… He says, no, in all these things we're more than conquerors through him who loved us. We're convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, nor the present nor the future, nor any powers, nor heights nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. That's gospel. That's good news. Don't miss the bottom line. You want to know how good this gospel is? This gospel is good enough to throw yourself into hell so that other people can have it. which is why Paul says right after that triumphant chapter 8 chapter 9 verse 1 I'm speaking the truth in Christ I'm not lying my conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit that I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart for I could wish that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my kinsmen according to the flesh. …

You’re Not the Only One Wondering This
Craig Groeschel, 2026-09-27

… Paul said this, he said this. He said, for I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. The best news you can imagine, nothing, not your doubts and not your struggles and not your worst day and not your past and not even death can separate you from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. So let's settle some things today. We've covered a lot of ground and I didn't say anything dumb in that one question. We all got through it. If there's some area of your life that you recognize, maybe you're settling for less than what we call wholehearted devotion to God. Let's talk to God about it. If it's sexually, you're maybe asking like, what can I get away with? Instead of how can I honor him with sexual integrity and purity? …

… Shall tribulation or distress, persecution or famine, nakedness or peril or sword? Why This Storm? | Jentezen Franklin
Jentezen Franklin, 2026-08-03

… he's working in all of these things. We're more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, whatever kind of storm comes, nor height, depth, any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. If that don't make you shout, I don't know what it's going to take. Shout, he's praying for me, and I'm going to keep the faith. Shout, he's coming for me. Nothing can separate me from the love of God. This trial, this storm can't separate me from the love of God. it reaches to the lowest valley. It reaches to the highest mountain. And lastly, if you're in a storm and you're a believer and you're doing your best to serve the Lord, he's praying for you. I can't hardly get past that. My best friend is praying for me. He's not only praying for you, that you just keep the faith. …

… ecstatically here. It's Paul, the poet. Listen to him. For I am convinced that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us, listen, from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord, Christus Jesus Curios, Mashiach Yeshua Adonai. What's he doing here with this list? He's laying out, if I put it this way, the parameters of his cosmology. We all have a cosmology, like a basic view of the world. So we have a kind of Einsteinian or maybe now even post-Einsteinian cosmology. There used to be a Newtonian cosmology. Paul had his own. He had kind of a vision of what gave structure to life. Now listen to it again. Neither death nor life. All right. It's still, I mean, one of the great realities of life that we live and that we die. Neither one can separate us from Christ. Nothing in this life and neither our death can separate us. Why? Because he's risen from the dead. He's the conqueror of both life and death. Listen, nor angels, nor principalities. Well, here's part of Paul's cosmos, that above this visible world, there's an invisible world of spiritual powers. …

Speak Boldly – Part 2
David Platt, 2026-01-14

… and God whispers to our hearts that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation that can ever separate you from my love. How about when we're afraid and we don't know what's coming in the future and God says in Isaiah 43, fear not, I have redeemed you. I have called you by name and you are mine. And when you pass through the waters, I will be with you. And when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned. The flames will not set you ablaze because I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, and you are precious and honored in my sight, and I love you. Ladies and gentlemen, Mark chapter 13, verse 31 says, Heaven and earth will pass away, but his word will never pass away. You see how the question becomes not should we listen to the Bible? …

… God has way more mercy than we have mess. This is exactly what Paul gets to, as he says in Romans 8, verses 38 and 39, for I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, our Lord. Oh, you ought to give thanks to a God that even when we try to let go and do our own thing, squeezes us tighter. He's faithful even when we are faithless. Those are wonderful things to say thank you for. Let me close with this story. There's a guy by the name of Eddie Rickenbacker. It's a shame that name probably doesn't resonate with you. Eddie Rickenbacker, legendary pilot in World War I, won all kinds of awards. Later on in life, he would go on to start an airline called Eastern Airlines. It's now gone defunct. But in World War II, General Douglas MacArthur had invited Eddie Rickenbacker to come over to the South Pacific and to encourage the troops. By this time, Eddie Rickenbacker was way too old to actually fight in combat. And so he comes over, he's flying over there, and on his way over there, his plane crashes in the Pacific Ocean. …

… Exodus 14, 14 says that you don't have to do anything. You just have to be still. It's the Lord who goes before you. Romans 8.38, if God is for me, who could be against me? Maybe you feel like you're too disqualified and too broken and too hurting. You've done too much. 2 Corinthians 5.21, he who knew no sin became sin so that you and I could become right with God. God wants to build a boat through your life, and he doesn't use the best boat builders. He uses those who pick up the hammer and say, I'm going to keep building and believing that God's going to do it. What could God do through your life. I think the number one reason that we don't build the boat that God's asked us to build is it's really easy to turn our head to the left and turn our head to the right and look at the boats God's building in other people's life. As followers of Jesus, success is not me compared to you. Success is me compared to what God has asked me to do. So what has God asked you to do? What's the boat that maybe you need to start building for the first time? …

The Triumph of Divine Love (Romans 8:31-39)
John MacArthur, 2024-01-28

… you to turn in your Bible to Romans chapter 8. It's a great chapter, but we're going to look particularly at verses 31 to 39, Romans 8, verses 31 to 39. And I'll read that for you just so you have it in mind. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies. Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or peril or sword, as it is written, for your sake we are being put to death all day long. …

… He loved us enough to be certain that we could never be conquered. So I'm convinced, says Paul, that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor things present nor things to come nor powers nor height nor depth nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. The Father loves us, and the Father gave His Son. The Son paid the sacrifice. The Son intercedes. The Son secures our eternity. The church is the church, and the church that was elect and called and justified will be glorified. The Lord is moving in His church in undiminished devotion, sympathy, and love to secure His people forever through all their dangers, sorrows, trials, and temptations. He knows what they are because He was exposed to them Himself. And as John continues to look, he looks from first of all looking at clothing in verse 13 to the person, the Son of Man. And he sees this in verse 14, His head and His hair were white like white, wool like snow. …

More Than Conquerors, Rev. Dr. Howard-John Wesley
Howard-John Wesley, 2020-09-07

… That's Romans chapter 8. For I am persuaded that neither life nor death nor angels nor principalities nor things present nor things to come nor height nor depth nor any other created thing shall be able to separate us from the love of God. That's Romans chapter 8. if God be for us, who can be against us? That's Romans chapter 8. And I am persuaded that in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Christ who loved us. You know where that is? That's Romans chapter 8. As a matter of fact, that's a good title for this series, more than conquerors. And for the next few weeks, I want to walk you through Romans chapter 8 in the hope that it will help your faith. It will strengthen your resolve to hold to God's unchanging hand. It'll help you make sense of what you see in the world. And it will remind you that no matter what comes our way, we are more than conquerors. Before we get into the series and begin walking through these verses, I would suggest to you, as I would with any passage of scripture, that if you would handle the Bible correctly, you must put what you read in context. …

… for your sake, we are killed all day long. We are counted as sheep for the slaughter. Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors. For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any created thing shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. an extraordinary portion of scripture. I want us to walk through these verses, but I want to first just declare something over you. All of this is about the love of God. All of this, all, all of this, the resurrection, the fact that he made us members of one another, that he gave us the promise of eternity. All of this is about the demonstration, the experience, the realization of the love of God in our lives. We sing songs and make declarations like, it's all about you and it's right. We talk about worshiping for the audience of one. It's an appropriate response. …
