Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment. Indeed, he has crossed over from death to life.“Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and doesn’t come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgment, but hath passed out of death into life.

… sin regardless of what they believe. No, Jesus repeatedly said, personal faith is a requirement for an eternal heaven. For example, in John 5, 24, truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and does not come into judgment, but is passed out of death into life. Or John 6, 40, for this is the will of my father that everyone who beholds the son and believes in him may have eternal life and I myself will raise him up on the last day. John 11, 25 and 26, Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me shall live even if he dies. And everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this? Jesus asked. Over and over again, Jesus says it is belief in him that is the link to eternal life. Now here's the question. What does it mean to believe in Jesus? …
… of his glory with exceeding joy faultless without spot or wrinkle this is why there won't be any need for you to be judged for your sins. In John chapter 5, verse 24, Jesus said, truly, truly, I say to you, the one who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and I love this, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. What a blessing that is to know. Some Christians think that when they get to heaven, Jesus is going to, you know, hunt them down because he wants to finally talk to them about that one thing. I saw that. You didn't get away with it, buddy. You know, well, and they're nervous about eternity. They're nervous about heaven because they don't understand the doctrine of justification, that they've been declared righteous in God's sight. Past, present, and future sins have all been paid for there on the cross. Jesus isn't going to bring up any of your sins. …
… that you really want. It's not going to be enough. It's not where you were created for. Check, check this out. John chapter five, the words of Jesus. Very truly, I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged, but is, is crossed over from death to life. That's what we talk about here a lot. Putting your faith in Jesus? Is it going from bad to good? It's crossing over from death to life. It's like when I was in my pastor's office as a 10 year old and he explained the gospel to me and it's a cliff on one side with me and my stick figure body and a cliff over here with, with God, with Jesus. And it's my sin that makes me fall short and it's never able on my own efforts to cross over. It's only by the cross that we get to God. Amen. that's what he's saying, cross over from death to life. …
… He is the one who will make everyone alive, and He is the one who will judge everyone. Since that's the case, look at verse 24, "'Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.'" So this is the sum of all of it. This is an invitation. This is a declaration of fact. Since it is the Son of God who has the power to raise the dead and will do that, who has the authority to judge everyone and will do that, then truly, truly you must hear His Word and believe in Him and the God who sent Him to have eternal life and to escape from death into life and not come to judgment. This is the simple reality of gospel truth. Everybody's headed for eternal judgment. One is headed for a resurrection unto damnation, a resurrection unto condemnation, a resurrection unto judgment. …
… I'm confirmed by the Word. John chapter 5, verse 24, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my Word and believeth on him that sent me hath everlasting life and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life. So I want to say to you two guys, preach the word. Preach the word. Paul said, the gospel we preached is indeed the word of God, not the word of man. And the same written word, that written word presents the living word. The living word honors the written word. AND I PRAY GOD, AS LONG AS THIS BUILDING STANDS, AS LONG AS THIS CHURCH ENDURES, THAT FROM THIS PLACE WILL SOUND THE WORD OF GOD. AND I PRAY GOD, AS LONG AS THERE'S BREATH IN YOUR NOSTRILS, WHETHER IT'S A YOUTH MINISTRY OR WHETHER YOU'RE A PASTOR OR WHATEVER YOU DO, THAT YOU PREACH THE WORD. GOD SAYS, THERE'S NOT MY WORD LIKE A HAMMER THAT BREAKS THE ROCK IN PIECES. You take the hardest rock and just keep tapping.
… Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. And most assuredly I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. And most assuredly I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. Let me stop at that point, because given that this is Communion Sunday, I'm going to be hard-pressed to cover even this number of verses in our meditation today. But what we have heard, I pray that you have ears to hear. Let us pray. Father, now as we turn our attention to this text that is indeed astounding in its content, we pray that You would give us real understanding of it, that we may be moved to the proper response to Christ and to the Father that it demands. For we ask these things in the name of Jesus. Amen. …
