Tremble at God's Word
David Platt, 2026-09-30

… that Jews and Gentiles alike are all in their sin. As it's written, there is no one righteous, not even one. No one who understands. No one who seeks God. All have turned away. They have together become worthless. There is no one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves. Their tongues practice deceit. The poison of vipers is on their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood. Ruin and misery mark their ways. In the way of peace, they do not know. There is no fear of God before their eyes. Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth is silenced. The whole world is held accountable to God. And no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law. Rather, through the law, we become conscious of sin. But now a righteousness from God apart from the law has been made known, to which the law and the prophets testify, and this righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. …

For All In The Family

… do you believe this Romans 3 verse 10 says as it is written none is righteous no not one that includes you me Romans 3 23 says for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God your morality mine stinks Romans 5 8 but God shows his love for us and that while we were still sinners Christ died for us wow Romans 5 12 therefore just as sin came into the world through one man and death through sin and so death spread to all men or all mankind because all sinned. Romans 6, 23, for the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 10, verses 9 through 11, because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the scripture says, everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame. Romans 10, 13. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Make sure that's you. Call upon him today. Standing right now where you're at, you can say, Lord, I'm calling upon you. And the great prophet Isaiah said that if you'll call upon the name of the Lord, you shall be saved. And we try to complicate that. He's convicting you. He's calling you out. …

Dr. Kevin DeYoung | No, Not One
Kevin DeYoung, 2026-06-30 · Scripture reading

… We have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin. As it is written, none is righteous. No, not one. No one understands. No one seeks for God. All have turned aside. Together they have become worthless. No one does good. Not even one. Their throat is an open grave. They use their tongues to deceive. The venom of asps is under their lips. Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood. In their paths are ruin and misery. And the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes. I had a birthday this past week. I turned 49. My kids said, don't worry, you're not old, you're not 50. So, I got that. It's amazing when you're 35, 49 seems old. Now, 79 seems pretty young to me. 49. And this may not be true for anyone else but me, but I don't always like looking at photos of myself. You're all, yep, all the rest of you are really good looking, so it's all fine for you. But, you know, sometimes as you get older, you swipe those photos, as I do, and I say, I don't like that photo. I don't like that photo. …

A Conversation About Heaven

You cannot earn your way in. Romans 3.10, there is none righteous, no, not one. In verse 20, therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in his sight. for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Galatians 2.16, a man is not justified by the works of law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. Even we have believed in Christ Jesus that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law. For by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified. You can't do it. So what we could not do, God did. That's the beauty of it. That choice in the garden, the sin that was brought into the world was resolved in another garden the garden of Gethsemane and the cross very near where Jesus hung taking upon him the sin of all of the world and in the same way that snake that bronze snake was a symbol of judgment the cross is to us today what it was to them as they had been bitten by the snake. …

… Chapter three, verse 10. As it is written, there is no one righteous, not even one. No one who understands, no one who seeks God, all have turned away. They have together become worthless. There is no one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves. Their tongues practice deceit. The poison of vipers is on their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood. Ruin and misery mark their ways in the way of peace. They do not know. There is no fear of God before their eyes. In other words, all people everywhere are guilty of sin before a holy God. And here's why this point is so important. Because so many times this question is asked, like someone will ask, well, Pastor, what happens to the innocent man or woman or child in this remote part of the world who's never heard the gospel when they die? And if you were to ask me that question, I would say, without question, based on the Bible, those people go to heaven, even though they've never heard the gospel. …

… and the Lord laid on him, talking about the coming Messiah, the iniquity of us all. Romans 3.10, there is none righteous, not even one. Why? Because righteous means the standard of God. And nobody has met the standard of God. Nobody has been holy, and nobody has been perfect, and nobody can be holy, and nobody can be perfect. And then Romans 3.23, a verse that a lot of us have grown up around, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. And what's the result of that? It's right down here at the end of this first paragraph. And like the rest, we were by nature deserving. The translation I grew up with said objects of wrath. In other words, God's, remember what wrath is. We're just going to go back and forth. Wrath is the judgment of a holy God against all sin. This is the ultimate collision of holiness and sinfulness. It is not a God who is angry at you and saying, I'm going to really smash you into the ground. …

… the nation under judgment. Listen to Romans 3, verse 10. There is none righteous, not even one. There is none who understands. There is none who seeks for God. All have turned aside. Together they have become useless. There is none who does good. There is not even one. Their throat is an open grave. With their tongues they keep deceiving." This is a description of sin, and the first sin specifically mentioned is lying, because, Because again, it is the default position of fallenness. It's where sinners go most naturally. Why? for self-preservation, and to do harm and damage out of anger and hatred. Listen to Psalm 62, just a verse there, and then one or two from Psalm 52. 62.4, they have counseled only to thrust Him down from His high position. They delight in falsehood. Why does a man assail someone else? Because he delights in falsehood. They bless with their mouth, but inwardly they curse. This is just how people are. In the 52nd Psalm, verse 1, why do you boast in evil, O mighty man? …
