00 Brace yourself and buckle up. You are about to hear a life-changing, history-making, world-defining message from the New Birth Podcast. Tell everybody you know, things will never be the same. clap your hands if you praise him Come on, if you praise them, make the angels jealous. All day, all night, they just say in one word, hallelujah. As they circle around the throne, they're giving him all the glory, all of the praise, all of the thanksgiving. Somebody shout hallelujah. Bless the Lord. Clap your hands if you're glad to be alive.
59 What a week this has been. I want you to give me just a moment before we go into today's message. I feel encumbered that I must say something at this tick of the watch in regards to Nolan Wells. An 18-year-old black college student disappeared on the 4th of July, gone to a boat party on Horn Island off of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, found dead two days later. a Mississippi grand jury declined to bring charges and the family of Nolan Wells with their attorney Ben Crump asked, I need you to hear this asked in their first statement after hearing that from the grand jury they asked, could they make their statement from New Birth Missionary Baptist Church so the family came here on Wednesday not Mississippi they came to Stonecrest Georgia where they said they would feel safe where they would feel covered and they would feel protected somebody ought to thank God for that The cause and manner of death are still officially undetermined.
40 An independent autopsy commissioned by the family found the cause and manner of death as inconclusive. With the examiner unable to rule out foul play. A ground jury declining to charge is not the same thing as the case being solved. It means prosecutors didn't find enough to charge anyone. Not that the matter of death has been explained. They still have left unexplained physical findings. The independent autopsy noted red discoloration in the soft tissue at the back of Nolan's head with no clear explanation for what caused it. The report also noted that parts of Nolan's throat are missing from his body. These are the kinds of details a real investigation would resolve.
43 not the kind of questions a family should have to sit with nobody has reconciled the contradictory accounts one woman told investigators that wells said he was going to get back on the boat while his so-called friends say wells told them he was staying behind to talk to her authorities have not publicly identified not any suspects or indicated foul play despite the conflicting timelines nobody is saying anything about the deleted snapchat messages off nolan's phone or why it is that they said that they didn't know where the phone was but nolan's parents had installed a tracking device on the phone and it went back to the friend's house. A grand jury's non-indictment is not a final verdict on the facts. Grand juries decide whether there's enough evidence to charge a particular person with a particular crime, but from July 7th until this date they have not named one person of interest and have not called a foul play in any place power concedes nothing without a demand and so I stand by the power of Calvary's cross it ain't over till God says it's over It took them 31 years to find justice for Emmett Teola, and I believe by God's grace, it is not going to take that long for us to get justice for Nolan Wells.
33 If we got to go to Mississippi, then we going to Mississippi. But I don't want them to think we're going to roll over and play dead. I want to charge you to keep speaking the name of Nolan Wells. Everybody shout his name together. Nolan Wells. I want to challenge you to please take this picture. I want you to post it on your social media. I want it to keep circulating because I don't want Mississippi to think that the case is over, that we have forgotten and that God does not have the final say. if it wasn't your child you would want us to keep putting our foot on the gas and we've got to do that until america realized that there's got to be a reconciling for injustice this was not a man this was a young man and i am not going to let the american justice system throw him away like a used rag somebody clap your hands if you still stand flat-footed for justice for Nolan Wells.
39 Today we come to conclusion of our women's season and as a consequence, I want to pause and publicly give high commendation for the amazing, remarkable leadership of our First Lady, Dr. Carrie Bryant, who has valiantly and triumphantly led our women through this month and through this season. Our ladies are just getting back yesterday from their reinvigorate retreat in the Dominican Republic. I'm telling you, it was absolutely amazing. Women came from literally all over the world, and I was glad to be able to have a front row seat to see what God is doing in the life of the women of new birth, but all the more out of the leadership of our dynamic First Lady. What it is that they experienced over those three days, I can't even put in the words.
35 All I'm going to tell you is when they do it next year, you better sign up. Amen. You better sign up. Whatever island they going to, I'm going with them. Unless they going to Horn Island in Mississippi, I ain't going. But other than that, I'm going to be standing. I'm going to be standing with them. If you got your Bibles, would you go with me to Genesis chapter 16? Genesis chapter 16. Amen.
08 Honored to have with us a history maker, the youngest elected mayor in the history of the state of Georgia, former mayor of Stockbridge, 21 years of age. Honored to have you with us, young man. Amen. God is going to do a great work in your life. He ain't finished with you yet. don't give up on God. Somebody ought to be cheering even right now. Genesis chapter 16, verse number 6. Genesis chapter 16, verse number 6.
48 It's the first book of the Bible. It ain't going to take you long. Genesis chapter 16, verse number 6. Let's read it together. Your slave is in your hands, Abram said. do with her whatever you think best. Then Sarah mistreated Hagar. So she fled from her. Let's read it again with a little bit more vim, vigor, and vitality. Come on, everybody. Your slave is in your hands. bless the Lord you may be seated in the presence of the Lord would you look at the person beside you and tell them they don't think that much of you look at the person beside you and tell them I don't want you to think you that special look at me and I tell them they don't think that much of you either We were in the Dominican Republic this week for Lady Carrie's conference retreat, Reinvigorate.
16 And one morning I got up early and went to a breakfast by myself. And one of the registrants who was there was not out of our church, but is a financial advisor. I'm waiting in line to get an omelet. I didn't know this lady. But she started telling me why I needed to get Dr. Carey a Birkin bag for Christmas. I didn't know this lady, but I felt like she was a plant.
56 And she was telling me that her background was in finance and financial planning and estate planning. And she said, Dr. Bryant, you really ought to do it. It's a good investment. It's more stable than gold. James Firestone told Forbes magazine that buying a Birkin bag is similar to buying a Picasso but the difference is you can walk around with it. The value of a Birkin bag doubles every five years. The annual return on a Birkin is 14.2% compared to the S&P average of being just 8.7%. Clutch of pearls. I want to hold your hand when I tell you this. The bag costs between $60,000 and $200,000.
54 But they're never advertised. They never go on sale. And they have no commercials. They're made in a limited quality. That's a whole lot of money. I told this woman, that's a whole lot of money. It's a whole lot of money just to hold something. I can't make sense out of it. Your contents should always be more valuable than your packaging. it's a man that looks at the outer appearance but God that looks at the heart I wanted to ask every woman who's in this room do you actually know what you hold do you realize what you carry and it got me to thinking about how the national crime Information Center and the Black and Missing Foundation state that right now while you are seated in the sanctuary right now while you are seated in this sanctuary there are 90,000 missing black women 90,000 missing black women right now and no alarm is being sounded beyond the dreaded reality of human trafficking, abduction, and murder.
31 Nobody is saying the quiet part out loud, which is the illegal harvesting of organs that has been targeting black bodies for decades. According to the website Exodus Road, kidneys are being sold in the black market for a hundred thousand dollars one kidney a hundred thousand dollars in the black market livers are being sold for 350 000 dollars hearts are being sourced from fatal violent thefts from fatal violent thefts they are harvesting hearts for $800,000.
24 Basic math will tabulate, therefore, that the average black woman's body on the low end is worth $1.3 million. Don't play yourself cheap. You are worth more than a Birkin bag. So you got to stop letting people treat you like you are a Ziploc. Sometimes, sometimes the assault on you does not come from the oppressor. Sometimes, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, sometimes and unfortunately it doesn't come from the oppressor. It comes at the hand of another sister. check out what happened in Genesis 16 verse 1 Sarah is having difficulty conceiving so she got Hagar who was a slave to be her surrogate verse 3 says she gave her to Abram to be his wife.
37 No longer a slave, now a wife. No longer a slave, now a wife. Some things that look like freedom are actually velvet handcuffs. She never asked to be with Sarah's husband. It was the other way around. When Hagar becomes pregnant because Sarah is unable to conceive, immediately the script gets flipped. The Bible says she becomes mean to her. Be on alert. Be on high alert for helper resentment trap, which is what happens when people resent you after you help them.
36 It's what psychologists call unrequited emotional debt. Accepting help creates an invisible imbalance deficit. To erase the discomfort of owing you, people will rewrite the narrative in their minds to make you the bad guy so that it absolves them from feeling guilt or from feeling grateful. So now they're in spaces and when they hear your name, they start making sounds. Y'all ain't saying nothing to me. It is absolutely crazy how they got an attitude and you only asking for the repayment of what they borrowed.
29 They are slow to answer your calls and leave your text messages on read because people like seeing themselves as self-reliant. But when you show up, they can no longer pretend like they did it by themselves. The more Hagar's belly grew, the more Sarah's hatred grew. there are people who despise you all because you help them and so since that moment till this they have flipped the script and start acting stranger because they don't want to be reminded of the sacrifice you made for them in the most vulnerable moment of their life what they don't understand is what I did for you I did out of the goodness of my heart with no strings attached I'm not trying to hold nothing over your head that's just your conscience because you were never used to having real friends in the first place but because you really had a day one you don't know how to handle value or respect me but I see how you acting now so what I'm gonna do is just step away from the situation until you come to yourself and realize you lost one of the best friends you ever had in your life because you didn't know how to receive from a giver The more Hagar's belly grew, the more Sarah's hatred grew.
19 There are people who despise you because your womb is not barren. If you just didn't have visible signs and evidence of the favor that was on your life, Things could go back to normal. But when people see you growing and stretching and evolving and developing, they become upset and insolent because they want you to be just as empty as they are. But they got no idea if you hate me in my pregnant season, what you gonna do in my delivery season? you mad with me while I got morning sickness you mad with me when I can't hold my food down you mad with me and I can't get a good night's sleep tell me what you gonna do when I deliver everything I'm carrying when everything God put in me comes to pass the more her belly grows the more the hatred grows the environment becomes so toxic that Hagar runs away pregnant she runs away pregnant here there's children of God in a desert you don't know what it takes for a woman to risk everything just to get away and there's some women in this room who've had to take that run through a desert before you had to run from domestic violence from emotional abuse from spiritual manipulation from financial oppression.
15 Folk are looking at you now, judging you and making up stuff, but you don't know what I had to get away from in order just to keep my peace. I told them keep everything and let me start over again with God because I trust him even in a desert place. I'm talking to some women who've had to run through the desert trying to take care of your babies run through a desert didn't know where you were going to live how you were going to function how you were going to maintain how you were going to eat and people were making critical remarks about you because of your decision and they had no idea I'd rather die in the desert than be under the tree and be miserable and unhappy.
12 I gotta do what I gotta do. She runs into a desert, pregnant, not sure what she's going to do. And something strange happens. She's on the run carrying something significant in the desert, running from a toxic environment. Y'all ain't going to believe it. And the Bible says an angel shows up. Now the reason why y'all not shouting good is you don't realize that when this angel shows up in Genesis 16 verse 7, it's the first time an angel has ever exposed themselves. No angel ever came to Adam. No angel ever came to Noah.
05 Y'all ain't saying nothing to me. No angel came to no man. but the first time an angel shows up is to a black woman on the run. God, I can't hear nobody. If I can get some worshiping women, God told me to tell you, brace yourself. Because in the next 48 hours, I'm sending an angel to come visit you. I know some of y'all don't believe in the supernatural. but if you believe that between now and Tuesday an angel is gonna come see about you I dare lift up your voice and open up your mouth to say all day and all night the angels are watching over me my love All right!
00 Hallelujah! I can't believe y'all ain't shouting yet. Our angel is coming to your bedroom. Our angel is going to see you in your car. Come on, where am I worshiping women? God said, I'm sending an angel to recommend your name for a job opportunity. I'm sending an angel that's going to mentor your son I'm sending an angel that's going to assist you to get in that house and an angel is coming Hallelujah Hallelujah Every woman in the room just stop flapping your wings Hallelujah dario just in strings for me flap those wings right there may every woman under the sound of my voice have an angelic visitation while you are in transition you didn't hear what I just said come on flap them an angel is coming to give you direction while you are going through the desert season of your life An angel is coming.
28 Hallelujah. You may be seated. Hallelujah! The angel in verse 18 says to Sarah, ask Sarah two questions.
53 Where have you come from? And where are you going? And I want you to hear what Hagar says in response. Hagar says, I'm running from Sarah. Full stop. The angel asked her two questions. Where are you coming from? And where are you going? And Hagar responds, I'm running from Sarah. That's the end. Take note that Hagar only answers one of the questions. Where she's running from. but she never asks where she's running to and that's a lot of our problem a lot of us are quick to respond what we are running away from but we're slow to answer what are you running to God help me I know I'm in a multi-generational church but for Gen Z I need you to look up this movie called Mahogany And you would hear Diana Ross ask the question, do you know where you're going to?
07 Do you like the things that life is showing you? Do you get what you are hoping for? Do you know? So many of you know what you are running from, but you have no idea what you are running to. I need every woman, if you'll help me, would you take another sister by the hand? Even if you got to reach over, man, take another sister by the hand and say, I know where I'm running to. Hallelujah. I got a plan. I got a dream. I got a vision. I got an assignment. And wherever I'm going, it's got to be better than where I am right now. If anybody asks you, what's the matter with me? Tell them I'm saved. I'm sanctified. I'm riding for my life. verse 10 is a mind blower the Lord responds to her I want you to hear what God says to this pregnant black woman in the desert who had to run from a toxic relationship I'm in verse 10 I don't want you to take it for granted Watch what the Lord says to her.
28 The Lord says to her, while in the desert, I will increase your descendants. So much so that they will be too numerous to count. Now somewhere in the inner recesses of your mind, this ought to sound vaguely familiar. the Lord says to Hagar a pregnant single black mother I will increase your descendants so much so that they'll be too numerous for you to count somewhere that ought to ring for you familiar I will increase your descendants so much so that they will be too numerous for you to count this is the exact same covenant that the Lord gave to Abram. God help me.
20 Who is considered the father of the faith? The same covenant he gave to a man. He now spoke it over a woman. Y'all don't know when to shout. I am gonna bless. If y'all don't tear up this church, I'm going home. I am gonna bless. Here's where you scream. Every person who was born of a single mother. I am going to take care of every child that had to struggle. I am going to be a multiplier for those that came out of a disadvantage. I am going to speak increase for every child that felt unwanted, unloved, and unprotected. I am going to be a wheel in the middle of a wheel. the reason why y'all ain't shouting good is you think I'm talking to you I am declaring this covenant over your children that your children are gonna walk in the anointing of God and nothing will be missing nothing will be broken nothing will be out of order you ought to cry out unto God if you know I am under covenant your mother didn't have all of the degrees all of the advantages but look at you with your favorite self the hand of the Lord maketh rich and add no sorrow to it. Hallelujah. You may be seated. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. I speak increase to the children of single mothers. Hallelujah.
16 Hallelujah. Hallelujah. The announcement then comes that the child you are carrying will be called Ishmael. Hallelujah. Because God hears. I may not mean much to you, but God hears me. I may not measure up to your standards, but God heals me. I may not look like much to you, but I got to tell you something. God, don't play about me. Come on. I ain't got all of the fancy bags and shoes and I can't go on all of the trips, but don't you handle me like I'm not tough.
12 I'm one of one. I need you to understand I don't need your approval or your validation I've been that it girl I've been the one that they've been talking about I've been the one they've been jealous of don't discount who I am to God God hears me. I don't know what woman needs to hear this, needs to be reminded of it. God hears you when you're scared.
52 He hears you when you're vulnerable. He hears you when you're lost. He hears you when you're rejected. he hears you when you're misunderstood and he hears you while you are on the run the only way he can hear you is you got to call on him jeremiah 33 and said if you call him he will answer i just wish i had a thousand women who got experience calling on God not because I told you to do it but you done had some moments where you between the devil in the deep blue sea and you learn how to call on God for yourself if I got any wailing women in the room would you open up your mouth and call on him come on I dare you to call him up and tell him what you want Hallelujah.
56 Tell them what you want. Jesus says of himself in the New Testament, I am the way, I'm the truth, I'm the life. Jesus says of himself, I am the true vine. Hallelujah. Jesus says of himself, I am the good shepherd. Hallelujah. Moses asked of Yahweh when I go to tell Pharaoh to let his people go who should I say sent me hallelujah and in the original biblical language he said ego amini I am that I am I need you to understand something about this woman of God is everywhere else in the Bible God has got to explain himself he's got to define himself but it is only this woman in Genesis that gives God a name he says watches you are the God who sees and I'm so thankful that God doesn't just hear me but God sees me would you look at the person beside you tell them God sees you when you've been struggling but keeping yourself together God sees you when you could have got your licked back but you held your peace and said God I'm gonna give it over to you God says I see you when you took the high road and you could have blew up other people's whole operation God I said I see you when you kept the whole family together and nobody valued and appreciated your sacrifice I see you and because God sees me do you think I care how you look at me God help me in here you think you gonna mess me up because you look at me up and down I know these shoes are run over I know this skirt is out of style y'all ain't saying nothing to me I know that my nails are basic, but I'm not worried about how you see me.
06 But I serve a God that sits high and he looks low. And I wanted God to see me on this Sunday morning. Worship him while I was broke. I wanted him to see me. Give him glory while I was going through depression. I wanted him to see me.
29 Hallelujah. I want him to see me. You may be seated. David is coming back in. David is coming back in with the ark of the covenant. And his wife is looking out the window watching him dance while he took his clothes off. And she said, look at how undignified you look. You supposed to be the king and you out here jumping and dancing and running, looking like you ain't got no sense. and David who had got the glory back said, let me tell you something, sister girl. I'm getting ready to be more undignified than this because I went through a season when I didn't have the glory. But now that I got the glory back on my life, I will tear this whole row up.
23 I wish I had 50 radical worshipers that don't care how folk look at you and don't care if they roll their eyes and if they suck their teeth. Okay. I got to tell you something. I got to tell you something. You really ain't shouting good. You really ain't shouting good till somebody got an attitude.
51 You really ain't getting your praise on till somebody behind you says it don't take all of that. You really ain't give God crazy praise until somebody too rolls over would say I wish they would stop screaming. But what they don't understand, the nights I had to run through the desert, the days I had to fight for my kids, the moments I almost lost my mind. But when I think of the goodness of Jesus and all he's done for me soul cries out hallelujah go crazy give god a scream like you're coming out of the desert give god a holler like your baby gonna be all right yeah like though he slain me yet will I trust him I gotta get out of here but I dare you to grab somebody by the hand and tell your neighbor I got more enemies than I got friends I got people in my family that want me to die I got people that I helped that got a short memory but through it all I remember that he loves me and he cares and he'll never put more on me than what?
34 Grab a woman And say, girl, get out of that desert. Grab a woman. And say, girl, you carrying too much. Grab a woman. And say, you can't die here. It's too much in here. For God I live. Take somebody by the hand. Take somebody by the hand. Thank you.
56 He loves me, and he kiss, and he'll not. put more on me somebody's hand is in your hand stretch out across the aisles I got to tell you something real quick and then then we'll close.
31 I'm mindful that we are in the midst of the erasure of our history. I'm mindful that they are deleting out of the curriculum of public schools what it is that our children can read and what they can get access to. I want to close today telling you about another slave girl whose name isn't Hagar.
58 And that slave girl's name, hear me, was Harriet. What they didn't tell you about Harriet Tubman is that Harriet Tubman in much of her young formative years had an undiagnosed sickness and had to spend weeks to months in the bed.
21 And people couldn't understand because Harriet was a devout believer. She would pray every night while sick. Pray every night while sick. Lord, change my master's heart. She's praying for somebody who doesn't value her. For somebody who doesn't see her. For somebody who has no appreciation for her humanity. And she prays every night. Lord for my slave owner change his heart. She prayed it every night for weeks, for months. And then somebody came to her bedside and said, Master is selling you tomorrow.
12 Selling you to somebody else. Harriet stood up in the bed and changed her prayer. Lord change his heart or kill him True story. and the next day the slave owner died I'm getting ready to say something to you. I hope you can handle it. And after the slave owner died is how she started the Underground Railroad. God is about to move whoever is blocking your assignment God is about to shift whoever is standing in the way of what you are supposed to accomplish, what you are supposed to achieve.
14 I know they don't think much of you, but that ain't your business. His eye is on the sparrow. And I know he's watching over you. We're getting ready to go into spiritual warfare. For one moment, I need you to trust me in this. We get ready to go into spiritual warfare. We get ready to pray and you're not praying for your children. You're not praying for the person whose hand you're holding. You get ready to pray for who doesn't like you. God, I wish I had Christians in this room. you get ready to pray for people who have an axe to grind against you you get ready to pray for people who try to sabotage your assignment you get ready to pray that God will change the heart of people who don't recognize the hand of God is resting on your life all heads about all eyes are closed would you open up your mouth and begin to pray for those who despitefully use you. Pray for those who persecute you.
31 Pray for those who speak all manner of lies against you. Pray for those who don't want to see your belly grow. God's getting ready to do a work in your supervisor He's getting ready to do something in the heart of your sister God I can't hear no wailing worshipers He's getting ready to do something against adult children who have turned on you He's getting ready to convict your former best friend Thank you. get ready to do something in the life of your ex whoever don't see you how God sees you has got to get a heart adjustment I believe that it is so.
28 and those of you who are in this room in this space like me who are living witnesses that God can change your heart would you loose those hands and give God your best sound of thanksgiving come on I dare you to open up your mouth I dare you to shout out loud listen to me some of you are under the burden of what other people called you how other people see you the stigma has stuck with you but I need you to get out of your seat and embrace your three people and tell them, see yourself the way God sees you. See yourself the way God sees you.
25 See yourself and I've been come on from above From above But through it all, I remember that he loves me and he cares.
12 And he'll never put more. I hope you are energized that you don't need an energy drink. What you just heard should have you off and running, chasing your dreams, pursuing your purpose, and answering your call. If this was a blessing, share it with somebody else. Don't be selfish. This is what God gave you so that you can be a blessing to somebody who needs it worse.
