… It was in the time of the feast. The feast of the Jews, the feast of tabernacles was at hand, we're told. Now there were three major Jewish feasts that occurred annually. in all three male Jews within a 20-mile radius of Jerusalem were obligated to attend. First was Passover, second was Pentecost, third was Tabernacles or the Feast of Booths. Each feast was a historical reminder of something that their forefathers had experienced and endured and they were never to forget the events when they originally occurred. And so God established these feasts or these festivals. Now this particular feast was tabernacles and it was a reminder of the days that the people of the Jews lived in little huts, shanties, lived in the caves and the dens of the earth while they were moving across the wilderness to the land of Canaan. But Jesus has a leadership team that's trying to kill him, a crowd that's consuming and taking from him, and disciples who don't get him. Even his own brothers don't believe in him. …

R.C. Sproul · Scripture reading

… After these things Jesus walked in Galilee, for He did not want to walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill Him. Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand. And His brothers therefore said to Him, Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see the works that You are doing. For no one does anything in secret while he himself seeks to be known openly. And if You do these things, show Yourself to the world. For even his brothers did not believe in him. Jesus said to them, My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready. The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me, because I testify of it that its works are evil. go up to the feast, I am not yet going up to the feast, for my time has not yet fully come. And when He had said these things to them, He remained in Galilee. But when His brothers had gone up, then He also went up to the feast, not openly, but as it were, in secret. …
