… shouldn't be like that john 3 5 jesus said unless one is born of water in the spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of god that which is born of the flesh is flesh that which is born of the spirit is spirit. 1 Corinthians 15 50. Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Now the new birth results in new behavior. We see in 2 Corinthians 5 17. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. Isn't that gorgeous? Because that old life that I used to live that I thought was really living before Jesus is gone. That's a life of death and sin, but the life that I now live, I live by faith in the Son of God, and I have a completely new life. I have a completely new direction. I have a completely new outlook, and everything is new. Now, the next thing is he says that we don't sin. Now, just so you think correctly about this, it's that we don't make plans or we don't practice sin any longer. …

A Conversation About Heaven
Guest speaker, 2026-03-22

… clarifies in verse five, most assuredly I say to you, unless one is born of water and the spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, that which is born of the spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, you must be born again. The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but you cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. so is everyone who is born of the Spirit. He said you must be born again. He did not say you must be baptized, you must raise your hand, you must pray the prayer, you must walk forward. He didn't say any of those things. Those are things that you do as part of the process, but oftentimes when I ask people if they know they're born again, those are the answers that I get. I've heard it said just like this. I prayed the prayer. you prayed the prayer like it was a put off are you going to go to heaven when you die? …

I See Angels, Part I - Touré Roberts
Touré Roberts, 2026-02-01 · Scripture reading

In other words, I'm in two dimensions. Father, we thank you so much for your word. It is a lamp unto our feet. It is a light unto our path. Hallelujah. In the beginning was the word, and the word was you, and the word was with you, and all things that will be made will be made, therefore, by your word. And even as your word became flesh and dwelt among us, I thank you, God, that this word will become flesh and move throughout the hearts and the minds of your sons and daughters present and watching. And God, in alignment and agreement with that, may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight. I thank you that you've given me the spirit of wisdom and revelation and insight and knowledge and prophecy and full access to heaven's resources, is full access to the throne room, God, that I might not simply be standing in front of your people, but that I might be like Elijah who said, Jehovah before whom I stand. So may I stand in two dimensions and release your word that will edify, build up, enlighten, activate, heal, and do all the wonderful things that takes place when your word is released. We claim victory today. …

Why You Do Not Believe
Marshall Segal, 2026-01-31

… We saw this in John chapter three, right? That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, you must be born again. The wind blows where it wishes and you hear it sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit. You believe if you believe because you were born again. And you had as much control over your second birth as you did over your first. God chose you and he gave you new birth. From beginning to end, you are a child of sovereign grace. but Jesus says to the angry mob in front of him, my father hasn't given you to me. And so you are not among my sheep. And that's why you don't believe. you hate me because the father you claim to know and worship hasn't chosen you. He hasn't given you sheep ears yet to hear my voice. …

The Mission of the Spirit
Charles Stanley

Then he makes this statement. He says, that which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the spirit is spirit. That is what happens. The spirit of God brings regeneration. That is, the spirit of God gives new life to that person. Now they have a new spirit. They have the life of God living inside of them. And that's when Jesus said, I'm abiding in you and you and me. What happens when your person receives Jesus Christ as their Savior? What does the Holy Spirit do? He absolutely regenerates. That is, he gives new life so that every single believer is dwelt by the life of God. And what happens is the Holy Spirit comes in to indwell us. And he makes it very clear in many scriptures that every single believer is indwelt by the and sealed by the Spirit of God until the moment God takes them home. The work of the Holy Spirit in salvation. So, you take the Holy Spirit out of salvation, you can't get saved. …

Rebirth (John 3:1–13) — A Sermon by R.C. Sproul
R.C. Sproul · Scripture reading

… the kingdom of God. Then he says to Nicodemus, that which is born of the flesh is flesh, that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Now I don't know how many people I've met in my life who believe that they were born Christians. Nobody in this room was born a Christian. The flesh does not produce redemption. This was a common error that Jewish people made. We're the descendants of Abraham. They thought that just because they were Jews and biologically their heritage was in Abraham that therefore they were going to enter into heaven and that they were numbered among the people of God. And the New Testament teachers as well as the Old Testament prophets had to teach the people that error. That is not the case. You may have been born in a Christian home. You may have been raised in a Christian home or reared in a Christian home, and you may have been instructed and gone to a Christian school, gone to a Christian college. …

… the water and the Spirit, he can't see the kingdom of God, let alone enter the kingdom of God. And you remember what Jesus said to Nicodemus? That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit. And the flesh cannot produce spiritual reality. If we would just get that principle into our head, understand that in our natural condition, we cannot do the things of God. We have no strength of spiritual things, no inclination towards the things of heaven until God first by His Holy Spirit changes the disposition of our hearts and raises us from that state of pure flesh, which the Bible says is spiritual death. This was what engaged Luther in his ancient debate with Desiderius Erasmus of Rotterdam when Erasmus had written his diatribe against Luther, and against Luther's doctrine of predestination, frankly, because Erasmus held on to the idea that even though we're fallen, there remains this little island of righteousness in the soul of fallen humanity by which we can, in, pressing the right buttons, incline ourselves to come to the kingdom or not to come to the kingdom. …
