without condemning her. Let's read the account of John chapter 8 verses 1 through 11. I invite you to open your Bibles to John 8. I'll be reading from the New Living Translation. Beginning at John chapter 8 verse 1. Jesus returned to the Mount of Olives. But early the next morning he was back again at the temple. A crowd soon gathered, and he sat down and taught them. As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd. Teacher, they said to Jesus, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say? They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. They kept demanding an answer. So he stood up again and said, All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone. …
… And she looks around and says, there are none left, Lord. And then he says those famous words to her, neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more. The woman could have left that encounter still full of shame and self-loathing because of her sin. That would have been easy. I mean, y'all, less than an hour before, she'd been committing adultery. Like I said, she's likely still half naked from the encounter. But I suspect that she went home with joy because that moment was not defined by her sin. It was defined by the incredible declaration of that man and his acceptance and her salvation. Mourning comes from looking at your sin. Joy comes from looking at him. Some of you are appropriately broken over your sin. You're in despair. I get it. I'm just telling you it's time for you to embrace the more important part of the gospel. Neither do I condemn you. This is a day of joy for you, not sadness. And you need to let the joy of that salvation become your strength now. …
… was left and with the woman still standing there jesus straightened up again and asked her woman where are they has nobody condemned you no one sir she said well then neither do i condemn you Jesus declared, go now and leave your life of sin. Oh, I like that part right there. Go now and whatever you've been involved in, whatever you've been living in, leave that life and walk now in your new life. I want to preach a message today. Write down the title. It's called full. I put an exclamation point at the end because whenever Jesus is around, you got to put an exclamation point. Jesus exclamation point. Full. I like that idea. Full. Because Jesus is full of peace. He is full of truth. He is full of wisdom. Jesus is full of love. That's why the love of God is not conditional. It's unconditional. He is full. I'm so excited, by the way. Not only do we give a bunch of money away to people in Jamaica and LA, but I'm so excited for our Thanksgiving food drive. Who's excited to help people have a great Thanksgiving? Where, where are the Thanksgiving lovers at? Who loves Thanksgiving? Julia, my wife says she likes Thanksgiving more than Christmas because, because it's all the food without the pressure of presents. Ain't nothing like Thanksgiving day. Thanksgiving day is amazing. We get to watch the Cowboys lose on Thanksgiving. You know, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving is where it's at. I love Thanksgiving, man. Thanksgiving kind of freaks …
… woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you? And she said, no one, Lord. And Jesus said to her, neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more. And then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. He who has ears to hear the Word of God, let them hear it. You may be seated. Let us pray. And now, our Father, as we give attention to this passage so well known from the New Testament, so beloved in Thy church, for the way it bears witness to Your mercy and grace, we ask that You would grant understanding to us and to our lives. We ask it in Jesus' name. Amen. Before we look at the content of this text, let me just take a moment or two to explain what I meant when I said some of you may not find this particular passage at the beginning of the Gospel of John in the eighth chapter. I have with me my New Testament copy of the Nestle's text in Greek, and I've pointed this out to you before, but for those of you who have supervision, you ought to be able to see the difference between the size of the text on this page, on this page, and the size on this page. …
