A slave does not remain in the house forever, but a son remains forever.A bondservant doesn’t live in the house forever. A son remains forever. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. And the bondservant abideth not in the house for ever: the son abideth for ever.

… Either I surrender or I fight. Now, that's the way we find Jesus in this crowd that surrounded him in John chapter 8, verses 12 to 59. He is not around a crowd that had never heard of God. I want to make that clear. He is in a context of religion. As a matter of fact, one of the three great festivals of the year is where he was at the time he spoke the words of John 8, the Feast of Tabernacles. Remember the other time that he brought a sword? He said, Are any of you thirsty? Come to me and drink. They were pouring out the water from that sacred vessel on that sacred altar, and he said, Wait a minute! Let me tell you where real water is. Free at Last
Charles Stanley · Scripture reading

… everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin, and the slave does not remain in the house forever, the son does remain forever. If, therefore, the son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed. Now, if I were to ask you tonight, How many of you are in bondage? Some form of bondage. I wonder how many people, to be honest, would have to lift their hands and say, Well, I am. Now, I'm talking prime earthly believers because more than likely most of you here tonight are saved. That is, you have already trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior. You know that you're saved. But you've never felt a real, genuine, true sense of freedom. It's like every time you want to have a liftoff, there's something that has a hold on you that's waiting you down. You've never truly been freed to become, to be, to enjoy, to do. There's just something there. Now, Jesus said, if you know the truth, the truth will set you free. …

… Whoever commits sin is a slave of sin, and the slave of sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore, if the son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. I know that you are Abraham's descendants, but you seek to kill me because my word has no place in you. I speak what I have seen with my father, and you do what you have seen with your father. And they answered and said to him, Abraham is our father. Jesus said to them, if you were Abraham's children, you would do the works of Abraham. But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this. you do the deeds of your father. And they said, we were not born of fornication. We have one father, God. And Jesus said to them, if God were your father, you would love me, for I proceedeth forth and came from God. Nor have I come of myself, but he sent me. Why do you not understand my speech, because you're not able to listen to my word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. …
