The Same, But Different - Sarah Jakes Roberts
Sarah Jakes Roberts, 2026-08-09 · Scripture reading

… for I have not yet ascended to my father. But go to my brethren and say to them, I am ascending to my father and your father and to my God and your God. Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord and that he had spoken these things to her. She went and told them exactly what he said. Then the same day at evening, beginning the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where their disciples were assembled for the fear of the Jews, the disciples are hiding. They're afraid that what happened to Jesus is going to happen to them. Jesus came and stood in the mist and said to them, Peace be with you. They're in a shut room, afraid of what's going to happen. And Jesus shows up. And when he said this, he showed them his hands and his sides. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. So Jesus said to them again, peace to you. …

… to my God and your God. And Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, I have seen the Lord and that he had said these things to her. That's the proclamation of Easter. I have seen the Lord. I have heard him call my name and I've seen him. I've had a revelation. I've had my eyes open. The dots have all connected now. I'd heard about him, but now I've seen him. I've heard the stories about him, but now I've seen him and I believe in him. That's what Easter is all about. It's what Passion City Church is all about. When you came into the gathering at Cumberland today or came into the gathering here at 515, you saw light bulbs on the wall. And a lot of you around Passion City Church, you know what that's all about. Some of you coming today as a guest or with a friend and you're like, that's kind of weird. There are light bulbs everywhere on the wall. As you come in the front door here, out on the oval, that big Jesus's life wall, a Jesus's life out as you're coming into Cumberland today. What is that all about? Every one of those light bulbs represents somebody who has that story. I have seen the Lord, not physically seen him, but my spiritual eyes have been open and I realize now who he is. Maybe they had heard about him. Maybe they had an aunt who went to church and talked about him. Maybe their co-worker knew about Jesus and they heard about …

Steven Furtick, 2026-04-06 · Scripture reading

… do anything right you can't guard a tomb just let me deal with it just show me where the mess is i'll clean it up but jesus said to her mary she turned and said to him in aramaic rabboni which means teacher. Jesus said to her, Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father, but go to my brothers. Wouldn't that be something? You're one of the ones who just denied Jesus while he was on the cross, and he calls you his brother. What a wonderful Savior. What a merciful God. What a and compassionate creator and redeemer. What a faithful friend. Don't cling to me, but go tell my brothers, I am ascending to my father and your father, to my God and your God. Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, listen to this, I have seen the Lord. I feel like she said it with a little bit of a, and you didn't kind of attitude behind it. Somebody say, I have seen the Lord. She told them that I have seen the Lord and that he had said these things to her. Go back to verse 1 for just a moment. I'll give you my title. Now on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early while it was still dark and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. …

God's Via Positiva #9 | Say Amen to Life
Scott Black Johnston, 2025-04-21 · Scripture reading

… Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you've laid him and I will take him away. Jesus said to her, Mary. She turned and said to him, Rabboni, which in Hebrew means teacher. Jesus said to her, do not hold on to me because I've not yet ascended to the father, but go to my brothers and say to them, I'm ascending to my father and to your father, to my God and to your God. Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, I've seen the Lord. And she told them that he had said these things to her. This is the word of God. For you, the people of God, thanks be to God. Mary mistook Jesus for a gardener. I suppose that makes sense. After all, she'd been crying. Mary came to the garden early that morning, clutching a fistful of daffodils. She came to visit the tomb of her dear friend, a big-hearted drifter who spent his days throwing an encouraging arm around downtrodden souls, breaking bread with hungry folk, telling people stories about love. …
