20 Come on, you can do better than that for what your eyes have seen, for what your ears have heard. Can you thank God for all the young people that have been blessed already? Can you cheer for the young people who are about to be blessed next? look at the person beside you tell them this is our summer of surplus this is this is the summer you get more than enough bless the Lord clap your hands for whoever's sitting next to you today Thank you.

03 Bless the Lord. The Bible says iron sharpens iron. Many of you are not better because you keep rubbing up against plastic. You got to find somebody who's going to make you better, going to make you think better, make you dream for more, reach for more. Bless the Lord. I'm grateful my covenant brother, he makes me better. I'm thankful for his life and for his heart. Help me thank God for Dr. Sean McMillan from Los Angeles Vision Cathedral. If you have your Bibles, would you accept my invitation and join me in John chapter 6? This week is our revival. I'm excited about it. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Wednesday night is going to be a night of praise and the prophetic. I'm telling you, God is going to be talking in this room in an incredible way, and I want you to be a part of it, and I want you to bring somebody with you. John chapter 6, verses 8 and 9. Once you found it, once you say, I got it, John 6, verses 8 and 9.

55 Bless the Lord. Would you read silently as I read aloud? Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, spoke up. He is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish. but how far will they go among so many? You may be seated in the presence of the Lord.

20 Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother spoke up. He is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how will they go among so many? I want to preach today using as a subject, don't talk to me like I'm a child. Look at the person beside you and tell them I'm only going to say this once.

52 Don't talk to me like I'm a child. Albert Einstein once said, Everybody is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life thinking it's stupid. 1968, NASA commissioned Dr. George Land and Dr. Beth Jarman to build an instrument to measure creative and imaginative potential. I need you to hear this. They analyzed 1,600 kids between four and five years of age by testing them with problems and asking them to come up with new and different ideas to solve those problems. What they discovered stunned them.

03 98% of those children scored at the genius level for imaginative thinking. 98% of them scored at the genius level for imaginative thinking. Where God, interesting, is the genius designation dropped to 30% by age 10. Hear this. and then plummeted to 12% by age 15. Buckle up when I tell you this. On this same experiment, only 2% of adults scored at the genius level. The study concluded there are two kinds of thinking that take place in the brain. Two kinds of thinking that take place in the brain.

03 I want you to write this down. It's going to help you. The first one is divergent thinking. Divergent thinking, what is that, Pastor? That is imagination. It's used for generating new possibilities. And the other is convergent thinking. Convergent thinking is when you're making a judgment, making a decision, when you're critiquing and you're evaluating. To make it simple, divergent thinking, divergent thinking is you pressing the accelerator.

46 Convergent thinking is you standing up on the brakes. Divergent thinking asks how many ways can I solve this problem? Divergent thinking is looking at every possible angle and every possible avenue.

08 Convergent thinking asks what is the one right answer? children are naturally divergent. They're naturally divergent because they are not afraid to be wrong.

28 Then they get into school, and school conditions them to look for one answer. And when they do not come up with that one answer, then they are disqualified from being genius. So you have smart children in your home, but you can't tell because they don't test well. Because they don't test well, the system has disqualified them.

03 Same is true for many of you who are adults. And you can tell whether you are a convergent thinker or a divergent thinker based off of how do you attack your financial problems. It's obvious you approach it like a convergent thinker because we get submerged in anxiety, swallowed by conformity, because your mind becomes devoid of creativity.

37 Watch what you do when the bill comes. How do you respond when tuition is due? How do you react when the insurance has lapsed? Where's your blood pressure when the rent is late? How do you get migraine headaches because the card note is behind and the creditors keep calling? the boundaries you have put on your mind is how can I get this money or who can I get this money from and if I can't think of somebody I begin to feel like I'm trapped the level of convergent thinking limits the possibilities of a miracle because you think it can only come from one way.

37 And if this certain person doesn't help me, if this certain check doesn't come, if I don't get this raise, if I don't get this loan, then you stop blowing balloons thinking it's the end as if God is out of options. Can you imagine that John chapter 6, Jesus is teaching to 5,000 people and the sun starts going down.

11 And watch what the adults say who are educated. Watch what the adults say who have exposure, who have experience. hear this, and have values. The adults say to Jesus, send them away. In verse 5, Jesus asked Philip, where shall we buy food for these people? But the kicker is in verse number 6, and you're not going to like it because I didn't like it. Verse 6 says, he asked the disciples, where can we buy food? I don't want you to miss this. Peep what he says in verse number 6. He only asked them that because it was a test.

00 For he already had in mind what he was going to do. He got 12 disciples, but why is he asking this question of Philip? He's asking Philip this question because he consulted Philip's LinkedIn profile. He asked Philip, here it is, because Philip, by trade and by training, is a fisherman before he was a disciple.

33 So Philip already knows how much fish costs. He already knows the market rate. He already knows the bulk rate. He already knows the port test, tax. and ladies and gentlemen, I'm telling you, hold on to that chair because what I'm getting ready to say to you is going to be disturbing and unnerving. I need you to hear this. The test that Jesus put him in was to see whether his faith was reflective of a convergent thinker or a divergent thinker. He asked him that to see how his mind was set up. Can you imagine God may have given you an expensive bill as a test? he's put something in front of you that he knows you don't have the money for to see what kind of thinking you have And here's this fisherman whose knee-jerk response to Jesus, here it is, as a convergent thinker, he says to Jesus, it's going to take us a year to pay this off to feed 5,000 people.

04 I want you to lift up that hand if you've got a bill in front of you. Thank you. lift up your hand if you've got an expense, lift up your hand if you got something past due, lift up your hand if you got a small cutoff window. I wanted to say this too with your hand lifted, and I hope that you'll receive it, is that God is using whatever bill you have as a test, but I'm going to see if you're going to shout about it. God sent you here today just for the pastor to announce to you, you're going to pay it off quicker than you think. I got the wrong church in here. It ain't going to take you years to get it done.

00 It ain't even going to take you months to get it done. But God said, at my word, whatever I speak is getting ready to come to pass. Those of you that got crazy faith, this is the summer of surplus. Before this summer is over, whatever was the financial issue that you thought was too big for you, it is not too big for God. God just needs to change your mindset. Hallelujah.

43 You're going to pay off the student loans. You're going to pay off the medical debt. You're going to pay off the arrears. You're going to pay off everything that you owe everybody. You're going to pay not down. You're going to pay off the credit card. and God said when I do it you better give me the glory to say I will look to the hills from whence cometh my help my help cometh from the Lord look at your neighbor tell them don't wait till the battle is over shout right now it ain't my business how he's gonna do it I just trust God to do it why do you trust him pastor because if he did it before, he'll do it again. Hallelujah.

39 He said, it's going to take a year to pay off this bill to do something positive. And while this whole grown man is trying to calculate the money to solve this issue, up waltzes a nine-year-old boy. Pastor, how do you know how old he was? because nine is the optimum age of creative genius thinking. This little boy at nine years of age walks up to him and says, you can have my fish sandwich. All I got is two fish and five loaves of bread. The grown man didn't see anything worthwhile in it, But I wanted to tell you, don't let people with small minds infect your big idea.

40 God is getting ready to do something for you. And I hope five of y'all will just tear this church up. God is getting ready to do something for you. You ain't got the money for. And people look at you crazy because you got a creative concept and you're not sure whether it's going to work, whether it's going to come together, whether it's going to line up. And God is saying, trust me on this. I am the God of the supernatural. If it was normal and logical, you would need me to get involved. But because it don't make sense to everybody else, don't mean it don't make sense to God. And I'm talking today to dangerous dreamers who are believing God for something that is unusual. And you're not sure how it's going to work out.

36 but you trust God because he the one that gave you the dream, gave you the idea, gave you the concept. I'm not talking to those of you that just believe God for cars and for houses and for shoes, but I'm talking to those of you that want to create generational wealth and open up businesses and have real estate. God said, give me glory for what you're not sure how to do. You may be seated. When you were a child, young men in the room, when you were a child, somebody asked you, what you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a football player, I want to be a fireman, and I want to be a police officer. The problem is when you got to school, they told you to choose one as if you could only be one thing.

37 Your problem is, is there are multiple gifts trapped inside of you with people who only have singular vision. The other parts of you are getting ready to emerge, and the people who don't understand it are going to end up working for you. you got to get yourself ready that you were never supposed to fit in when you were born to stand out look at the person beside you and tell them there's more than one gift inside of you your teacher may not understand it your friends may not understand it the people in your class may not understand it but you don't owe anybody an explanation you ought to thank God for the creativity that's inside of you. This is where I'm getting ready to upset the enemy. Would you give God glory for the parts of you that haven't even kicked in yet, for the areas in you that you haven't even explored yet, for the areas that have been dormant in you?

44 God said this is the summer that you're going to write a book, write a grant, write an essay, write a blog, and write a job description. Don't let anybody stop you from what you are saying to do. Sometimes, sometimes, not all the time. Sometimes you just got to try something. And I'm trying to figure out what level of conformity has impacted you to such a degree that you are so afraid to try something.

30 The Bible says if there be any sick amongst you, take them to the priest. Let the priest lay hands on him. But there was a woman who had an issue of blood. And the Bible says she thought to herself. I can't wait for nobody to lay hands on me. If I can just touch the hem of his garment, I feel like something is getting ready to happen on the inside of me. Elbow your neighbor, tell him you just need to try something. What is the risk when everything else you done tried ain't worked? So you might as well go for broke this time and try something. Sitting there with your arms folded and legs crossed ain't got you nowhere. But there's somebody that looks crazy to you who are screaming and jumping in church and you think they're crazy.

30 But what you don't know is why they're screaming. Their rent is getting paid. Why they giving them glory. Their blood pressure is going down. Why are they lifting him up? God is turning that child upside down. It might look crazy to you, but you ought to try something that when the praises go up, then the blessings... you may be seated I'm coming Somebody just shout out loud, try something. I'm going to try working from home this summer. I'm going to try something. I'm too distracted to be in the office. I need to work from home.

23 I got to try something. Sometimes, unpopular opinion, sometimes you got to go back to thinking like a child. before the age of seven, before the age of seven, the brain absorbs everything as a fact. Here's the problem. They did a study, Forbes magazine did, of founders of entrepreneurial enterprises. Forbes magazine did a study of founders of entrepreneurial enterprises, and they found out which CEOs were more prone to crash the business.

11 The CEOs who were more prone to crash the business were CEOs who were raised in a house who said to them as children, we can't afford it. They were raised in a house where they constantly heard, we can't afford it, and do you think money grows on trees?

36 Or, here's the death now, if as a child you kept hearing from adults, don't get your hopes up. It gets into your mind and minimizes your expectation of what God has in abundance. Your brain, hear this, did not create scarcity. You inherited it. And because your parents didn't think that they served the God of abundance, you were raised to always think it's getting ready to run out. but I came today to announce to your mind that God has no limitation. Whatever it is your mama couldn't do, whatever it is your daddy couldn't achieve, whatever it is that nobody in your family didn't have, it don't mean that's going to be your situation.

34 I dare you to just grab that neighbor's hand and say, do you know why it's been such a threat on your life? I said shake that neighbor's hand and say do you know why you've had to go after so many financial trials. The enemy knows that the generational curse of poverty ends with you. And once you break free everybody in your family is coming out with you. I need you to shout unto God like there is no more scarcity. I need you to give God glory like you will not need hand to mouth I need you to lift him up like you ain't gonna be dependent on two checks a month but I serve a God of overflow Hallelujah.

34 Give him glory right there. give him worship right there softly musicians I feel glory on me oh my God I dare you to worship him right there hallelujah thank you hallelujah God says I'm getting ready to bless you cause I saw how your mama struggled come on I can't hear nobody I'm getting ready to bless you cause I never seen the righteous forsaken or is he begging for prayer? I can't hear no worshipers. You ought to give him glory as smart as your grandmother was. Do you know what she would have done if she could have had a college education? You ought to worship God for the opportunities that are getting ready to come. Hallelujah.

29 Hallelujah. I only got a few seconds left. not for anything material not for anything tangible but I want you to worship God hear me for the opportunities God is getting ready to give your child don't shout yet that he's going to give your child that you won't have to pay for y'all ain't shouting right i heard in the spirit god is gonna let your children travel the world he's gonna let your children sit with influential people they're gonna create job descriptions because of their creativity and their giftedness you ought to lift up your hair that your child will never have to file unemployment great is his mercy towards us You got to rewire your brain.

30 You may be seated. You got to rewire your brain instead of I don't have enough. Instead of immediately thinking I don't have enough, I need you to shift your thinking to what is possible with what I have. I just lost you. Instead of saying I don't have enough, ask yourself, what can God do with what it is that I have? I know it looks like you ain't got much, but if God could take two fish and five loaves of bread and stretch it to feed 5,000, what you think God can do with a minimum paycheck? What do you think God can do with that 50 cent you got in your savings account? Don't you tell me God isn't able.

24 When you have childlike faith, when you have childlike faith, you got to start acting like a child. And do you know what divergent thinking children say the most? Man, I'm getting ready to help you. To know that you're raising a genius. You're raising somebody brilliant. Raising somebody creative. this is the one sign that you are raising a brilliant child an insightful child a creative child you've been hearing it but didn't know how to recognize it you're raising a brilliant child an incredible creative child an insightful child when your child always asks why you ain't nothing gonna drive a parent crazier than a child keep asking why hallelujah and in order to shut them up you gotta come up with an answer cause they gonna keep asking you why well I came today as a child of the most high God to ask the father some questions why can't everybody in here be a homeowner why can't we retire early why do we need student loans why is everybody else getting reparations and we ain't getting nothing why can't we travel y'all ain't saying nothing why must i live check to check why can't i start a business why can't i work from home and I heard God respond to me and your grandmother been saying it but you been missing it all along why should I feel discouraged and why should the shadows come and why should my heart

29 feel lonely and long for heaven and home when Jesus is my portion a constant friend is he his eye is on the sparrow and I know Be seated. And this is the last time. We got to go. You're dealing with a brilliant child, an insightful child, a creative child, when they're trying to articulate something and the problem is they don't have language. They don't know how to express their disappointment, their frustration, their hostility, and their anger. You done seen it.

26 That's why your mama told you, don't embarrass me when we go in this store. y'all wasn't raised old school a child doesn't have language for what it is that they feeling they don't know how to articulate it they don't know how to express it they just know they don't like what they have so a child will have what child psychologists call temper tantrums they start crying out and you're trying to figure out what's wrong. Are you wet? Are you hungry? Are you tired? Do you need to be picked up? And you try to give them a bottle. They refuse the bottle so you know it ain't that. So they keep screaming. They done refused the bottle so that ain't what they need. They check the diaper.

19 The diaper dry so they don't need to be changed. So they keep crying. And they figure out something else. Oh, they just want to be picked up. and what the child knows, what adults have missed out on, if you keep crying, the father will check everything. I got the wrong church.

46 Sometimes you don't even know what's wrong with you. You don't know if you're depressed or stressed or worried or anxious. But what I figured out is I'm going to keep crying until he addresses every issue in my life. If y'all don't need nothing, sit there like an adult. But I don't want to grow up. I'm a Toys R Us kid. I got to give God glory till he checks my bank account. I got to give him glory till he checks my blood pressure. I got to give him praise till he fixes my marriage. I got to honor him till he shifts my daughter. Grab that neighbor's hair and say, neighbor, we got a play date. When I scream, scream with me.

42 When I yell, yell with me. When I holler, holler with me. Because one thing I know. The father can't ignore a screaming baby. You ought to praise him. Give him glory. Pick me up. Pick me up. Pick me up. I can't stay in this. Pick me up. I gotta go higher. Pick me up.

33 come on cry if you want to shout if you want to dance if you want to but it won't always be like this sooner or later it's gonna work in Lift up that hand. Hallelujah. Listen to me, please, sir. Please, ma'am.

30 Many of you, your thinking is off. because you had to grow up too early. you had to grow up too fast and never had the benefit of being able to think like a child. As a child, you shouldn't have been weighed down about budget. Come on, I can't hear nobody in here. Part of your dysfunction is your mama talked to you like you was a friend.

07 Confiding their pain and their heartbreak and their disappointment. Come on, y'all ain't saying nothing to me. You had to talk to your dad while he was drunk. Check his emotions. See where it is that he was. You were left in charge as the oldest sibling. Now the other siblings resent you because they thought you thought you were their mama.

32 God, I can't hear no worshipers in here. God says, I'm getting ready to change your mindset. I'm going to pray in two different ways. Would you lift up that hand, please? I'm praying. I'm praying this morning. I hope you'll hear my heart. I'm praying for God to unlock the genius potential in your children. Your child is incredibly smart, incredibly bright, limitless possibilities, but they're in a system that doesn't understand their thinking.

13 You all have heard me talk about failing the 11th grade, and I don't know how in all this time I didn't tell you I failed the 11th grade while in the gifted program. Dr. Juwanza Kondufu wrote a book called To Be Popular or To Be Smart. Said that before the sixth grade, every black boy makes a decision whether they want to be popular or whether they want to be smart. And most of us chose popularity over intelligence. because intelligence wasn't celebrated in black manhood. Come on, lift that hand.

02 I speak brilliance over your son. God, I can't hear no worshipers. I unleash brilliance over your grandson. There will be no learning disorder. There'll be no developmental issues. No medication will be required. There'll be scholarships with his name on it. Opportunities that he never thought about. I declare that God is going to assign an influential mentor into your son's life. I prophesy over your daughters that God is tapping the genius instinct in your girls. Your girl is rising to the top of the class.

02 She will never have to apologize for the brilliance in her head. That God will connect her with like-minded individuals who will not get caught up in trivialities and superficial stuff, but will be drawn to make a difference and to make an impact. Acts chapter 2 says, In that day I'll pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your son and your daughter will prophesy. I now release the prophetic gene in your children, that your children will be able to speak to their necks even while they're in the now. Somebody give God glory for the genius of our children. I hope you are energized that you don't need an energy drink.

00 What you just heard should have you off and running, chasing your dreams, pursuing your purpose and answering your call. If this was a blessing, share it with somebody else. Don't be selfish. This is what God gave you so that you can be a blessing to somebody who needs it worse.
