The Coming Of The King – Part 3
Jack Hibbs, 2026-06-03

… That's all regarding the first coming of Christ as prophesied in Zechariah 9, verse 9. We saw that before. And then in the middle, watch this. In the middle, it's specific. It's not a coming. I want you to mark this down if you didn't last time. It's an appearing. We've got the first coming of the king. That's 2,000 years ago, roughly. We've got the appearing of the king. We're going to talk about this tonight. And then thirdly, we've got the second coming. A lot of people quickly and wrongly think, oh, the return of Christ is the second coming. No, I have to ask you, what do you mean by that? Because the second coming, some people say, well, you know, the rapture and the second coming, it's all the same thing. It's not the same thing. The first coming is Christ coming to Israel, presenting himself as king. He doesn't do that again until the second coming, presenting himself as king. You're going to see that tonight. …

What Are You Doing?
Steven Furtick, 2026-03-30

… time, but go with me for the sake of an illustration. He goes, Zechariah 9-9. It was in the Old Testament. Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion. Shout, daughter of Jerusalem. See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. I thought it was crazy when he sent us to get the donkey. I thought it was weird when he sent us to get the donkey. I thought it was crazy when he let me go through a divorce and he didn't stop it. I thought it was crazy when the doctor said, you have this disease and you're going to have to go through treatment. I thought that it was crazy. And I asked God, what are you doing? But now I realized that there was a purpose that he was fulfilling that I could not see at the time. And I'm telling you to trust him in the loaves. so you can get to the O. I came to encourage somebody, keep walking. …

Your Only Hope
Jack Hibbs, 2026-03-29

… for now I have seen with my eyes Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion. Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem. Behold, your king, Messiah, anointed one, is coming to you. He is just and having salvation. Lowly, humble, riding on a donkey. And if that was enough, that was enough. But it goes deeper. A colt, the full of a donkey. Wow. That causes doubt to evaporate. That causes atheism to go out the window. This ancient prophecy was fulfilled on this day in history. And what do you have to say to that? You should say, I believe. You should say, on the facts, I believe. Remarkable. Psalm 118, the great messianic psalm. I read the whole psalm and I was going to have you all read it, then I realized we don't have the time. Let that be your homework today. Can you read Psalm 118? It's not long. It's just too long for this morning. I don't have the time. Can you read it as a family before you go to bed tonight? …

Elam – The Setting Of The Stage
Jack Hibbs, 2026-02-25

… one that's in the past and it's done, it's fulfilled. It's a Bible prophecy. It's over. It will never happen again. But you remember it every Palm Sunday. Zechariah chapter 9 verse 9 tells us that the Messiah would come into Jerusalem riding on the back of a little donkey that's never been ridden before. And that's how Israel was to know that their Messiah has arrived. Zechariah 9.9, written many hundreds of years before Jesus was born. It was fulfilled on Palm Sunday. And that is a prophecy that we put in the past bucket. It's done. You got me, everybody? Next bucket. The things that are. Jesus says write down the things that are what is going on in your lifetime now remember this is this instruction is given by Jesus to the seven letters to the seven churches that's important so that means it spans the entire age of certainly the church age for the last 2,000 years so he would say tonight hey church what do you see happening right now in your life this is critically important, everybody, to where we're going. What if Jesus tonight said, what are you guys seeing on the news tonight? What are you guys seeing on the headlines and what's trending? Jesus would ask that tonight and you'd be expected to answer back. And so imagine, here we are and what are we talking about? A massive looming war in the Middle East that many of us have not seen in a very, very …

… promised, that there would be a king and he would have a donkey tied to the vines and a foal of the donkey. So listen to what's said in Zechariah 9.9. Rejoice greatly, O daughter Zion. Shout aloud, O daughter Jerusalem. Lo, your king comes to you. Triumphant and victorious is he, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. The exact language that was used in Genesis 49 of Jacob's son Judah and what would happen, you know, from his offspring. ring. So Jesus was giving a signal. When he says, go get me the donkey, he's not accidentally fulfilling prophecy. He is intentionally giving a sign to the people. I'm the one you've been waiting for. I'm the king. He's not just a prophet. He is the king, the king of kings. That's how he comes. Let me just pause here for a moment. So who is Jesus to us as Christians? You know, there are people who say Jesus was a great moral teacher. One of my dear friends is a Jewish rabbi, you know, says, look, I believe Jesus was a great moral teacher. Hey, me too. I think he was a great moral teacher. But I don't pledge my life to him because he was a great moral teacher 2,000 years ago. I wake up every morning and I get down on my knees because he's my king. …

DONKEY DYNAMICS
Ed Young Jr., 2025-04-13

… It fulfills prophecy. Zechariah chapter 9, verse 9, that was written hundreds and hundreds of years before this happened. Zechariah 9, 9 says, Rejoice greatly, daughter Zion. shout, daughter Jerusalem. See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. This is interesting, isn't it? To me it is. A donkey? As I said earlier, you're a donkey, so am I. What can we learn from the donkey? Are you ready for this? Five donkey dynamics. Number one, the donkey was chosen for a purpose. And so are you. Jesus told his disciples to go to a specific place and look for a specific donkey to do a specific task. This donkey literally carried the weight of the world upon its shoulders. A normal, lowly animal, a donkey, an Uber, carrying the Messiah? You've got to be kidding me, but... that's the upside down kingdom of God. So often God uses people that we would never pick. …

… The prophet Zechariah prophesied something very, very specific. Listen to this, Zechariah 9.9, Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold your King is coming to you. He is just and endowed with salvation, humble and mounted on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey. prophesied that when the Messiah came into the city, He would come riding on the colt of a donkey. That was the prophecy, and it is here fulfilled. Look at verse 2. Jesus sent two of His disciples and said to them, Go into the village opposite you, and And immediately as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, on which no one yet has ever sat. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone says to you, what are you doing, or why are you doing this, you say, the Lord has need of it, and immediately He will send it back here. Now it's Monday, and it's time for Him to come into the city. …
