… But the person led by God's Spirit evaluates, judges all things, and he himself is judged by no man. because who has known the mind of the Lord or has instructed him? But we, we together have the mind of Christ. That's from 1 Corinthians chapters 1 and 2. Paul teaches them and he teaches us that God is by nature a loving father. He's a good dad and God has always been like this. He's always been overflowing with this spirit of fatherly love because God has always had his son, Jesus. And God created us. He created all humans to become like his son, like Jesus, to become God's adopted children, God's kids. God wants to give us his spirit so that we can become more and more like Jesus, our brother. And that's been the plan from the beginning. God worked it all out in his mind, all in advance, and he put it in motion. But Satan, this powerful spiritual being created by God, but now turned away from God, somehow got us humans to believe that it was all foolishness. …
… and his paths beyond tracing out. Who has known the mind of the Lord or who has been his counselor? Who has ever given to God that God should repay them? For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen. You know you're singing good when you amen yourself, right? Most people stop there, but verse three is important. He says, for by the grace given me, I say to every one of you, do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment in according with the faith God has distributed to each of you. …
… How inscrutable are his ways. Who has known the mind of the Lord or who has been his counselor? Answer, nobody. Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid? Nobody puts God in their debt. For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever and ever. God is great. Third observation, God has revealed himself, his ways, his purposes in his word. Otherwise, we're just jabbering. I look at Christians who don't believe the Bible and still hold on to a little bit of Christianity and I say, you're just making it up. If you leave the book, you're making it up. Those are two choices. You can go with the book and the way God has described himself and his ways, or if you lay the book down and turn away and you come up with ideas to call Christianity, you're just making it up. That's going to look ridiculous on the last day. I promise you, you're going to wipe your eyes out for trying to make up a new Christianity. …
