… in just a moment we're gonna pray a prayer and when we pray this prayer the bible tells us according to Romans 10 9 all we have to do is believe and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and he died and rose for us and it says it literally takes all of your history sins Hold on, some of y'all And it says he throws them As far as the east Is from the west And he remembers them Nope God's already made a decision about you Once you make a decision for him So if that's you And you want to make Jesus Christ your personal Lord and Savior in the lobby, in the overflow, all over this auditorium. On the count of three, I want you to raise your hand and be included in that prayer. One, you're making the greatest decision of your life. Two, this is why the church exists and God is proud of you and so are we. Three, there's hands already going up right now. I see you. I see you. I see you. Oh, come on. I see you. I see you. …

… night, if we was drunk or high last night, if we were lying last night, if we were in an alternate lifestyle sexually last night, it doesn't matter. Because at the moment you do what Romans 10 9 says, God says it's even at the foot of the cross and Christians and believers try to make there be big sins and little sins But everybody is even and he says all you got to do is believe I sent my son He died for you and he rose again and it said you are saved and I know I'm fighting that religious spirit right now That's telling people that ain't what I believe but I got a scripture for you, too So look at it in Mark chapter 2 verse 16 because religious people who are judgmental aren't new that's been around since Jesus was walking the earth. And there was some teachers of religious law who were Pharisees. And they saw him, that's Jesus, eating with tax collectors and other sinners, which all of us are, without the grace of God. …

… in our Bible reading Romans 10 9 pick it up in 9 Because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says everyone who believes in Him will not be put to shame. For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek. For the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing His riches on all who call on Him. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. how then can they call on Him in whom they've not believed? And how are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they're sent, as it is written, how beautiful are feet of those who preach the good news? …

Is There a Question God Can’t Handle?
Craig Groeschel, 2026-10-04

… not something else, but you've never fully surrendered your life to him. We looked last week at the truth of God's word that Jesus says, if you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you would be saved. There's a phrase in there I want you to think about. Jesus is Lord. Not just he forgives your sins and keeps you out of hell, but he is Lord of your life. I'm going to ask you right now, is he the Lord of your he gets the final word. That means that it's not our desires, our will, our plans, but his will, his way, his word. And all of our churches today, if you recognize that you've never fully surrendered to him as Lord, we're not praying a selfish prayer, just forgive me, just keep me out of hell. We're praying a sacrificial prayer. I lay down my life, Jesus. You be the savior and the Lord of my life, first in every way. …

You’re Not the Only One Wondering This
Craig Groeschel, 2026-09-27

… And this is what God's word said in Romans 10, 9. If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Notice, the Bible doesn't say if you never doubt, if you never struggle, or if you always feel close to God. But if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, believe in your heart, you will be saved. Ephesians 2.8, Paul said this, this was the verse that brought me to Christ. For it is by grace, God's unmerited favor, by his grace you've been saved through faith. It is the gift of God, not by works. In other words, you're never saved because you're good enough. You're never saved because you're holy enough. You're only saved because Jesus was good enough. He was perfect. He was without sin. He shed his blood. The Lamb of God, the innocent one, died in your place. So when God looks at you, he doesn't see your sin. …

Grace and Forgiveness (Part 2 of 2)
Alistair Begg, 2026-09-24

… And then he reached to a dresser, and he took a Bible, and he read him this verse. If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. And he said to Shannon, Do you want to be saved? And Shannon, as surprised as anybody in the room, said yes. And the man led him to Christ. He got out of there, went home, led both his brother and his sister to Christ. Some of you are not far from the kingdom, but you're not in the kingdom, because you've sung about hearing the call of the kingdom. Do you hear it? It is a call to repentance and to faith in Jesus. It is a call to be heeded, and it is a call that may be heeded now. So let me ask you, what would prevent you from acceding to Christ's call and becoming a Christian today? And if that describes you as a follower of Jesus, can we take the challenge together to be graciously, increasingly bold in risking all in terms of reputation by just saying to some of our friends, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. And then to ask them, Would you like to be saved? …

For All In The Family
Jack Hibbs, 2026-09-20

… to all men or all mankind because all sinned. Romans 6, 23, for the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 10, verses 9 through 11, because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the scripture says, everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame. Romans 10, 13. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Make sure that's you. Call upon him today. Standing right now where you're at, you can say, Lord, I'm calling upon you. And the great prophet Isaiah said that if you'll call upon the name of the Lord, you shall be saved. And we try to complicate that. He's convicting you. He's calling you out. …

Plugging In To God's Power | Victoria Osteen
Victoria Osteen, 2026-08-22

… But you've got to turn it on. How do we turn on this power? Listen to what it says in romans 10 9 Now you have to understand this verse is so key to the power of god in you It says if you will declare with your mouth That jesus is lord And if you will believe with your heart that god raised him from the dead Then you will be saved with the heart man believes with the mouth man makes confessions unto righteousness when you make Jesus the Lord of your life by saying I believe God sent his son he died on the cross for me he rose again on the third day so that I can be free from sin that I am on my way to heaven guess what happens you go from a house, a temple that has no wiring to being fully wired. You're fully wired. But to switch on that power that is in you, it says it's with the heart man believes and with the mouth, he confesses. You see, that is the switch that turns on the power. I talked to a man the other day, and he told me, Victoria, I've had seven strokes. The doctor has found three lesioned areas on my brain. He said, I found myself walking with a cane. I could hardly get around. He said, I'm a pastor of a church. He said, I began to realize my life is just powerless and I began to say, God, what is going on? Why do I deserve this? What is wrong? …

You will be saved. And it is by grace that you are saved through faith. It is the gift of God, not of work, so that no one can boast. You come to Jesus like you are. You build your life on his love. You build your life on what he did for you on Calvary. You build it on his acceptance of you. And you do it now before it's too late. You do it now before your house falls down. You do it now while the blood is still running warm in your veins. You do it now while there's still breath in your lungs. You do it now. He is here now. Today is your day of salvation. Speak Boldly – Part 3
David Platt, 2026-01-21

… word there, Christ. It's the Messiah, the promised Messiah, the Savior, the one who would save us from our sins. So you confess Christ as your Savior. Same thing in Romans chapter 10, verse 9 and 10. To confess your mouth to Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead. He died on the cross to save you, and he's risen from the dead. You will be saved. So you confess him as your Savior and also as your Lord. God has made this Jesus whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ. That word right there, it's so huge. I wish we had time this morning to dive into it, but we'd be here another version of this sermon next week. But the word Lord used over a hundred times in the book of Acts, many times used to refer to God the Father, but the majority of time used to refer to Jesus. Basically, it means the word means God who rules or God who reigns. And so it's saying that Jesus is God, God in the flesh, that he wasn't just a man, but it's also saying that he is sovereign. …

Now, anyone can just say those words. You can get AI to say those words. But no one can truly, with a heart of faith, say those words except in the Holy Spirit. Paul describes his ministry, 2 Corinthians 4, 5, for what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord. Now that language is so familiar to many of us, and that's a blessing in some ways. But it means that also the danger, we may not feel the full weight. It just kind of rolls off your tongue. Jesus is Lord. Oh, wait a minute. Time out. Jesus. Jesus. Now that's not simply repeating words. Jesus, okay, I'll say it. Jesus is Lord. No, it's confessing. It's saying, I believe that he is the Messiah. I believe he's not just a good man, not just a good teacher, not just a good guy that did good things. I believe that he is the Messiah. I believe he's the sent one of God to save the world. And I believe he's Lord. He's not just a good friend, a counselor, somebody I can lean on. I believe that he is, in fact, Lord. Jesus is Lord. And you believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, because that is the linchpin of our gospel. Yes, he died for the sins of the world, gave his life in the place of you and me, innocent for the guilty. Yes, he was buried in a tomb, but he was raised up. That's a promise. And we hold on to that promise. We do confess Jesus as Lord. We do believe that He rose from the dead as the validation of His substitutionary atonement and its efficacy. And it's on Your faithfulness that we rest. We thank You that You have given us such a dramatic illustration of the covenant keeper that You are, and how that encourages our own hearts. Because along the way we certainly come up with enough reasons to think that we are unworthy. that you would have every right to let us go as you would have had the people of Israel. And yet you held your promise. This is everything to us. He that is promised is faithful. Faithful to bring us to glory, to bring us to that inheritance that is laid up in heaven for us, to bring us into your presence and perfect us in the image of Christ. …

The Resurrection of Everyone (John 5:25-29)
John MacArthur, 2022-04-17

… cross or the resurrection. Now, I know Romans 10 says, if you confess Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. That's because on the side of the death on the cross and the resurrection, you must believe in that. But before that, it was a matter of believing all that had been revealed, and God accounted that kind of faith as the faith that embraced divine righteousness. You see the same thing in the 36th verse of John 3, he who believes in the Son has eternal life, and the wrath of God doesn't abide on him. So already people who believed in Him, like the disciples, they hadn't gotten to the cross yet. Like the Samaritans, we see that in chapter 4. If you look at chapter 4 of John's gospel, you see many Samaritans who believed, down in verse 41, after Jesus' encounter with the woman at the well, many more believed because of His Word. …

Salvation is not a cafeteria line where you say, I think I'll have some Saviorhood today, thank you, but no Lordship. And so we're going to take the whole counsel, the whole Bible. And out of the whole Bible, we're going to present the whole Christ. And actually, the whole Christ is found in the whole Bible. Jesus said, search the Scriptures, for these are they which testify of me. And if you read the Bible and you don't find the Lord Jesus Christ, you better go back and reread it. standing somewhere in the shadows, you'll find Christ. He is there in poetry. He is there in precept. He's there in prophecy. He is there in parable. …
