… I do not receive the glory from people, receive glory from people, but I know that you do not have the love of God within you. That's just appalling. You don't love God. And that's all Moses is about. This is the first and great commandment in Moses. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and mind and strength. Deuteronomy 6, 5. You don't love him. You don't have a clue what Moses is about. The God you claim to see in Moses is not God. Whoever you love, it's not him. Fourth description, verse 43, I have come in my Father's name and you do not receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him. How can you believe when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God? That's a rhetorical question. You know what we do with rhetorical questions, right? Rhetorical questions don't have an answer stated because the answer is so easy. …

Proclaim His Glory

… I do not accept praise from men, but I know you, I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts. Again, those words of Jesus to his opponents are from John chapter 5. The fact that you are listening to this program tells me that you are not an opponent of Jesus. However, we Christians can fall into a similar trap, talking about our lives, our Christian walk, and not turning, there's the word again, not turning the focus toward Jesus. I'm not suggesting that we shouldn't talk about our own lives. Every merchant knows that a satisfied customer can be most convincing. St. Paul, for example, often wrote about his own experiences. We can do that too, for the incarnation of Jesus Christ is about God changing human stories. And so your story is worth telling. I'm simply saying, don't stop with your story, with your Christian experience. Sooner or later, turn the focus onto the goodness of God in Jesus Christ. It's the word of Christ, not your experience. …

… Luke chapter 5 and verse 42, But I know you that you have not the love of God in you. I'm telling you, you cannot fool God. He looks beyond the surface of religiosity. He looks beyond what we see and people see on the outside. And he knows the hearts of men. He knows whether you have the love of God in you right here, right now. every one of us, he knows what's our, what we're thinking about, what our questions are, where we are, what we're going through, where we live. He knows when he sees us, if the love of God is in us. And when you understand that in John eight and verse 14, he said, my reward is true for I know where I came from and I know where I go. And I want you to know that he, the two things you should never, ever not know is where you came from and where you're going. Don't ever forget the pit from whence he dug you out of. Don't ever forget the condition you were in. Don't ever get to the place that you start feeling like that you deserve all the blessings of God in your life. You don't other than the blood of Jesus Christ is worthy of it. And never forget where you came from and never forget where you're going in the middle of your present trial. You're going to the other side. …

… This morning we're in the fifth chapter of that gospel, beginning at verse 31, reading through verse 47. John chapter 5, verses 31 through 47. If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. There is another who bears witness of me, and I know that the witness which he witnesses of me is true. You have sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth. But I do not receive testimony from man, but I say these things that you may be saved. He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing for a time to rejoice in His light. But I have a greater witness than John's, for the works which the Father has given me to finish, the very works that I do bear witness of Me that the Father has sent Me. And the Father Himself who sent Me has testified of Me. And you have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form. But you do not have His Word abiding in you, because whom He sent, him you do not believe. …
