Only may Yahweh your God be with you, as he was with Moses.According as we hearkened unto Moses in all things, so will we hearken unto thee: only the Lord thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.According as we hearkened unto Moses in all things, so will we hearken unto thee: only Jehovah thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.

… answered Joshua and said all that you have commanded us we will do and wherever you send us we will go. Just as we obeyed Moses in all things, so we will obey you. Only may the Lord your God be with you as he was with Moses. Whoever rebels against your commandment and disobeys your words, whatever you command him, shall be put to death. Only be strong and courageous. This is what jumped out at me. was the people. And I think why it jumped out to me is we don't see this in our day and age. We don't see a group of people who courageously follow a leader. Oh, you guys all go online and post your thoughts, your opinions courageously. That's what we do. We think it's courage. I'm going to speak my mind. So you don't have anyone saying to someone else, you be strong and courageous. One of my concerns about this generation that we live in is that we may not know the difference between courageous and rebellious. …
And there's a command that flows from that reality. So in light of God's presence, be strong and be courageous. And that is what I want us to meditate on for a few moments. how does God's presence with the Christian create strength and courage in the Christian I want to just think about this let this soak in to absorb this not just to think about this in Joshua's life so yes we want to understand what's going on in his life we want to soak this in to our own lives Christian, what effect does knowing God is with you have upon you? that's what I found myself meditating on in my life last week, even with some things that I'm walking through in my life. Reading Deuteronomy 31 a few days ago, then Joshua 1 today, here's what I'm soaking in. And obviously, I don't know all that each of you are walking through in your own lives, but I've got a feeling that what we just read has a lot of room to soak in to lives and families. …

Only may the Lord, your God, be with you as he was with Moses. Whoever rebels against your commandment and disobeys your words, whatever you command him shall be put to death. Only be strong and courageous. and to me that stood out to me because I go that is so weird today for people to look at a leader and say I'll follow you just be strong and courageous when's the last time you saw that when's the last time you said that to someone and yet if you're thinking kingdom it's the only way it works there has to be leadership there has to be someone or one group in the lead and then the mass is going I'm going to pray for you I'm going to follow you I trust God put you in that position just lead us in a courageous way like when's the last time someone encouraged you to lead and just again that word and courage it's like people giving you courage and i was sharing how those early days really all the days at cornerstone um when i was there it was a powerful movement, I do believe. …
