… God's about to use this for a platform. Look what he does Oh, I feel this thing and it came to pass at the time of the offering for the evening sacrifice that Elijah the prophet came near and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known or make it public. I'm doing this in front of everybody so God can get glory. He said this day that you are God. We're going to let it be known that you are God. And in Israel, I am your servant. Write this point down. This is the mechanics of making it public making it public is always the plan God never means for you to go through something that you'll never tell somebody else And I know that scares a lot of y'all be like but what no no no no I'm uh-uh No, no, no It came to take you out, but it's gonna work for your good But God can't use it if it's a secret and so it was his plan all the time how do we know it was his plan all the time he because God is a generational God he starts off by saying this is the God of Abraham who he made public a spectacle in his life because he he couldn't have no children but he told him he would be a descendant of many nations and it was at a hundred years old when his wife's womb was dusty do you hear what I'm saying that God allowed for a miracle to come out of that so he said I did it …

… He is totally putting everything out there. And now he prays. It's not the longest prayer in the world, but he appeals to the thing God loves the most. Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. Answer me, Lord. Answer me. So these people will know that you, Lord, are God and that you are turning their hearts back again. This gets the attention of heaven. and then the fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones, and the soil, and also licked up all the water in the trench. Can you imagine this? And when all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried. That means they fell on their faces and they cried, the Lord, he is God. The Lord, he is God. Duh. And then Elijah commanded them, seize the prophets of Baal. Don't let anyone get away. And they seized them and they had them brought down to the valley and they slaughtered them there. And then Elijah said to Ahab, go eat and drink for there is the sound of a heavy rain. And Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel and he bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees. He did not go on a, hey, look at me, parade. …

… Verse 35, the water ran all over and filled the trench with the water. And it came to pass at the time of the evening sacrifice. Elijah the prophet came near and called on the name of the Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And he said these words, Let it be known this day that you are God in Israel. These are the words that got me in that I am your servant. I wonder if we have a strong enough. won't with God that we could say that with assurance that when we pray for people, when we pray for miracles, when we pray for our families, that we say, let it be known this day that you are God in Gainesville or wherever you're watching this and that I am your servant. I love that. and have done all these things at your word. Verse 38, Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, the wood, the stones, the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. …

The Book of 1 Kings

… and he alone gets on his knees and says, Oh Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and that I've done all these things at your word. Answer me, O Lord. Answer me that this people may know that you, O Lord, are God and that you have turned their hearts back. It's just that beautiful story of one man who got on his knees and trusted God and knew of his power. And what I love about that is the New Testament says in James 5 that Elijah was a man just like us. Elijah was a man with a nature just like us, but it says, but Elijah prayed earnestly. this is what God wants of us. Our creator wants us believing his word, trusting his word, studying his word, and clinging to his word, letting go of everything else but trusting in his promises. And I pray for that type of power in you this Easter, just to believe in that resurrection power, that same power that called fire down from heaven through his prayers that Elijah had. …
