We have different gifts according to the grace given us. If one’s gift is prophecy, let him use it in proportion to his faith;having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us: if prophecy, let’s prophesy according to the proportion of our faith;Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;And having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith;

… 12 and see what Paul says. Romans 12, verse 6. In His grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. If God has given you the ability to prophesize, speak out with as much faith as God has given you, if your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you're a teacher, teach well. If your gift is encouraging others, that's a gift of exhortation, be encouraging. If your gift is giving, then give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take that responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. I'll stop there. Certain terms bubble up here. Do it well, generously, gladly. Take this responsibility seriously. The gift of teaching is mentioned here. And if you're called to teach, he says, teach well. It's an awesome responsibility to be called to teach. The Bible says in 2 Timothy 2.15, we should know how to handle the word of God correctly. And then James 3.1 says, brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly. …

… So let's read a few more verses. Romans 12, verse six. In this grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. If God has given you the ability to prophesize, speak out with as much faith as God has given you, prophecy. Is that gift still for today? I believe it is. When we think of a prophet, we think of someone that predicts the future. And the gift of prophecy can include this. However, if you claim to be a prophet, and I don't know if we really have what we would call prophets today. But if we do, and you claim to be one of these prophets, you better be accurate in your predictions. Otherwise, yes, you're a prophet with one word in front of it, false. So I see these people making these predictions. This will happen and it doesn't happen. False prophet. Not gonna listen to you anymore. But the word prophecy means to speak for another. So the gift of prophecy is a supernatural insight into something that didn't come from your mind. …

… this last one of these gifts, and they're all listed in Romans chapter 12, verse six through eight. You might want to turn there if you've never noticed these gifts. So, if you'll notice what he says beginning in verse six. Since we have gifts that differ, watch that. He created us all differently. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly. That is, I'm to exercise that spiritual gift that God has given me. Listen, if it's prophecy according to our faith, if service in His serving, if it's teaching in His teaching, He who exhorts in His exhortation, He who gives with liberality, he who leads with diligence, and he who shows mercy with cheerfulness. Now, let me say something very carefully here. While we speak in terms of motivational gifts, we're talking about that inner drive, that underlying motivation that motivates us to do what we do, the way we do it, think the way we think, and act the way we act. …

The Gift of Organization
Charles Stanley

… of these gifts, there are different ministries. But Paul said in Romans chapter 12, verses six through eight, he lists and he describes for us what these motivational gifts are and each person has at least one motivational gift and oftentimes more than not, there are secondary gifts that come close, all of which fit together which simply says that God has equipped every single one of His children, that is those of us of us who've trusted Christ as our Savior, that's when the Holy Spirit comes to live His life in and through us and to grant us the gift and put it to work. He has enabled us to so live and to so operate we'll be a success or whatever He calls us to do. So listen to what He says these gifts are in Romans chapter 12 beginning in verse six. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, that is God's the one who decides, He says, then each one of us is to exercise them accordingly. …

… so we, being many, are one body in Christ and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them. If prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith, or ministry, let us use it in our ministering. He who teaches in teaching, he who exhorts in exhortation, he who gives with liberality, he who leads with diligence, he who shows mercy with cheerfulness. The Word of God for the people of God. Thanks be to God. Please be seated. Let us pray. Again, our Father, as we undertake the task of interpreting this text that You have given to us through Your Apostle by the supervision of the Holy Ghost, we ask for Your aid to illumine the meaning of it to our minds and to open our hearts to embrace it in its fullness. for we ask it in Jesus' name. Amen. Several years ago, I met with a consultant, and he asked me some unusual questions. He asked that I take out a piece of paper and number it from 1 to 10, and I thought a pop quiz of some sort was coming. And he said to me, what I'd like you to do is write down on this side of the paper the ten most meaningful compliments you have ever received. And he said, I want you to just write down what the compliment was, how old you were when you received it, and who it was who …
