who, by the power that enables Him to subject all things to Himself, will transform our lowly bodies to be like His glorious body.who will change the body of our humiliation to be conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working by which he is able even to subject all things to himself.Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.who shall fashion anew the body of our humiliation, that it may be conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working whereby he is able even to subject all things unto himself.

… a blessedness in which to praise God eternally. And saying that, we want to look in God's word now to Philippians chapter 3, verses 20 and 21. we find in those two verses some thoughts that address those questions asked in question 57 and 58. Paul was writing this and his focus is on joy and as we see that trace through the chapters of Philippians we come to this portion of scripture that reads but our citizenship is in heaven and from it we await a savior lord jesus christ who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself let's pray again lord we thank you for bringing us to your house tonight how we thank you for your word your word is truth and as we open to it tonight we so ask that our hearts would be open to receive it and we pray that the holy spirit will open our eyes that we might recapture if we have grown dim in our heavenly vision that lord tonight that we would leave here with our focus we're in heaven while we're still on this earth now lord would you grant me your grace and may as our dear pastor prays so often to preach the spirit would preach a better sermon than myself i ask in your name amen in philippians chapter 3 verse 20 and 21 it lends itself to three great truths that we want to look at. …

… He will transform the lowly body, these lowly bodies, to be like his glorious body by the power that enables him to subject all things to himself. When Christ, who is your life, appears, you will appear with him in glory. The creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. A lot of people make a very big deal today out of the new heavens and the new earth, and they chastise. Evangelicals and fundamentalists because we believe in heaven. as if that were not possible to believe in both. And I want to stress the opposite. Remember, persons are the pinnacle of his creation, not galaxies. Persons are the pinnacle of his glory, not nature, not new heavens, not new earth. The son will have a beautiful bride, not mainly a beautiful estate. That's huge, brothers. Don't get this out of whack. Don't under or overemphasize the new heavens and the new earth. The new heavens and the new earth, according to Romans 8, is a footnote to your glory. …

… God's people because the risen Jesus today has a body. Clearest text is Philippians 3.21. We await a savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body by the power that enables him to subject all things to himself. So today, Jesus Christ, King of the universe, has a body in heaven. Luke 24, he said, do you have something to eat? You have a fish. They gave him a fish. He ate the fish to prove he wasn't a ghost. and he never laid aside that body. Let's dig in a little deeper. Why not? I know evangelicals who don't think Jesus has a body today. I had to write an email to one. Are you kidding me? I said, where did you get that crazy notion? Why does the Son of God still have a body? Why didn't he just reverse Philippians 2, 5 to 8? Right? So now you've risen from the dead spiritually. You can lay aside that human form. You can lay aside that likeness to men. You can lay aside that servant form. You can lay aside that self-emptying and you can take your spiritual seat at the spirit, God is spirit, right hand. Why didn't he do that? …

… and Philippians chapter 3. Every Age Has a Stage

… and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body by the power that enables him to subject all things to himself, Philippians 3, 20-21. By this wonderful focus on what God has done and what he will yet do, we're never too old. We're never without purpose and meaning. Stretch your thanks, your prayers, your understanding, and your anticipation. It is as Paul wrote, quoting 1 Isaiah 64, But no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him, these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. And now we have received not the Spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. 1 Corinthians 2, 9 and 12. Here we have more than enough to stretch us for all the days to come. And so there's a stage for every age, a place to use the talents we are given and to see faith grow. …

Time Is Running Out
Levi Lusko, 2025-09-01

… We are going to see him revealed, the text said, and we are going to be like him for we shall see him as he is. Philippians 3.21 says, in that moment he will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to his glorious body according to the working by which he is able. Someone say he is able. Even to subdue all things to himself. What that verse is saying is kind of like what happens when you go to the telephone store to buy a new mobile phone. And you're looking at them and they're all anchored to the wall. Like, what are they so worried that we're going to do with these phones? The moment you walk out of the store, they're all bricks anyway, but they're all just on this very small leash, right? So you have to pretend that you're living with this phone, only you can't move very much, right? Is this the kind of thing I want? No, no, let me check it out a little bit here, right? …
