… Somebody say pruned. John 15 verse 1 and 3 says, I am the real vine and my father is the former. He cuts off every branch of me that doesn't bear grapes and every branch that is great bearing. He prunes back. so it will bear even more you already pruned back you are already pruned back by the message i have spoken literally here jesus is teaching his disciples that there are two times that god will cut he will cut number one to correct fruitlessness or he'll cut number two to create fruitfulness. why am I hurting so bad it might be because God's been checking your limbs for some fruit and sometimes God will cut us off and sometimes God will cut us back when we get cut off it's because it's fruitlessness but when we get cut back it's because he wants some more fruitfulness You know the Bible doesn't tell us why God does a lot that God does But this week get another biopsy right here in John chapter 15 Because literally here we understand why we've been cut sometimes And sometimes we're not cut because we've done anything wrong Sometimes God cuts us back so we're pruned Because if you want more fruit You've got to go through some cutting If you want things to grow healthier sometimes they have to be cut back. …
… He says the church is the branches now look at look at this if you will Chapter 15 verse 1 Jesus says I am the true vine And my father is the vineyard keeper or the husbandman Every branch you meet that does not bear fruit he takes away and every branch that bears fruit He prunes it that it may bring forth more fruit. So he talks about that verse 5 look Jesus said I am the vine Ye, that is believers, are the branches. He who abides in me and I in him the same brings forth much fruit. Apart from me, ye can do nothing. Now watch this. When you and I received the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, the Bible says the Holy Spirit did what? He baptized us or in the form here of vine and branch. He grafted us into the vine so that you and I have become a part of Jesus Christ. So you see, each time he's speaking of Christ in us and us in Christ, he says we are a part of the body of Christ. …
… where we have the seventh of this series, the I am, in which Jesus says, I am the true vine. So let us look for a moment at the text. Jesus says in verse 1, I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine dresser. And every branch in me that does not bear fruit, He takes away, and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. And as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He He who abides in me and I in him bears much fruit, for without me you can do nothing. And then he goes on from there. But notice in verse 5, he says, I am the vine, you are the branches. And this is slightly different from what he says in the first verse, where there he calls himself not merely the vine, but he said, I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine dresser. …
