Here Comes the Son | J.D. Greear
J.D. Greear, 2026-08-18 · Scripture reading

… before the presence of his glory with great joy to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, authority before all time, now and forever, because salvation belongs to him forever and ever. Amen. Jude ends his book by saying, It's only Jesus who can keep you. By the way, this is a beautiful example of parallelism. Verse 21, he says, keep yourselves in the love of God. Verse 24, not a him who's able to keep you. Only Jesus can do it. It's like I told you the very first week in this series, the example of my kids when they were little, standing with me in the ocean. So it's just not the strength of their hold on me, but the strength of my hold on them that keeps them safe in the crashing waves. If it were up to any of us, We'd lose hold of Jesus and wander out from under the protection of his love. The other night, three of my kids and I were talking. …

Dr. Kevin DeYoung | Kept for Jesus Christ
Kevin DeYoung, 2026-08-10

… Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority before all time and now and forever. Amen. I told you there could be five sermons in here. There is a lot going on. Some of it is strange and confusing. It's enough to make you want to scream out, hey Jude! Okay, there's the obligatory, got that out of the way, no more Jude Bellingham, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Jude Law, Jude the Obscure, no more Jude. Scholars recognize that Jude is an excellent writer. There's lots of illusions. You saw them. Some of them you probably knew, others you weren't sure what was going on. There's lots of examples piled up on top of each other, and there's lots of items. It's full of examples, three of this, four of that, five descriptive phrases, three different groups, four different attributes. The best way to explain the whole book is to simply try to explain it paragraph by paragraph and summarize at the end with this big picture idea, keep. So, you are kept, that's the very beginning. God is able to keep you, that's the end. And most of the letter there in the middle is to say, here's what you need to do to keep yourselves in the love of God. …

Bruce Creswell | The Best is Yet to Come
Bruce Creswell, 2026-06-01

… before the presence of your glory with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority. O Lord, as we enter into a new week, as we enter into a new day, so may we have our focus not only concerning this world in our lives, but also what awaits us. And so to live in the reality that heaven is our home. And so may we live with the joy of knowing that whatever comes our way, that the best is yet to come. So may we be faithful, O Lord. Help us to live around this world, in our communities, in our homes and families, the joy of having our sins forgiven, a Savior in heaven who's preparing a place for us. And we wait for the trumpet call. And so now we ask your blessing, Lord, upon each here.

What to Do When Your Spirits Sink
John Piper, 2025-11-29 · Scripture reading

… Now unto him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with rejoicing. To the only God our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord be glory and authority and majesty and dominion forever. That's what you know. If you're a believer, he keeps his own. Those he calls, he keeps. I will wake up a believer tomorrow morning because God has kept me or I won't be a believer tomorrow morning. We trust in God, not ourselves. So the security that we enjoy, the assurance that we have that the ups and downs of our joy and the ups and downs of our faith don't destroy us. They won't. God has patterns built into the Bible to help us manage the downs. It's not hard to manage the ups. And that's what we're talking about this morning. There is a fight for faith. And the fight for faith is a fight for joy. if I was right on Friday night that to have saving faith in Jesus is to be awakened to the enjoyment of Jesus. …

… the emboldened words to the only God our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord be glory majesty dominion authority before all time and now and forever Jude got it Jesus was pre-incarnation pre-creation so to understand jesus to realize the significance to make a case for why he is the only one we do well to ponder what was going on in the mind and in the heart of the pre-creation pre-incarnate christ well we don't have to speculate he told us first of all before time before creation, Jesus shared God's glory. On the night before his death, Jesus prayed, Now, Father, bring me into the, can you say it with me? Glory we shared before the world began. Glory is such a grand word, isn't it? When you see an eagle making circles in the sky, when you see virgin snow in the winter, When you see a cloudless night, oh, that's glory. That's glory. Something majestic. But nothing compares with the brilliant, endless glory of God. You might recall Moses, who had the opportunity to communicate with God, and he made this request. …

… He is able to make you stand in the presence of His glory, blameless with great joy. to the only God our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord be glory majesty dominion and authority before all time and now and forever amen people have asked me through the years occasionally don't you worry about what the devil can do to you never had such a thought in my entire life because ultimately I know what he can do to me if my life isn't what it should be I know He can render me useless and He can take away my joy and all of that, but I know what He'll never do to me, and that is separate me from final salvation. That allows me to go to battle without fear. Nothing can separate me from the love of Christ fulfilled in final glory. well the last part of the armor is the sword of the spirit and that's explanatory by the very words of scripture which is the word of god it's the term machaira it's that small dagger it's not the long broad sword it's the small dagger well what is that saying to us it's the Word of God. It's not logos, it's rhema, which logos means a general word. Rhema means a specific statement. And listen, this is important. You defend yourself, first of all, with the Word of God when you know the specific statement that counters the temptation. Did you get that? …
