This Time Around...

… The armed men went ahead of them and the rear guard followed the ark of the Lord while the trumpets kept sounding. So on the second day, they marched around the city once and returned to the camp. They did this for six days. And here comes the good part. Verse 15. On the seventh day, they got up at daybreak and marched around the city seven times in the same manner, except that on that day, they circled the city seven times. The seventh time around when the priest sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the army, shout for the Lord has given you the city. Yeah, that's all right too. Shout for the Lord has given you the city and drop down to verse 20, when the trumpet sounded, the army shouted. And at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall came down. So everyone charged straight in and they took the city. Give God praise that he can do stuff like that. Now you see why we love this story? It's an amazing Bible story. You see why we like to preach about it? Because it reminds us for the struggles that we face, it reminds us that God has a strategy for every situation you face. God has a strategy for every situation that you face. Put that in the comments. God has a strategy. Tell it to your neighbor. God has a strategy. Just because I can't see it doesn't mean he doesn't have it. …

And when the trumpet sounded, the army shouted. And at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the walls collapsed. so everyone charged straight in and they took the city man what an account we can clap for the word of god we can clap for the word of god we'll go back So we are seeing in the chapters leading up to this, in chapter one of Joshua, Joshua gets appointed to leader. He takes over Moses. And then we have the other chapters that come. And in chapters three and four, we see God make a way. And Joshua and the Israelites cross the Jordan River on dry ground. And then we get to chapters five. And there is a covenant renewed. Remember that? Remember Pastor Louis talking about that? The circumcision. Everyone. Circumcised on that hill. … Joshua 6, 14. You know what they did on the second day? they marched. It says the second day they marched around the city once and returned to the camp. They did this for six days. Day one, day two, day three, day four, day five, day six. They did what God told them to do. don't don't take this as some just story in the past let it come alive again to you today you know what's crazy that god could have taken down the wall at any moment he wanted to god did not need seven days he didn't need seven laps he didn't need the people blowing the trumpets he can do when he wants where he wants how he wants. But for some reason, he invited the people or tasked the people to march. And what were they doing when they were marching? They were following God's instruction, but they were also waiting to see God bring a breakthrough. And I don't know what you're up against. I don't know what you're going through. I don't know your family's walking through. …

… and the rear guard went behind the ark of the Lord. on the second day, they marched around the city once and returned to the camp. They did this for six days. We doing okay? Making our way through, almost through. Here we go. Early on the seventh day, they started at dawn and marched around the city seven times in the same way. That was the only day they marched around the city seven times, and after the seventh time, the priest blew the ram's horns, and Joshua said to the troops, shout, for the Lord has given you the city. but the city and everything in it are set apart for the Lord for destruction only Rahab the prostitute and everyone with her in the house will live because she hid the messengers we sent but keep yourselves from things set apart or you will be set apart for destruction if you take any of those things you will set apart the camp of Israel for destruction and make trouble for it for all the silver and gold and the articles of bronze and iron are dedicated to the Lord and must go into the Lord's treasury. So the troops shouted and the ram's horns sounded. And when they heard the blast of the ram's horns, the troops gave a great shout and the wall collapsed. The troops advanced into the city, each man straight ahead, and they captured the city. They completely destroyed everything in the city with the sword. Every man …

… Keep going. And the second day they marched around the city once and returned to camp. So they did six days. days. But I love when God sticks his butt in my situation. It came to pass on the seventh day that they rose early about the dawning of the day and marched around the city seven times in the same manner. On that day, only they marched around the city seven times. and the seventh time it happened. I like that. That sounds, it happened. When the priest blew the trumpets that Joshua said to the people, shout for the Lord has given you the city. Now the city shall be doomed by the Lord to destruction. It and all who are in it, only Rahab the heartlet shall live. she and all who are with her in the house because she hid the messengers that we sent. That's another story. We'll talk about that on another day. And you, by all means, abstain from the accursed things, lest you become accursed when you take of the accursed thing and make the camp of Israel accursed and trouble it. …
