… God has planned for us. Why would we fear going through that gate? It's what leads us to everything God has planned for us. The apostle Paul said it this way in 1 Corinthians 15 50. Now I say this brethren that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Paul was explaining why death is necessary for the Christian. One reason is we need a change of clothes in order to live and exist in the new world. I was reading what some futurist said a few weeks ago. He's predicting that in not that many years, many citizens of earth are going to be living on Mars. How does that strike you? Living on Mars. That's what they're predicting. That's what they say is going to happen. I don't know if that's going to happen or not, but what I do know is this. If I'm going to live on Mars, the suit I'm wearing right here, right now, it's fine for Dallas, Texas. …

… the kingdom of god that which is born of the flesh is flesh that which is born of the spirit is spirit. 1 Corinthians 15 50. Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Now the new birth results in new behavior. We see in 2 Corinthians 5 17. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. Isn't that gorgeous? Because that old life that I used to live that I thought was really living before Jesus is gone. That's a life of death and sin, but the life that I now live, I live by faith in the Son of God, and I have a completely new life. I have a completely new direction. I have a completely new outlook, and everything is new. Now, the next thing is he says that we don't sin. Now, just so you think correctly about this, it's that we don't make plans or we don't practice sin any longer. …

The Coming Of The King – Part 3
Jack Hibbs, 2026-06-03

Why is it different? Why does it apply to the church and not the nation of Israel or somebody else? Here's why. Paul told the Corinthians in chapter 15, verse 15, now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Here it comes. Behold, I tell you a mystery. We, says Paul, shall not sleep. That means, you guys know what that means? You remember what that means? For the believer, the believer, regarding the body, is never announced to be dead. The body takes on the appearance of sleep. We shall not all sleep or die, but we shall be changed in a moment, in a twinkle of an eye, at the last trump, for the trumpet will sound and the dead will be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed. And I gave you the definition of that word change down there to watch this, look, to take something and make something different out of the same. That's a remarkable Greek word and its meaning, to take something and then to take that something and make something different, but it's out of the same. …

The Coming Of The King – Part 2

… I'm going to have it prompted to you this way. I'm going to read 1 Corinthians 15, verse 50 right now. And here is the why of it, the why. Can you write that down? I don't think you'll see it. Oh, you will see it. Aren't these guys great? Let's thank God. These guys who do my notes. I mean, I do the notes, but they're faithful to make them look good. Here is the why. Why is this important? Because remember, we want to approach the Bible right now, I'd say this affectionately, very, very cautiously. So here's the why. The appearing of Jesus Christ, why? Who cares? I don't get involved in that. Cause it's controversy. now this I say brethren Paul is speaking to the believers in Greece that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God in other words our skin our body cannot live in the presence of God it's impossible you can't live at the bottom of the ocean either unless you're in a submarine your body is not built to walk around in the bottom of the ocean you're going to drown before you get there are you with me Thank you. …

Second Chances and First Impressions
Michael Zeigler, 2026-04-26

… I am telling you, brothers and sisters, flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Look, I'm speaking of a mystery. We will not all sleep. We will not all die, but we will be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet, because the trumpet will sound and the dead will be raised imperishable. And we shall be changed. Because this perishable body must put on the imperishable. And this mortal body must be clothed in immortality. And when the perishable puts on what cannot decay and the mortal is clothed in what cannot die, then shall come to pass the saying as it is written, death is swallowed up in victory. Where is your victory, O death? Where is your sting? Because the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God who gives us the victory in Jesus Christ, our Lord. Therefore, my beloved brothers, sisters, be steadfast. …

Not in Vain

… The Apostle Paul helps answer this question in today's reading from 1 Corinthians. I'd like to read to you from 1 Corinthians 15, verses 50-58. Paul writes, I tell you this, brothers. Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Behold, I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. …

1 Thessalonians 4
Skip Heitzig, 2026-03-25

… And I'm reading out of 1 Corinthians 15. if you're taking notes, verse 50 down to verse like 52. This I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we will all be changed. Somebody suggested they put that as a sign over the nursery. get it we will not all sleep but we will all be changed i kind of like that but that's not what he's talking about just came to my mind behold i tell you a mystery we shall not all sleep but we will all be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye at the last trumpet for the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised, that's resurrection, incorruptible, and we shall be metamorphosized, changed, physically altered. So two groups, alive, one alive, one dead. At this event, change, twinkling of an eye. So this we say to you by the word of the Lord, we are alive and remain to the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. Remember these guys, the Thessalonians, were all worried about their loved ones who had died. For the Lord himself, he's not going to send an angel to do this, the Lord himself will descend from heaven. …

A Conversation About Heaven
Guest speaker, 2026-03-22

… he had to be born again because you have to be spiritually reborn in order to enter the kingdom of God because heaven requires inner change. 1 Corinthians 15 50 says flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Flesh and blood. Nicodemus thought in part he was going to go to heaven because he was born a Jew. Just being born a Jew does not mean you're going to heaven. You could say, well, I was born in the United States. I was born into a Christian family. That doesn't mean anything to God. I mean, you might have a better chance of finding Jesus than someone else, but the reality is, is just because you're born into a Christian family does not mean you are born again. You might call yourself a Christian. Many people call themselves Christians. That word, that name, that title has lost its meaning. Lots of people call themselves Christians. But if you were to follow them around in the world, you would be so confused. …

Easter 2018
Francis Chan, 2018-04-01

Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven. I tell you this, brothers, flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Behold, I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord, your labor is not in vain. …
