Though you are small, God loves to show up in small places. God loves to show up in obscure places. God loves to show up in the unexpected. It's not the obvious person that God often uses. It's the person that everybody looked past. So funny, one time Jesse, the Bible says that this prophet, his name was Samuel, comes to choose the second king of Israel. And he shows up at a man named Jesse. Jesse's got a lot of sons. His sons are not as good as mine. Mine dominate. Mine sing Feliz Navidad. But nevertheless, he's got a lot. and Samuel shows up to Jesse's house and he says, the next king of Israel's in your home and he says, the dad, Jesse says yeah he is let me bring you my oldest and he brings out his oldest like a prized possession and he brings out his oldest son and he's like, is this who you're talking about? …
… We don't understand how powerful that name is. We are given a powerful insight in Micah chapter 5 and verse 2. But thou, O Bethlehem, though thou be little in Judah, yet out of thee shall come forth the ruler of Jerusalem. And his going forth, his goings forth have been of old from everlasting. He's talking about a God who has been going forth all the way back to the Old Testament. He's moving, moving, moving until we get to that manger in Bethlehem. It's the going force of God. God on the move. God unveiling himself like an onion with the layers just being peeled back and revealed. God was going forth throughout the scriptures. He started it at creation. The same God who created the heavens and the earth was the same God who was born in that manger. Jesus was God in skin. Layer after layer began to be unfolded and unveiled. And he begins in the Old Testament to give names of who he was. …

That's crazy. He's going forth. He's going forth from a boy, even prior to his birth, even prior to creation, he still was. He's the ancient of days. He will always be.
