to him, And then I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do and will do greater ones than these because I am going to the Father. The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. Wait till you have a seat. As I mentioned at the beginning of Mass, this is the season of goodbyes. And it's so strange. I don't know if you think about it much, but like it seems, I don't know if it seems like this to you, but it seems like it was only the season of hellos not too long ago. That some of the people maybe you're sitting next to are people that not too long ago you had no idea who they were. And now here you are sitting next to these people. Maybe you actually just met them today, but that's fine. …

16 Ounces To The Pound - Jonathan Pickens
Jonathan Pickens, 2025-12-18

… have I been among you all this time and you don't know me, Philip? The one who has seen me has seen the father. How can you say, show us the father? Don't you believe that I am in the father and the father is in me? The words I speak to you, I do not speak on my own. The father who lives in me does his works. Believe me that I am in the father and the father is in me. Otherwise believe because of the works themselves. This line is one of the lines that struck me most in studying this text. When he says to Philip, who said something pretty spiritually elite, right? Like this is Moses' prayer on the second time. This is what he says, God, show me the Father. Wouldn't that be enough? You'd expect Jesus to be like, ah, at last, a good disciple. But he doesn't do that. He actually gives him one of the most severe rebukes. He says, after all this time, you still don't know me. …

Can You See Him?
John K. Jenkins Sr., 2025-09-08 · Scripture reading

… Verse number nine says this. Jesus said to him have I been with you so long and yet you have not known me Philip he who has seen me has seen the father so how can you say show us the father in their discussion Philip asked Jesus show us the father Jesus says I when you see me you see the father in other words if we want to know what what God looks like Jesus says look at me that's what Jesus said check me out Jesus says and and I'm showing you the father if you want to know what the father looks like. Look at verse 12. He says in verse 12, most assuredly I say to you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, the works that I do, he will do also and greater works than these he will do because I go to my father. I love that verse because Jesus is saying, I'm going away, but when I leave, I'm going to empower you to do greater works than I did. …

The Coming of Christ for His Church
Charles Stanley · Scripture reading

… And from henceforth ye know him and have seen him. Philip said to him, Lord, show us the Father, and we'll be satisfied. It sufficeth us. Jesus said unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father. And how sayest thou then, show us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself, but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me, or else believe me for the very works sake. Jesus said in this 14th chapter that one day, the time being unknown to man, that he would return for his body, the bride, his church, of which you and I are a part. The first message in this series, we talked about what the church is. …
