Open up the Bibles that you have or look to the screens to Romans chapter 15 verses 30 to 33 and we are in what should be, I pray, our last study in chapter 15. And you say, yeah, but there's still chapter 16 and how many years will that be? Chapter 16 is going to go really quick, I promise. I'll read verse 30 if you pick it up nice and loud in verse 31 and so on. Paul says, now I beg you, brethren, through the Lord Jesus Christ and through the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in prayers to God for me. That I may be delivered from those in Judea who do not believe, and that my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints. That I may come to you with joy by the will of God, and may be refreshed together with you. And may the peace be with you all. Amen. Father, we come before you today, and Lord, we're asking you to not only hear our prayer that you might be very present in our learning of the Word of God, but in this day and age, Father, when so much is being said and not much is true, I pray that you'd give us that great gift to all of us, the spirit of discernment, to know what is true, what is not true. …
So let's all stand as we come to this section of the book of Romans chapter 15 verses 30 to 33 and not much but powerful, not much in length but powerful in what is said. And the title of today's message is, Will You Please Come With Me? That's the bottom line of the apostle. When you read this, this is what he's saying. He's saying, will you come with me? He's inviting us. He's inviting those who read this document back then. And for 2,000 years, all of us as believers have been invited to the exact same mission. I love this. We don't have to make it up. Every generation of believers, we don't have to get a new organizational chart. We don't have to get a new purpose for what we've been called to do. Jesus said, go ye therefore into all the world and preach this gospel and do what church? And make disciples of all nations. And that's what we're living to do. That's what the true church has been doing for the last 2,000 years. …
… that I may come to you with joy by the will of God and may be refreshed together with you, and now may the God of peace be with you all. Amen." Paul begs the Roman Christians to pray for him for this journey that he is about to undertake to Jerusalem. He knows there's a price on His head. He knows that there's a bullseye on His back. He knows that there are multitudes of unbelieving Jews that can't wait to get their hands on Him and, if possible, stone Him to death. And so He asked the saints in Rome, please pray for me. I'm going to Jerusalem to deliver this offering, to bring relief to the saints in Jerusalem, but I'm going to need a safe conduct to get in and out of that city. So, pray hard, and that my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints, that the Jewish Christians will accept my ministry to the Gentiles, and that I may come to you with joy by the will of God and be refreshed together with you. …
